FYI, this car barely has ANY supporting mods. It's got about $1,600 in mods total including the cost of ET streets. It's also done on a average track in about 400DA conditions, not MIR in negative 3000 DA weather by Ranger.

He's good because 1) he can drop the clutch, then let off slightly so not to spin the tires and not stall it, either, and not lose any launching power, all at the same time. 2) Powershifting like that, I'll be honest and say there's a likely chance that I'd miss a gear, which I'm sure is the case with you as well. He didn't miss any.

My car drifts side to side on street tires, but I have a solid 8.8 in mine. I've never had "flex" with slicks. Buddy of mine has an 03 cobra with a Steigemier ported Eaton, a 9 inch and bullet proof t-56. its tuned very well and he runs in the 9s but of course theres hundreds of other lil mods... like ported heads, cams, pullies, the usual. My personal best on Nitto 555R 17 35 355 tires is a 9.78 @ 172mph. :) I have the same blower set up he does. but I run a 75 wet shot on the top end :)

lol granny shift? powershifting only gains you like .10 sec on your time and Ironically he needs that .10 from powershifting. But would you rather spend 3000 dollars on a tranny or 3000 dollars on something to make your car faster so you don't have to beat it up to make that 10 sec 1/4 mile. And i know his tranny can take it.. for a while, it can't take it forever and eventually it'll catch up to him, and he's not gonna be happy when it does.

Its worth it man, anyone can take a twinscrew and run 10's all day long, doing it on a ported eaton says you are a good driver. Only a handful of people with these cars (maybe 30) have run in the 10's with a ported eaton and no spray. Besides its not like he drives it like this every single day, if that were the case I would agree with you, but doing it at the track once in a while won't hurt anything. He'd break an input shaft before he would need a new tranny anyways, so your point is moot.
