It is always a mistake to lump whole groups of people into a generalization. If we did, we would think that all Muslims are Taliban and all Christians KKK. No one anywhere on this site is saying that the atrocities occurring in Gaza should be anything but CONDEMNED. I know Jews who condemn it, just as I know Muslims and Christians who condemn it.

Rena and I laughed a lot. She had an amazing sense of humor. She used to complain that Holocaust survivors are all so, "Whoa is me... I survived Auschwitz..."

In a class on Resiliency and the Human Spirit, which teaches her book, Rena was asked how she got over the trauma. "I had babies." She was worried that was not "smart" enough for college graduates. But it was real. What else does one do after surviving genocide?

In fact, upon the birth of her first child, she looked around the and burst into tears and said, "I love you, doctor, and my husband, and my nurse and my baby, I LOVE the whole world even with the Germans in it."
And when Rena spoke at Salem College in 1995, she spent an hour with the German Prof, who was a child in WWII, and spent 2 years in a camp for German prisoners (with his family) after the war. They held hands and wept for the trials the had faced as young people. He sent his entire class to hear her speak that night. And later told me he felt that years of pain had been healed by receiving her forgiveness for what his family had done. She did not blame him. Rena's Promise is love.

Dead people are gone -and at PEACE (wherever it is) but jews insist on continuing to suffer.
But the truth is that jews love to suffer and remember horrible things about the past.
And they're going to make sure that EVERYBODY remembers with them. Over and over - make sure the children in school suffers with them also.
And God, forbid that they should forgive..do not forgive Germans.
And above all beat down, anybody that EVEN thinks of questioning..but all that is changing.
