  • What season was it when the discontinued the funkey chimes at the end

  • @PGMEagle the last season to play the "Funky Chimes" was Season 23.

  • Do you think that Season 18 will be released on DVD?

  • @1f5sda I highly doubt it. The first 29 seasons of the show all had 130 episodes (with the exception of Season 2 which had 145 episodes), so I don't think it will be happening anytime soon. I'm sorry to upset you like this, but that's just what I think. However, on the ToughPigs website, one of the owners of that particular site thinks that one day Sesame Workshop will make a "Sesame Street: Complete Series" DVD set with all 4000+ episodes on 80 discs, (which probably won't happen either).

  • @classicssmfan I guess you're right.

  • @1f5sda but then again, who knows? Maybe someday they will do something like that. That would be a nice thing to happen, don't you think?

  • @classicssmfan Probably so. Like they say, "anything's possible."

  • You Sesame Street fans may not know this, but the end credit letters have the same font as the "Close Encounters of The Third Kind" letters.

  • I really enjoy this jazzy version of the theme.

  • what other endings of sesame street do you have? the ending with the letters D and R and the number 9?

  • what was the first episode with the calypso beat credits? i was born in 1994 so that's the earliest one i remember! im so young!

  • @thetoolbox112394 Episode 3006, Season 24. You and I are in the same boat.

  • @classicssmfan - Actually it would be 3010. 3006 would have been a Monday episode (as with all episodes ending in 1 and 6).

  • @classicssmfan iwas born before season 26

  • @thetoolbox112394 i was born in 1994. this is also the earliest one i remember. I wtched an episode of ss when i was little and it had the jazz ending.

  • holy shit! it is SOOOO remarkably rare to have music that has a TUBA playing the melody!!!

  • In This Clip, From 1:09 To 3:52, It Was "Sesame Street" Video Close From December 26, 1986.

  • I remember this airing originally on December 26, 1986 -- Merry Day-After-Christmas!

  • This seems like an interesting episode. Anyone got the clip with Hoots out in the rain with Ruby and pointing out to her the way the rain makes a rhythm while hitting the concrete?

  • I thought i was the only one that loved this ending. This was my absolute favorite.

  • Where's the PBS logo at the very end?

  • Guess it didn't make it into this video.

  • Hootz, or Hoots?

  • 4300 EPISODE OPENING AND CLOSING .

  • Who knew Hoots liked to play the tuba?

  • @antsamthompson9 Don't you mean the flower-holding, towel-drying, ear-scratching, sit upon, owl perchaphone? ;)

  • @BuckWilliams17 Yes.

  • Man, I love these credits =)

  • Yup, the music sure was nice and relaxing enough to help me relieve stress.

  • @Jbrangwynne53

Me too. They're also from the year I was born, which I find really cool.

  • @Jbrangwynne53 Me too! I saw this on YouTube 20 years after this was on TV. Gotta love old Sesame Street! RIP Jim Henson 1936-1990!

  • I hope they're going to make a full Episode 2255 guide.
