Being in the USA I had not heard of Elaine Page. Now I am so lucky to know both of these wonderful singers. Why compare them when they compliment each other in such a fantastic way. They are singers in their own right and together they are like the fourth of July. First of all: You can't compare Susan and Elaine. They're both great, but different: Susan has no train at all; Elaine is a true singer, she has been working her voice for many many years.

Second: Elaine gets the parts because she HAS talent, not because she knows "people in good places". It was not easy for her to get to where she is today.. Now she has success, but she has already been without ANY money, completely broken. So, yes, she had to push

I listen to EP version and find that she is an extremely good and seasoned singer, she really is a great entertainer, singer and master in the art she is in. I agree that Elaine Page has class and I think it is unfair to compare two singers unless one is spectacularly bad. I love so many different singers who have taken some song and made it uniquely their own.u

Pwesonally I loved Patti LuPone singing "I had a dream" , but also have enjoyed many other artists. Susan Boyle included, with her rendition.

What makes a song memorable is when the singer makes it speaks to you, or evokes certain emotions. The great ones can do that!

But Susan Boyle will take her place among the great entertainers. Her story is fun to relate and relive over and over. Check out Donald Braswell on YouTube singing "You Raise Me Up" for his America's Got Talent audition, having previously lost his ability to speak much less sing for several years as the result of an accident. On his first audition he came out in a crumpled business suit and the crowd was mocking him like they did Susan and America was worse, they started booing him, but instead of running off the stage, he kept singing and his voice is a God given gift that turned the crowd around to where they were giving him a standing ovation like they did Susan.
