I know many people are going to disagee with me, but i think the saying that this was the first enterprise is inaccurate. Many people forget the NX-01 under Archer, even though it wasnt a Federation ship (as the federation wasnt established yet), and it might have been a prototype but it was the first, which makes kirk's the 2nd.
Actually, more like the fifth Enterprise, but if you're just talking about starships-then yes, Kirk's Enterprise is the second Starship Enterprise but it is the first Federation Starship Enterprise.
The NX-01 was an attempt by Paramount to make additional money from gullible fans.
If any of you were more than casual viewers, you would know that in the Star Trek timeline the first starship to be named enterprise was the very starship that was shown in the original series.
@bspinvestigator02 If one British sailor is talking to another about the first Enterprise, they'll mention the first in their fleet. It will be assumed they're not talking about ships from other governments (The French had one), or independent ships, or ships from extinct government entities.
Mr. Sander, Models have been the backbone of sci-fi since day one! CGI is a good augment, but that closeup of a model is superior. Argue with me about the "Grand Fly By' on the "Next Generation". The only better thing, is the real ship. (CGI that) It will happen. =Stefan=
THANK YOU! there is some one who realizes that after all. Models look real, most computers graphics dont- plus, u can appriciate sci-fi way more when u look at how ppl made these things look wut there supposed to look like, instead of lettin the computer do it
The Enterprise-A and Kirk's refitted consitution class Enterprise from the first Star Trek until Star Trek 3 are like identical in every way. I saw more detail in it in Star Trek's V and VI but thats about all.
Phaser, actually, they are not. There are definate differences in the upgrade, and the "Alpha". You just have to look. Oh, and also be a "Trekker" since '66. (Sep08 to be exact). =Stefan=
Dadunham, I am an original Trekker from 8Sep66. I know my ship! I agree, the CGI looks like crap compared to the model. Yes, I can tell the difference. However, that is how the industry is going. No more model ships. It is all CGI. (That sucks)!!!What do you think? =Stefan=
Now, that beautiful lady IS *THE* Enterprise

Baloney. Matt Jeffries' ENTERPRISE was first. All the rest are pale imitations.

i do agree with that, and i see youve taken the non star ship enterprise in to account also.
summer247 4 years ago
Yes-the sailing ship, the aircraft carrier, the space shuttle, and Enterprise NX-01.
JemHadar359 4 years ago
NX-01 does not count. The series sucked and could not be included in Star Trek Canon!!!

Most of CGIs really sucks, compared to the real models. Some CGI are great for movies like Cars or Toy Story. I prefer real models.

cgi sucks???? are you nuts
sanderrodijk 4 years ago
just b/c u can't see the bueaty in CGI, i think its a vast improvement from the original, for this day and age anyway.

Do the Enterprise-D and Voyager!
RayburnPower 4 years ago
I am working on an Enterprise-D video right now. For the sake of chronology, Voyager will have to come after Deep Space Nine.

Wow, you can really tell the difference between the model work and the CGI. The CGI stuff looks like crap!
