  • Which one of the Velvets sang " Jesus, help me find my proper place, help me in my weakness, 'cause I'm falling out of grace" ?

    so ethereal

    Which album is it on?

  • By now, this reminds me of St. Vincent's and 9/11. Past, present, future. And then the morning, every time.

  • tonight he played a superb 10/15 minutes version of this song

  • @musicshake and a superb version of the bells too :D i was there

Scaletta: Who loves the sun, Senselessy Cruel, All Through the night, Ecstasy, Small Town, Mother (John Lennon), Venus in Furs, Sunday Morning, Femme Fatale, Waves of Fear, Sweet Jane.......Encore 1: Charlie's Girl, Boogie With you, The Bells.....Encore 2: Pale Blue Eyes

  • Brilliant, Lou. One of your best.

  • Such a great sound in this record.

  • This brings back great memories of eating acid with amazing, intelligent, fun people. Mark you were the best of all of us... and you are missed brother.

  • i love this song

  • @MrJaysync

    yessir

  • poor mess haha, this is wonderful. lou reed drunk the best. i WISH HE WOULD START DRINKING AGAIN, so he could make masterpieces like this

  • Lester Bangs reviewed The Bells for Rolling Stone when it came out. He quoted the lines as: 'The city's funny and the country's quiet / But I wanna know why they don't have a riot'

Great, powerful album, Disco Mystic notwithstanding.

  • Lou as David Byrne. Cool.

  • @ziffels That's hilarious! Something like saying Mozart ripped off Stockhausen!

  • i saw him play this live. i took a shot at the reel-to-reel with my 9mm. a good christian stands in the 3'oclock stance versus this jew.

  • you don't know what a good christian is, obviously.

  • yes i wish i hadn't said that. he had me all upset about that blue mask album song called "the gun".

  • What does "the gun" have to do with this song? And what about your stance vs. "this jew"?

  • he said he was going to put a gun in my mouth and make me watch him rape my wife. i think israel is a usa base in the middle east. they modify f-22 stealth fighters. why didn't he sing about the f-22 instead?

  • you're a fucking moron.

  • let's hope he's a moron....

  • well, that clears that up. you never know when you're talkin to a psycho--or a moron

  • @birdhaldol get ur political shit outa here!

  • @birdhaldol DUDE! U NEED TO GET A GRIP! U PUT SHAME ON UR GOD!

  • Oh, Hell yes!

  • A great story from a great singer-storyteller.

  • "The drinks are on the house are on me" Don't quite now what that menas but it is a cool line.

  • the drinks aren't on the house they're on me.

as in he's paying for them. they aren't free.

  • He works at the place. The house won't give drinks out, but is okay with employees treating people out of their own pocket.

  • Comment removed

  • for once jesus makes some sense

  • @CF127 he is the house, he's buying the drinks - he's as good as the house!

  • @CF127 you answered your own question its a cool line because thats why the house buys the drinks thats what happens in a bar in NEW YORK

  • This is a great album... but I think all of Lou Reed albums are great.

  • His words illuminate the power of night.

  • really true song

  • I played this tune till the tape got worn out I think!!! It just never lost my mind,,, what a Classic of Classics,,, and so few I know even know of this tune!!! Solid Gold!!!

  • wow. :( this vid makes me so sad. some1 msg me!! xD f
