to bearshark9 You got "Elvis" and then theres "Mike Ness"! that pretty much sums it up. just about everyone I know calls me crazy for that exact same statement. they just don't get it.
fuck all u losers who probably just heard social d a year ago and call yourselves punx! Punk rock is about doing new things and being different! besides social distortion was playing punk rock in '79 when most of you so called "punk rockers" were not even born yet! You got "Elvis" and then theres "Mike Ness"! Do the research fuckers!
so are you saying some one who wasn't born when they started or just discovered them is less of a fan than you? ......grow up, you say punk is about doing your own thing! then all the people saying fuck you i like social D and i'm only 13 i heard them yesterday go cry elsewhere old man! are pretty punk rock then.
@BEARSHARK9 you suck dude. leave the kids alone... if you are gunna attack them like that and they are gunna stick up for themselves, that makes them more punk than you, and you just an asshole. so fuck off.
@BEARSHARK9 Last summer I was fortunate enough to see Social Distortion again and take my daughter at the tender age of one and half she had a blast and at the show there were a number of people there with there kids. For there last song Mike Ness invited everyone with a younger person to the front of the stage. So I say to you my daughter has more punk rock in her stool than you could ever think of having.Oh and by the way I was around in 79. To all you new Social D fans welcome its a fun ride!
Some people need to get over their immature, petty music labels they gained and couldn't let go of in high school and their ability to give a crap about what people wear. Fuck what people wear! It ain't important. Music is universal and it's not about who's the better singer or who's been though more shit and how authentic they are. Just enjoy the tunes and make more music.
Wow according to a lot of people on here Eddie must be a punk rocker now. IDK since I dont believe that SD is real punk rock. More like Rockabilly. Rock on Mike.
that is atom willard...social d's drummer and belive me he rocks..seen him twice with the band green bay and az....he's keeping the bandsounding fresh
I don't particularly like PJ, and its weird to see this hippie looking guy (Vedder) on stage during "ball & chain", but I'll give him credit for apparantly having some good taste. This was also evidenced by the times he shared the stage with Ramones (the best was Joey joining PJ on stage for a version of the Dead Boys' "sonic reducer", even tho Joey killed on the song and Eddie, well, didn't).
SD is more popular now than ever before. Wonder what Ness would have thought if we went back to 1982 and told him he'd have the respect of many awesome musicians.
Boo hoo hoo, Eddie ruined the song. Do you think you could do better than Eddie? No, nobody can. Do you think Eddie cares what you think about his clothing? I don't think he cares about impressing guys who would comment about what he is wearing. Wish I was there. So happy I went on youtube today. Pearl Jam has been my favorite band from since Ten! My children love them too! Along with Disney songs, Spongebob songs, and Backyardigan songs. Hope they come to B-lo again soon.
With all due respect to Mike Ness the songwriter....he isnt the best "GUITARIST" in anybody's era. Very average guitar player....one of the best songwriters of all time though! Mcready is in another league.
@jdmccallen28 I'm a huge Mike Ness fan. He's not even as good as Two bags....and Johny isnt even on the radar. He is one of the best songwriters of all time. Not one of the best guitarists. That said he does produce excellent tone....its just that the degree of difficulty is not there. Ask any guitar player who is an SxDx fan....like me.
@jdmccallen28 I'm as big a Mike Ness fan as the next guy...but here's the deal, Mike is a songwriter who produces excellent tone from his guitars. Amazing voice. HE IS NOT A GUITAR GOD. Ask anyone who plays.....like me.....the degree of difficulty is NOT THERE. He is a legend.....but lets not say silly stuff about his guitar skills. Brian Setzer...now that guy can play!
@jdmccallen28 I'm not wrong at all. Mike Ness is a master of songwriting, guitar TONE, and vocals, as well as stage presence. He's not a hack with the axe....but trust me...he's no Brian Setzer.
That was so cool! I've seen them play together in LA a few years ago, but ed didn't such a big part like this! Thanks for recording! This gave me the chills- I love PJ and I like SD a whole LOT!
social distortion are a kick-ass band. fuck off with your politics. just dig it.

Love Social D, hate Perl Jam. This is one of my favorite songs, and Eddy Vedder is ruining it.
