  • masterpiece

  • That's pretty hard breakcore.

  • Squarepusher and Ventian Snares are pretty different artists that are both fantastic. Stop bitching.

  • im a fart pusher

  • megatron would brock out so hard to this one.

  • squarepusher is child's play compared to this!

  • @TheMushroomsAreHere it s just the oposite in my opinion :) squarepusher is technically much more impressive and it s soooo more twisted that venetian snares stuff which are finally always the same breaks and the same tricks...

  • @hosmozzz

    Fair enough.

Squarepussher is technically more complex and more interesting. However, compared to the intensity that this track has to offer, I do think that this trups squarepussher (in that sense that is)

  • @TheMushroomsAreHere I'm not sure Squarepusher is more technical. Somebody once said "Aphex Twin" (especially his Mont Saint Michel) could match VSnares, but this is objectively untrue. I believe Squarepusher is a good artist, but he's no match to Aaron in terms of technicity.

  • listen to squarepusher - menelec

  • @TheMushroomsAreHere Only if you knew the huge difference between the planning and perfection of squarepusher, and then... well, this.

  • @stickmister321 the way i see it anyone who puts their emotion, time, dedication, and focus into their formulates a form of music that is "intelligent" I slave and slave over my sound and from i understand brilliant artists such as Aaron here do alot of the same. Any music created with dedication and heart is great music in my opinion, no matter how obscure it may be, squarepusher and V snares are very different but both are unique and brilliant for what they are

  • @yourhiddendreams Don't worry, I commented awhile back before I bought any lp's from him.

However, I haven't found what I have looked for, could you tell me what you prefer? I'm looking for the most complex, but accurate and well planned structure.

  • @stickmister321 well the album huge chrome cylinder unfolding is one of my favorites by him, also its a hard find but the track "prophylactic eye head" has some really insane composition its from Horse and Goat

about other music that is complex with a well planned structure, I like Autechre a lot,

I love obscure and expressive music, have you ever heard of intolerance records? its a fairly underground lable. also check out planet.mu sometime they host a lot of

    brilliant compositions

  • i pooped

  • It's like, Squarepusher!

  • @crissangel156 MORE BRUTAL.

  • music for anii

  • It's called breakcore, bitch! (VSnares is massive!)

  • This video lacks a second top comment.

  • Good pictures of adipose tissue

  • one of my favs!

  • he sampled "skin" from siouxsie and the banshees, that's why the track's called like that.

  • aha maad

  • this guy is a maniac. i love the 7/4 time of his music too.

  • Took me 2 weeks to understand AND like this song. And i had the album on repeat on media player. It's mageek.

  • You know what... Shit on the head of anyone saying this kinda music is crazy randomness, its not. It is extremely hard to put together a decent breakcore song, and he makes his song in one or two days. Those who say this is fucked up, how about you try and make something better.

  • breakcore win (Y)

  • he does actually use renoise now.

  • he uses trackers.

  • Picture lasers flying everywhere, glowsticks, flames, in excess of 100 people jumping around raving like there's no tomorrow.

  • i hear drexciya sampels, awesome.

  • use fruity loops :)

  • its called breakcore and its the best.

  • Holy FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • what, 7/8 and 200 bpm. CRAZY!!! D:

  • @TillHawks HOLY SHIT!!

  • numnumnumnumnumnum

  • So all those times I randomly pounded on my dad's drum kit as a kid was actually considered music?

  • @sonicpsycho13 This actually has a beat

  • hahahaha he sampled Drexciya XD, cool.

  • what are the vocals saying?

  • dn't know....but the vocals are from siouxsie and the banshees

  • @implantdnb lalalalalahh.... wtf.

  • @implantdnb LA LA La La la la laaa.....

  • What genre of music is this?

    What do you call it?

  • Breakcore

    Glitchcore

    IDM

    Orchestral music

    Noise

  • @xOVERKILLx117x does it matter?

  • I gave up trying to make a sound similar to this awhile ago. If I released anything, it would leave a dent in Aaron's ingenuity.

  • @spick1923 Obviously you haven't listened to enough venetian snares or Squarepusher enough, their formulas are vastly different, yet both of them cover a wide range of different musical styles i can see how they overlap occasionally, but you seriously think they're the same? Even if it were so, Venetian snares came before squarepusher by two years. I still love them both.

  • @upsetclown2000 obviously you say things just to try and sound clever.

i have been listening to both these artist since day dot, don't make

assumptions about what other people may or may not do, especially

when you make mis-informed statements like you have hear

funks first album Eat Shit And Die (1998) tom had been releasing albums

for 5 years before this, i hate to be pedantic about music but get your facts

straight before you go around blowing hot air at people cheers then...

  • @spick1923 Obviously you just like to say things to start useless confrontation. Aaron had been self releasing work since 1992 and many of his first albums re-released those songs. His first release on a label was Greg Hates Car Culture (1999). I love both of them, but next time, don't just take a 10 second look at a wikipedia article to try and sound smart on the internet.

  • @upsetclown2000 another misguided assumption based on information you don't have, it's confrontational to suggest what a person may or may not know about anything, unless you generally have a good reason to suggest otherwise, which you do not, you know nothing about me but are very quick to suggest otherwise,

  • @spick1923 Seeing as how the facts have already been discussed, i'm going to just listen to the music and suggest you do to. I think people of our intelligence are above petty fights over youtube.

  • know what u mean ±S

  • what is this music its like drum and bass but faster

  • it's called breakcore

  • @lmperia or breakbeat.

  • @lmperia actualy its "drill 'n' bass"

  • @baraboem Breakcore.

  • @lmperia casetteplaya have great fashiontrail with breakcore :D

  • @8RaNDoM8 "what is this music its like drum and bass but faster" I think you'll find its like drum and bass but better!

  • @8RaNDoM8 and better :D breakcore is the shit

  • @8RaNDoM8 it's calling progressive Drum and bass . it's an electronica subgenre

  • @maelpixesaat

    what

  • @MooseHeadMoosic i made a mistake ,actually it's breakcore

  • @8RaNDoM8 i prefer to call it IDM....but its breakcore

  • eh, i dunno, as far as the whole Reason thing goes, been using it for a couple years now, and there's just something up with the production; i don't know if they're trying to emulate analogue or what, but Funk's breakcore, by nature, thrives on the most clear, crisp digital production. Reason just can't even step to Live or Renoise when it comes to clarity; I've been trying all sorts of shit to make kick ass dnb in reason, then realized, no one who makes this shit uses Reason for a...reason.

  • software are simply tools. no one gets this stuff sounding as good as it does without getting it mastered (probably on external gear).

  • @mikejdoyle

    NU:TONE

    logistics

  • @mikejdoyle

Yellow Yhen Blue uses reason, and he makes some crazy breaks.

  • @mikejdoyle its usually sample / tracker based effects that cut stuff up very harshly. renoise is a modern tracker. P.S having tried many of these programs, im not a fan of reason, seems very windows 95 :)

  • Wow, they used a Jedi Mind Tricks line 2:45! That's awesome

  • I LOVE the breakdown at 3:55

  • breakdown's is what Venetian Snares is all about, taking the time to get to know them and appreciating the build up towards isnt a thing most people are capable off ;)

  • I highly doubt he used Reason for this, perhaps for the basslines and lead synths, but these drums are way too fast and sliced up for the Redrum to handle, trust me, I've tried it myself and the sounds just mashes together mostly, Reason is not the type of program one would prefer to use for music like this, I'm guessing this is made with Renoise mostly, that program is way better suited for extremely rapid beats and rythms.

  • Reason can do this sort of music easy, I've made much faster glitch than this and it sounds fine. Your Redrum channels probably aren't all switched to 'end-sample-on-end-note' mode or whatever you call it. I use Rex's anyway though because all the controls affecting the whole device rather than one sample.

But yeah, he wouldn't have used Reason to make this song.

  • @narki86 ....

i get your point kind of...but you can do this with reason trust me...if you have dr.rex you can make this shit but you have to be sure to be ok with the waves of the samples...sound shadows cancellations etc etc.

It can be done..and if not in Dr.rex for sure in NNXT but for all of you..the guy uses Reaktor mostly....to make his sounds.

And then additional software to make the actual song ofcourse because you can not do this is reaktor xD

  • i still think he uses octamed by atari for some of his stuff, but i think he is prob using reason here.

  • I hear he uses mostly Renoise, which ironically uses the same file extension as Reason (.rns). But otherwise the two apps are unrelated.

  • also where can u get the programs and items that you make this with?

  • i don't know what he used to make this song but i know, today, he works with renoise and ableton live. just google the programs.

  • @lmperia with a bit time to pratice you can handle this kinda usic with the cheaper software Fruity Loops as well

  • @lmperia I have ableton live lite and have been afraid to mess around with it with out the full version or just in general. I wasn't that great with fruity loops 3 & 4. Any suggestions to learn beat making?

  • @DevilJins are you a breakcore superstar yet?

  • @DevilJins

ableton live is probably the best choice and you should make sure to get a midi controler (with pads and knobs) to controll the effects and the slices.

there are awsome tutorials on here just look up "ableton breakcore tutorial"

  • @DevilJins Venetian Snare (Aaron Funk) makes a series of samples and strings them together. Musical artwork really.

  • @DevilJins

    Pirate Renoise.

    Download some breakbeat samples.

    Slice them, rearrange them

    Play back at 200BPM

  • i'm also DLing this.

  • Best vsnares track of all time.

  • awsome song

    wierd picture

  • word =]

    btw... sharpnelmusic..?

    DJ Sharpnel.. Sharpnelsound... Stepmania :P

Or doesn't that comply to you? :P

  • what..?

  • nvm... thought for one moment that you were DJ Sharpnel :P And DJ Sharpnel (Sharpnelsound) makes music that's often used in the game Stepmania (just like this song btw ;))

But I saw your profile and concluded that you're not DJ Sharpnel ;)

  • yep just a fan :D

  • DJ Sharpnel is a awsome tech maker,as well Venetian Snares,ASD, and DM Ashura.

  • sharpnel has some awesome tracks indeed and DM ashura and V-snares are great too, but I don't know asd, however FFR (if you frequently download simfiles you might know it) made me know all these artists. couldn't agree with you more about their awesomeness
