I have an Akita, another misunderstood dog. These dogs are loving and faithful creatures that simply want to be loved back. I have fostered a couple Pits that were total sweet hearts and I can only assume ignorance is the reason so many people blindly label an entire breed bad.

My boxer, loved that dog and grew up with her, saved me from a snake when I was younger and liked to run outside with no shoes on. Nasty looking snake, but Mandy got it for me :) She didnt die because of the snake tho. Thats a brave dog to offer itself as a shield

Dogs like fucking with smaller and weaker animals, period. My neighbors wolfhound kills everything that moves in their yard, including around a dozen cats. He would have treated a completely harmless snake (or any other animal) the same way, killing it for the sake of fun and territorial instinct when all it wanted to do was escape. He didn't back off because cobra venom isn't painful straight away, making him content to keep chewing on it like it would any smaller, weaker animal. This time, he was punished for his innate aggression.

The women frantically called out to their neighbors and the local vet (this is a town where everyone knew everybody) but a Philippine Cobra's bite is just really highly venomous and has spread too quicky into his brain. My boxer, loved that dog and grew up with her, saved me from a snake when I was younger and liked to run outside with no shoes on. Nasty looking snake, but Mandy got it for me :) She didnt die because of the snake tho. Thats a brave dog to offer itself as a shield

Pits have so much love for people, its almost crazy. They fight and love you even after you put it through and back. Pits don't even turn on the people that fight them! I can't wait to get a pit.
I'm going to fight for my Pit, like i know it would fight for me. I'm going to be one of those people that stand up for these dogs and help them restore honor to their name..

@orelero well the snake didn't win either, because I didn't remember him saying it was alive. They either both lost or both won. And the snake probably would have killed them. The dog felt the snake was a threat and was only trying to save his family, which he did win in, and the snake was trying to get away alive which it did not win in. So tell me how did the dog not win at all??

I hate when people say, "no, pit bulls and bulldogs are bad dogs. They bite and you don't no when they will attack" all dogs can doo that. Even little chihuahuas and poodles. It depends on who trains it, and cares for it. Pits and Bulldogs can be lifesavers aswell.

Cried watching this. Pit Bulls are life savers, killed in ignorance. My own pit fell victum to cancer. She was the best dog I ever had. They aren't monsters unless you make them that way.

its pretty bad when people fight pitbulls and let them kill each other for entertainment becaused there looked down on by society as "vicious, bad animals" but if you would learn how to train them right they can be an ordinary and fun pet. they can do things and act like any other dog would they can protect you at all costs as cleary stated in this video

chief is from the cagayan de oro city philippines. im from iligan city neighboring city of cagayan de oro i know the story of chief . i had my first pitbull after i heard the story of chief and i name it after the late brave chief. now i had 5 pitbulls and i am proud to have them.Thanks chief for making others believe that the breed pitbulls are not just for fighting..now here in iligan their are lots of pitbulls than other types of dog..RIP

If snakes actually went around trying to kill people, there would be hundreds of millions of deaths every year from them moron.
Dogs however, happily attack anything smaller than them, especially with a territorial breed. The pit died needlessly because of his instincts.

@chiconspiracy Dogs can sense your anxiety and im 100% sure the dog reacted to protect them, it is definately not the same as chasing a car, a herding breed like a german sheperd or border collie chase (round up) animals by instinct, bullterrier were bred to fight Bulls 100s of years ago, how the hell is a bull a smaller animal than a dog?, snake = threat, bullterrier killed snake and died in the process, so he was bravely protecting his family (owners)

Dogs like fucking with smaller and weaker animals, period. My neighbors wolfhound kills everything that moves in their yard, including around a dozen cats. Some of them scratched him up a quite a bit before being snapped like a twig. Does that make him a brave hero for "defending his family" The pitbull was simply being territorial, and also killing for fun. No different than killing a cat or a squirrel in the dogs mind.

@chiconspiracy Some dogs will kill small animals, many dogs live happily along with other pets at home including cats, even wild animals like lions will not risk serious injury when hunting or defending territory, they back off when the risk of serious injury or death is too high, this dog did not back off therefore it gave it's life to protect, "simple"(like you)

Again, in the dog's mind, he didn't know it was deadly. He would have treated a completely harmless snake (or any other animal) the same way, killing it for the sake of fun and territorial instinct when all it wanted to do was escape. He didn't back off because cobra venom isn't painful straight away, making him content to keep chewing on it like it would any smaller, weaker animal. This time, he was punished for his innate aggression.

@chiconspiracy Never said an animal can interpret danger the same way people do. dogs react based on their pack and instinct, when the people ran to try to get away from the snake, the dog interpreted that snake as a threat to his pack. In Australia, dogs get bitten and killed by much more dangerous snakes in quite frequently, as they RUN THEM DOWN when the snake is just trying to get away. They're probably all "heroes" to you too. Cats also get killed frequently there, are they heroes too?

My lab saved me from an aggro. dog that was smaller then her, did she attack for fun? NO. The Royale Pit Bull Club-Ancient Fraternal Order of the Pit Bulls, a group of responsible pet owners, gave this hero a solemn burial. The kids in the neighborhood loved Kuya Chief...

This is a hero he is Master Chief and he died a heroic death and my pit saved me from a huge dog and then later when he was bitten on the leg by another pit i then literally when the pit got in my face was about to strike so i bit em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And me and my pit are still to young men today,

they did...he said they got him to the vet but it was too late because he was bitten on his face, too close to his brain, and the venom had already spread (i'm paraphrasing) there was nothing they could do at that point.

The women frantically called out to their neighbors and the local vet (this is a town where everyone knew everybody) but a Philippine Cobra's bite is just really highly venomous and has spread too quicky into his brain. Sadly, the vet couldn't save him. Its venom really sets off a rapid onset of paralysis of the heart and lungs...

Why does it seem every time I hear deadly snake, family, and family dog in the same story it's always a pit saving the family? I've read several but at the moment the only ones that comes to mind are (the famous) Weela and also Dixie.
Least Cheif got the pleasure of dying for his family instead of being taken from them to be slaughtered at a shelter for no reason.
