I don't understand how you can't keep a piccolo leveled. It's like 10 inches long! A flute is hard to keep parallel because it's so long and heavier than a piccolo.
this is truely amazing, when I play piccolo, I get this horrible background noise, especially on lower notes like C and D, how do you stop this when playing piccolo?
Hi, I am a student in Middle school and I have to play a difficult song for our concert which involves a solo on the piccolo. I only have three years of flute experience and I really need some advice.
Anything you can tell me that will help me switch from flute to piccolo and to get clear sound and the ability to hit high notes.
@oxPolinaBluexo13 Hi, I've been playing the flute for about 4 1/2 years now and piccolo for about 2. The key is perfecting your embochure.( sorry, no spellcheck!) you want to keep your lips in place, but try to keep the rest of your face more relaxed. Practice in a mirror and if you have dimples, this will work great. Put your piccolo up and act like you are going to play your Bb. Can you see your dimples? If you can, then it's too tight. Just work on that and do long tones to help with tone. :)
i was pretty sure that he used double tonguing. I was back then just beginning to learn double tonguing and i was just really impressed by the speed and clarity at the end.
you are fantastic! any advice for a fellow flute and pic player? I definately think I have potential im just not sure how or what to practice. any info is appreciated
@ralphpaulflute Freakollo is not published yet, but in Lior's website you can find more stuff for the piccolo. you have a link to his website in the description section, or just google Lior Eitan. he is a great guy and he have some more stuff for the piccolo, not just mine.
@ralphpaulflute Should you learn to play flute before you play the piccolo? I'd like to learn to play it at some point in the future and am just starting to learn the fife, which I gather is used to start flautists sometimes.
This comment isn't a response to your response, just thought may stand a better chance of response if directed at you in particular. Thanks
Oh god. That's amazing. I just started on piccolo at the beginning of this school year, I absolutely adore it. I finally got my own piccolo for Christmas, a cheap one, but a piccolo none-the-less. =)
erm...hiie! nice playing! Can you give me some tips on what should i do so that i could play higher notes? i cant seem to play high notes properly with my piccolo..
I'm guessing you name is Ralph, well anyways I am Marching piccolo next year for Marching Band and I was wondering if the all plastic body is better to withstand the heat. I know that the all metals one are most likely to fluctuate, but I just want the type of piccolo that is less likely to go sharp or flat as easy as others would out in the heat. Thanks, Oh and you Rock!!!
I march piccolo in my marching band and you are better off using the metal piccolo. Being in a marching band there are a lot of people and you need something that is a little more loud and fierce you could say. The plastic one is too pretty. The only that is going to happen when you play outside is you are going to get sharp so be sure to pull out and you should be fine. Good luck! If you have any questions or advice, feel free to ask me anytime!
Hello lilmrsvoorhees, thanks for your comment, i have always played on a wooden piccolo, so i don`t know how the intonation of a plastic or metal piccolo would change in the heat. I think tcrflute1994 made a good point. If you are interested in playing classical music too (solo or orchestra), i believe that you get the best sound on a wooden piccolo.Good luck

Someone should make a super cool animated background so it looks like he is flying or something why he is playing.
