  • luv this band, going to see them in birmingham uk,great band backing them up in liberty lies, local from the black country the heart of hard rock n roll, where heavy metal was born

  • wrestlemania 22... rey mysterio world champion :D

  • Damn Impressive Live.

  • These TV shows that have a band on them always make the band sound worse. I'm not saying Shinedown was bad, but it did make them sound worse than normal.

  • he can realy sing beatyfull but here he sang sometimes out of tune but I realy love it and we all know he sing real and dont playback :)

  • nobody is better then shinedown

  • awesome!!!

  • aw back in the day when Zach Myers wasnt the main guitarist. this is amazing.

  • Chiffonade...i too saw these guys when i lived in Tampa. Do u remember the festival concert Livestock in Zephyrhills. Thats where i first saw them. They didnt even have a Fly From the Inside as a single yet. I believe it was 2001 or 2002. I remember saying to myself...wow this band has major potential. And look at them now! Ive seen these guys over 10 times in concert. In festival lawns to studio type ampitheatres and they sound great everywhere. True talent in Brents voice!

  • @TheDrunkenNinja09 Yeah, most def! I saw them recently on Palladia, and i was so impressed, they've become one of my faves! Seeing them live would have to be amazing!

  • Shinedown is on my list of "must see" bands!!

  • @incutat I saw them at rock city in nottingham a couple of years back , they were the support band for Disturbed but to be completely honest they crapped all over Disturbed and to me they were the headliners that night . If you get the chance to go see them take it !

  • I love Brent Smith

  • Brent's voice was kind of all over the place in this one. Definitely not one of his better performances.

  • @TominatorJ Bet he can sing better than you douschebag

  • @vivalanat3 I bet you can get on your knees and slob his knob better than I can too, you little groupie.

I didn't say he couldn't sing you illiterate fuck. I just said this wasn't one of his better performances.

  • @vivalanat3 He's not a douche, he makes a good point. He's actually right.

  • Chorus isn't great, but otherwise, it's great.

  • i would pay to see them sing happy birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • watch them do simple man

  • I first saw Shinedown at Harpo's in Detroit when they were debuting their album....They were the headliner Halestorm opening...both bands were completely awesome...It was so great seeing them up and close, where today it will cost u $100's to get that close....Awesome live show for both bands....

  • i saw them live with there debut album and they rocked the house down

  • hell ya love his voice bad ass

  • i love the live performances!!!!!!!!!!

  • God, I love this band. I find the lyrics uplifting and spiritual without being overtly religious. Brent has one of the most powerful and melodic voices in rock today. I was lucky enough to see Shinedown live a couple of times when I lived in Tampa. If you have an opportunity to see them, run, don't walk.

  • I have noticed that so many people compare thier live performances to thier recorded music. The true fact is that live music will always be inconsistent and have mistakes in comparison the the recorded albums. There are no voice scrubbers or second takes. If recorded music is what you prefer, then just stay with that, but don't criticize a live performance based on thier studio recordings. Live performances are exactly that, a performance, and they do it well.

  • Dam straight Filoni6, one of the best voices I have heard in rock...Two tumbs up for that statement..

  • so many fanboys... listen to it... not nearly as good as the redcording

  • the chorus is absolutely terrible in this. can't even listen to the whole video because Smith can't hit the notes

  • @cletiger1010 seriously????????????? sounds almost the same as the recorded version if not better!!!!!!!!!!

  • @paulak10 have you lost your mind? and ears? the chorus is horrible.

  • @paulak10 No. No it doesn't.

  • Even on a bad day they still outshine some of the bands I've heard live..

  • I love this song and i was sooooo happy when it was a theme song for Wrestlemania!!!!!!

  • BRENT SMITH = YUMMY!!! XD <3 great band! :) i love them!!!!

  • not too bad live, its a shame he cant hit the high notes though.

  • 49 people burned themselves walking through the fire and thus have no taste in music, must be beiber fans ...*shudders*

  • @TyriaelSoban LOL...WHY? why? Does someone always have to bring "him" into it....You can find that name in the comments of every music video on yt.

  • @2unearth

i dunno, i just felt like being mean to the little cretin ...

  • 3:01 Fucking. Epic.

  • As of now the band consists of...

    lead guitar -zach myers

    bass -eric bass

    drums -barry kerch

    vocals -brent smith

...and they're one fucking great band I must add!

  • wrestlemania 22 :')

  • Yeah... I am surprised... he went pretty flat on the chorus a couple times.

  • Three guitarists?!?

  • @icrevice Lead. Rhythm. And bassist.

  • @icrevice rhythm, bass, and lead

  • @icrevice nah, a bassist and 2 guitarists

  • My fav Shinedown song yet, no video made for it. sad

  • To all the people saying "I was expecting his voice to go higher" you have to realize a couple things #1 Bands as big as Shinedown are constantly touring, and the voice is not and Instrument it is a muscle (you try singing for 1-2 hours a day high pitch for 1 week then sing perfect high notes at the end of the week) #2 Studio is a lot easier cause they record in bits,or they can sing on their own terms.

  • @LJMProject Its not so much the high notes (although I know exactly what you're saying) its the fact that he's constantly shouting them out at like 110% at all times for every song, day in and day out. One way to look at it is that he's slaughtering his voice to make it that much more emotional...but he cant do this forever :S

  • 1:03 , 1:07 and 1:10 in the chorus his voice doesn't go that high naturally. I was listening to it, and whoa. FAIL.

But other then that this band is amazing <33

  • ALL OF THE SHINEDOWN DUDE HAVE AMAZING HAIR!!! (Especially the drummer dude... ^^) ANYONE WHO AGREES, PLEASE THUMBS-UP!!! =D

  • i love how shinedown sounds back in the "old days".

  • Brillient Video Its Awesome Keep Up The Good WORK

  • Bren Smith has one of the most beautiful voices in the world!!!!

  • you shouldn't record vocals you know you can't reproduce live. fail.

  • @hellboymaine They wrote the song, so they're entitled to perform it however the hell they wish.

  • Comment removed

  • @hellboymaine RIGHT? I was like... damn. Whatta fail.

  • i must be hearing this song wrong.. this dont sound like .. what they used to be.. maybe its my cold ..

  • He must work on his vocals...

  • @Woodsaras You need to work on your taste in music. ;D

  • For those of you who are complaining about "how flat Brent's voice is during the chorus," why don't you go on TV and try to do better, yourself. You know you couldn't.

  • I definitely like this version better, even with the mistakes, than the lip synced choruses on the COM tour

  • I like that flat Black Es-335! pretty cool!

  • i've just been introduced to this band 10 minuthes ago... BUT OMFG ITS AWESOME!

  • @Rassamdul did you by any chance hear Daughtry's audition cover of this song on american idol?.... I bet that's how many people heard of shinedown

  • @DarkLionInteractive Nope :) was just surfing around on some post grunge forums and then some bloke was writing about it :)

  • @Rassamdul either way, it remains one of my favorite bands......

  • i cannot find this song in audio swap.. can u help me..

  • Behold the old sound of Shinedown, now the new sound of Fuel. Jasin on guitar is insane, in either band. Fuel is the new old Shinedown!

  • 48 people are fags

  • I dare you to post your own cover and sing it better, LMFAO

  • hmm I have seen shinedown do better live but this was a while back I have seen them live in this past year and they have done amazing both times so yeah they rock

  • ive heard this song before and i been trying to find it ever since. i never thought it was shinedown lol

  • This Is insane

  • <3 it!!!

  • he sounds so awesome

  • i like the way he sings the "and call me a liar" in the chorus better this chorus

  • these guys are awesome live or in studio. if being able to actually sound good live is sounding like shit then these guys are 100 tons of it. but since we know better darkfire33690 you douchebag, crawl back into your hole.

  • the band sounds really, really good here. but the lead singer is just terrible in that chorus. Just plain awful.

  • the band sounds amazing! brent is flat on his high notes! its crazy wat pitch correctors such as antaries, can do for singers! if ur gonna do it in the studios ,then do it live!

  • @codyryan22 Ever thought that vocalists start to get under alot of pressure on tours as it is putting constant strain on their voice, so they can't sing as well as they could at the start of the tour?

  • damn even with his voice going a little he still tries to sing it as hard as he can...thats why he is my favorite singer....no holding back

  • ive seen shinedown 4 times and will see them a 5th time in bham alabama oct 1st and every time ive seen them they have sounded great. actually they've sounded better ea time ive seen them

  • people like palgrim love to watch youtube and criticize GREAT vocalists on their live performances, based on how well they sing the song exactly like it is on the album the way Brittany Spears and Justin Beiber can. People like this have no musical talent, and no vocal experience, and should thus keep STUPID their comments to themselves!

  • they sound great live. Most rock bands don't sound as good as their studio versions. Part of the problem is there often in buildings with rubbish accousic. But also you have to remember that these guys spend much of their life singing, and it it takes it's toll. My favourite band breaking Benjamin sounds pretty awful in many of their live performances.

  • One of the few bands that sound better live/acoustic... watched save me?

  • I saw Shinedown i concert and right before they preformed this song Bten said, "If you wont stand behind our military troups, I fuckin dare you to stand infront of them!!"

  • @2134Taylor i mean brent.

  • omg.

  • He didn't hit the high note well, but they did a decent job on this one. I'm not saying I hate the band (cuz I love their music) but live performances are kinda a hit and miss with them. (Although I am just judging from random performances I see online) He has a good voice but maybe he should write songs that have lower notes in the future. He seems to flub up the high notes in a lot of songs. However, overall, the band is great.

  • I love how Brent can take parts of the song and sing them differently then he does and it still sounds awesome. Thats also one of the ways that you can tell that he is definantly not lip syncing. This band is amazing, and still is, I can't wait until their next album comes out next year (or at least, thats when they have said it will probably come out, they havn't gone into the studio yet)

  • There must be something wrong with me. Ever since I was a kid like 11 years old...all that I wanted to do was to be in a long-haired rock n roll band. Shinedown is a modern rendition of exactly that. These guys are superb at what they do. This song ROCKS!!!! By the way, the drumming is outstanding beyond the norm if ya know what I'm saying!

  • @TheDrumWolf There is nothing wrong with you baby..You're a rocker by nature..You're right about the drumming..You have what it takes to go all the way..You are superb at what you do hun..Keep rockin babe!!..

  • @vikkihottie55 Well, I guess not. There's really nothing wrong with me except going down the rock n roll road is a rough ride. There's no doubt that music is in my blood. I've been told before at bottom of the barrel gigs that I should be at a much higher level so to speak...meaning that I could go all the way with my playing. Thanks so much for your compliments of my drumming sweetheart & as long as God lets me...I will keep on keeping on!

  • @TheDrumWolf Of course God will let you keep on keeping on..You were born with the gift of music and drumming..Only you can let yourself get to that higher level..If that's what you really want..Don't cut yourself short..God gave you this gift so what would make him happy is if you're happy doing the best with what he gave you..Keep rockin babe..You're awesome!!..

  • @TheDrumWolf That's because Barry is an outstanding drummer!!!

  • I love his alternate melodies :D

  • Loving Shinedown!

  • Woah this is pure talent. It's like one of the best live performances of all times.

  • I love them

  • I love them

  • the best

  • I love Brent Smith he's my hero

  • i love this song. i love playing it on guitar. although im not very good playing it but its still awesome to play. shinedown rules :)

  • i liked brent with red hair. he looked hot

  • @melancollydinner i think hes hott with his natural color too!

  • I love Shinedown. They seem to be the only new band that is keeping the spirit of grunge and real 'alt' rock alive. For some hardcore grunge from the 1990s:

    Gruntruck - All right

    watch?v=opzP_l1JR6Y

    TAD - Daisy

    watch?v=sxPkO0QkPtU

  • Good song but realy would it kill them to get a hair cut?

And lose the piecings it's kinda creapy

  • @the1andonlykid123 Don't say that!

  • in this vid, there not as good live as when I saw them live. I saw them a few days ago and they were way better than in this video.

  • Ok, Rock lives. :) The pulse is back. Close call.

  • shinedown is awsome no matter live or on cd they still own the world

  • @stairmaster3001 thats an opinion and three days grace is better :P

  • @ZACHORY008 yea that was when i liked shinedown.lol i realy dont listen to them at all anymore

  • anyone know why jason isnt in the band anymore?

  • wow, awsome

  • why do the looks matter? oh wait...they dont .and no they dont. i bet you do. haha

  • saw them live. :D the are fukin awesome!!!

  • They are a great band but they look like a bunch of fags.

  • @Pyr0Maniac01 yeah i wish the singers hair wasn't red it would look better if it wosn't, stil an amazing band

  • @MataLich009 When I seen Shinedown opening up for Nickelback he was wearing a suit and had a pony tail lol

  • @Pyr0Maniac01 hahaha

  • my fav. part is when he faces the lead guitar as he screams hello. i love it. they fucking rock.

  • here it is Brent Smith shinedown shed some light acoustic

    by Erod68

    Search for it

  • Click the link above for a quality live performance acoustic with guitarist from Skynard doing Shed Some Light

If you come here to debate if he is good or great ....piss off.. He is what he is... AWESOME The whole band is. Not a one of you will hold a candle to this great man or the quality of their songwriting. Live performances only have one take so F haters and their indignant perfectionism. Rock on Shinedown!

  • this guy has an amazing voice...neone else who thinks not just doesnt appreciate his voice for what it is

  • i still haven't found a video of him singing this song like the recorded version. it doesn't matter that hes been touring for 2 years now, that means his vocals must have strengthened up by now to be able to hit those highs. there is no single video of them performing live where he hits those highs, and he never will.

i love the song, i love shinedown, but all you shinedown fanatics are real annoying; he's a good singer--not a great one.

  • @steevieg skrew u. ):|

  • So... he sang the chorus different each time, and never tried once for the melody notes that made this song a hit...

  • @gooswitch the glory of being a preformer is you can do what you want and be realistic its not gonna sound like the cd all the time thats boring

  • what a way to suck on live tv. i saw them in person and he was great. this guy could be on takin a shit and make it sound amazing but wow, did they ever suck on this night

  • the quality is very bad

  • they are talented, its just that bret is flat most of the time. And he cant hit those high "Bs' and cs'

  • the only difference between this one and the album version is the fact that its not Studio Quality is Voice is EXACTLY the same its not Distorted like a lot of other bands today... and his Voice is Intense Finally a rock and roll band with Soul....

  • wow he cant hit them notes singing live anouther studio band

  • @juicemanrocks You Call this a Studio Band? You must have eaten a lot of shit.... Let Brent scream in your face and you will know.... Shinedown has one of the best vocalist ever to walk this planet!!!

  • I cannot wait to see them live!!!!! So excited!!!!!!!

  • I think some people think it sounds like crap cause Brent is trying to get the top of the high notes. Usually he modifies the high notes to make it sound awesome and more transitional. I give him high credit to trying to sing it like the studio version. Still sounds 1000 times better than alot of other bands.

  • is shinedown a christan band?

  • that drum kit's sick

  • brent smith is amazing singer i bow be4 him

  • this is song is perfected in the studio vocally for a reason, and that is because its notoriously practiced for months to create an album, voice is fresh, live performances like this just arent in that same realm of productivity, however improvisation usually makes up for it, in this case amazing performance given the difficulty of vocal variations, i love this fuckin band

  • I think that this is a great song. The band sounds fantastic & I like alot of their material. I'm just wondering, why would this dude set the bar so high for himself so that he struggles with the high notes in the chorus when they play so many live shows? I understand the studio perfection thing but why do that to himself & the band? Maybe he was having a bad day, we all have them. Well, I like this performance anyway - great band & singer!

  • @TheDrumWolf i completely agree, brent is one of the best and most underrated singers ever, and he definately struggles with the high notes, but i think the tone of his voice makes up for it

  • They dont suck live, but it sure isnt the same as the studio kind, but none the less dam good

  • You like what you hear on that CD because it's all fake and digitally edited for studio perfection. Playing live is REAL and these guys are the best band I have ever heard live which can only prove one thing THEY ROCK!!!

  • O my LORD! They are amazing!!! They sound so great live! They dont sound any different than on there c.d.

    I Love SHINEDOWN!

  • @emmadaniellecullen. Are you deaf? Really, clean your ears, man...you're delusional.

  • This is really a hard song to sing.

  • Yeah.... Jasin and Brad

  • wwe wm 22 theme awesome band

  • they sound good live, this song is always a disappointment live though, I've never heard him sing the chorus live once in the four times I've seen em. He always brings it down or uses a recording :/

  • i will clear channel....

  • Was this on The Late Late Show w/ Craig Ferguson?

  • He went out of key during the chorus. But every singer has their bad days. This guy is still truly amazing.

  • sta perrona la rola m gusta un buen XD lol,

  • shinedowns my favorite band :P

  • The song sounds great live, except the screaming in the chorus.

  • Hey if you like Shinedown. Check Us Out. Click on our Channel redsunrisingmusic and watch "Beautiful Suicide". Let us know what you think. We are fully independent from Akron,OH. Thanks RSR

  • GAWD I miss Jasin..Nobody plays like him. He just makes me happy watching him, and I like his white t-shirt :)

  • lack of high notes is quite disappointing

  • @dizzack i was listening to it and when it got to the chorus i was like wait, thats not right lol

  • @dizzack he makes money. you dont and i dont either

  • @darkfire33690 No they definately dont they are amazing live

  • @IEatBabies318 yea i kno

  • @IEatBabies318 yep. imo, the bands that sound the most similar to their stuido/cd songs are the best

  • @darkfire33690 They sound like shit live? really? What a dumb comment on your part. Compared to most bands they sound great.

  • @LauraAnn13 they really don't sound that bad live

  • @LauraAnn13 yea rele they sound sound as good as othr bands in the studio wen the play live

  • @LauraAnn13 True, his voice changes everything.

  • @LauraAnn13 Hes just jealous man he has a crappy out of tune voice.
