I used to be a member for a TM club in District 55. I know the clubs in Austin and have seen Amy Samet. I am an ATM-B, CL and quit the club three years ago.
Amy is a good speaker. Excellent vocal variety. Hand gestures very appropriate and excellent control over the speech.
Negatives: The title 'Nothing is impossible' for an 'International Speech' contest seems great but the plot was not. The transitions were inconsistent at places and too many dialogues brought down the overall narration.
Further with a title like 'Nothing is impossible' I would expect that she would 'Persuade with Power'. I am surprised that she adopted a humorous approach as opposed to being more persuasive and forceful and using the last two minutes to drive home the point.
Word choices in the speech were not great (Refer to Speech 6 in the old manual - Work with words). Props were missing (Refer to Speech 8 in the old manual). All in all a very good effort by Amy and my Congratulations to her!
Yeah she's a better speaker than I by far as well. I'm fairly new to Toastmasters and maybe need to step up the level of my evaluation. Maybe your points are valid.
A point for you to consider though is the sandwich technique in an evaluation. Sandwich your suggestions in between positive comments. This is a great technique for dealing with co-workers, family or a toastmaster speech.

Great talking with you.

I totally do this in real live, but with 500 characters over youtube, it's not possible.

Excellent! Entertaining and inspiring! Especially love the beginning story - it was packed with energy and humour.
Three very different stories were given, which I thought was refreshing and not a problem.

Really good speech. Love the humour. Recommendations:
1. Use less wide hand gestures. Very unnatural, even for large audience.
2. Talk more, act less. Just talk. Some delivery is fake.
3. Make speech title not give away your message right away.
4. Use transitions between stories. Also, stage movement was forced and unnatural.

Agreed! Fabulous speech! Professional quality of high order.
1. Obviously large room. Large hand gestures required! Go sit in the back of a big room and see for yourself.
2.Delivery was right on - nothing fake. Good and appropriate Bert & Ernie acting.
3. Nothing wrong with speech title.
4. Stage movement maybe a bit unnatural.
Could improve here.
Fantastic speech. Weaving the fun stories into an inspirational speech. Great job Amy!
Work on your evaluating.

I still disagree. Amy's a great speaker - a lot better than I am. However, I'm an excellent speech evaluator (Easily one of the best in my district).
1. I'm legally blind and I still think the gestures are too big. If you look at the world champs, they have natural gestures.
2. Delivery *is* unnatural in some spots. Amy sounds more natural with less prepared content. It just sounds over-rehearsed.
3. Nothing's wrong, but it's not great. You need to create interest and curiosity.
