@Minic15 Very astute! The original video was 13 minutes. I forgot that YouTube only allows 10 minute videos, so I had to spend the afternoon editing it down. Cutting 3 minutes out of a video like this is a heatwrenching but sobering experience. But I'm pretty happy with the final result.

I believe the sharing of knowledge may be the last chance of real freedom. If the internet begins to stop sharing knowledge, if the world again becomes cut off from each other, then ignorance will again prevail, and propaganda will be the norm.
As far as the music industry, we used to record the radio stations with our cassette recorders. Movies were recorded off the tv. The piracy has always been there.
I like the direction we are going, because knowledge will prevail, not weapons.

I think that the problem is in the people. So far, we are not in Matrix, so you can turn off pc, and do not use wikipedia, facebook etc.
But you know, scanning all the books is not 100% evil idea. It can be usefull if I want for example quote Remarque in German, but I dont have the original at home.
Its just a tool, and people should consider if they gonna use it.
Also nobody wants you to write everything abouty you on facebook.
Its just that people a lot of people are actually stupid ...

To those below. If you change the definition, it doesn't change the thing. Socializing is something we do, and have done for some time, so we gave a name to it. Just because we change the definition of socializing to what we do on the internet doesn't mean we're actually socializing anymore. I for one rather like my senses and the things they do for me. @Minic15 Very astute! The original video was 13 minutes. I forgot that YouTube only allows 10 minute videos, so I had to spend the afternoon editing it down. Cutting 3 minutes out of a video like this is a heatwrenching but sobering experience. But I'm pretty happy with the final result.

the internet is a tool which we have created with technology, however a tool has a right way to be used, and i think that many people miss use the internet. have u seen what kids use the internet for? if u have then u can truly see what i mean by a substitute (mosty socializing). if this continues large parts of several generations will lack social skills, which results in chaos. i dont desire chaos in my daly life, because it can be stressful. btw chaos doesnt come in just one form/ intensity

what you describe as the internet is just a fraction of it. there is so much more to it then twitter facebook or 4chan. these may be the most popular but that isn't all there is to it.

the majority of books are Romans like twilight etc....and that's what most people read when they are bored. but nobody assumes that that's all there is to literature especially coming from a youtube channel discussing philosophers.
