I had terrible panic attacks out of the clear blue and was placed on Paxil.. The drug worked so well I would tell people ever morning I'll get down and kiss the asses of the manufactures because I had my life back... that was until I was able to gather myself and no longer needed the medication. I am a college educated registered nurse and I NEVER thought, read or was told I that paxil withdraw would have push me to the edge of my very being.
Don´t mean to be rude or anything but I see hardly no differance at all between the pictures? Ive been on Paxil a couple of years ago and nothing happened with my weight then. But a few months ago I was on Remeron and I gained like 7 kg in a month so I stopped taking them. Awful.
I just started this crap, and other than feeling a little jittery every once in a while (compared to LIVING like that), I think it's totally awesome. I now ride roller coasters again, ride my motorcycle again, and do all sorts of stuff that would otherwise cause me anxiety. I think it works better for anxiety than for depression. Just my 2-cents worth...
When I was on paxil I gained about 40 lbs. in just 9 months, and the withdrawal symptoms from there were terrible. Took me another 2 months to get off it. It really does distort your body
I actually lost a lot of weight the first month I was on Paxil. I looked anorexic, it wasn't pretty.
It can either make you lose or gain. I guess I will never know if it was due to the depression or the drug, as many other physical effects. In a sense I'm happy I lost because when I went back to my normal weight there were no side effects.
I'm sorry you had to go through the hell that is paxil.
michlimania- have you ever been on paxil? if not i suggest you keep your damn mouth shut. paxil lowers your matabolism. it is pure hell to quit. it causes aweful withdrawl symptoms, weight gain, nightmares, and even sexual dysfunction. all i can say is that pattygoat is a troup for being able to quit it.
Ive just started. I feel much better, but am worried about the possibility of weight gain. But Im gonna stay vigilant. Anyway, thanks for posting. However, I dont believe that your experience is the only kind. People w/ positive experiences are less likely to post as those w/ negitive experiences. Anywho...Ill be weary, thanks
I met this girl 7 years ago,at that time she was diagnosed with borderliner, (I just think she had a very low selfesteem, she also suffered from anorexia..
now I met her again two years ago under similar circumstances..
I reckognised her because of her beautiful eyes (bright green, although looking at her made me wanna cry,I felt so bad for her still being trapped inside the psychiatric system after all those years..,she was obese (from anorexia to obesity within 5 years)and was taking seroxat..
Maybe a 10kg (22 pounds)gain does not make a large impression on you, and that's OK. What we are talking about here, though, are gains of 30-40 kg or so, quite enough to distort a person's appearance beyond recognition and to cause major health problems. To me and many others, no pill is worth that.
no offense but i've been on paxil for two years now and i haven't gained any more weight. In fact i've been losing weight and i've been running marathons thanks to t he drug and it's energy benefits.
I think I went for about 2 years before I STARTED weight gain. A little at a time, just a pound here and there, and the next thing I knew I weighed 4 lbs more than when I started!
Please type in Ban Paxil using your google search engine and sign the petition if you believe that Paxil is a bad drug

I am sorry, but it is not Paxil that made you gain weight, but your neurotic inability to close your mouth when it comes to food.

lol, I meant 40 lbs more!! Man.
terrap420 4 years ago
so you didn't see the weight gain till later? Why does it only make you gain weight after two years?
madmaxsdp 4 years ago
It's different for everyone. Different body chemistries, different reactions.
terrap420 4 years ago 2
i think that weight gain is a very small price to pay for sufferers i myself went for a healthy 60-65kg up to 75kg on a SSIR but its only weight!
