You have to realize that you get mad about how pixely it is at 100" yeah your not going to get anything under 500$ that isn't pixely at 100 inches, but this is a great projector, just display at around 30-80 inches max
@brainboob Well iv been looking at this for a while and the upsides to it are that the bulbs are only 30 dollars, the lighting is 2000 lumas (pritty good) and for 200 dollars i would say yes this is = too or above dvd quality
I would not buy this projector. I got my dg 737 a few days ago and the image is horrible. On the ebay auction it said full 1080p hi def, but there is this pixel grid in the backround that turns a clear image to a blotchy trash. I would rather watch movies on my 12" laptop screen than on the 100 projector. Not even worth the 190 i paid for it
@rudley0innapropriate I've got mine scaled around 77-80 inches and its not the worse thing ever ha. Give that a go. You're right though anywhere near 100 inches and it just isn't really worth it. Bugs the shit out of the me being all pixely and what not. We have it hooked up to DirecTv at around 77 or so inches as I said and it isn't the most horrible thing in the world. Quite tolerable. Although you hate to have to even use that word. Im working on saving the 5-600 bones for a DLP.
@dmorris2587 You can get some decent images for a 600$ but if your looking for a projector that provides a perfect crystal smooth image then go for 1920x1280 (full HD).
Also this projector is 640x480 even the 800x600 one I sell for a little more makes a big difference as it has a 50% decrease in pixel size and its a lot clearer, still not that amazing quality you get with the higher end units but well worth the price.
@dmorris2587 Hello, is it possible to send me some info on how to adjust the image to fit on an 80" screen? I reecently purchase the projector and cant make the adjustment. Thanks

@rudley0innapropriate Hi, your right its not 1080, i am not sure who you bought from but all my auctions clearly states 640x480. 1080 projectors cost A LOT more then a couple hundred. This does accept 1080 content though and down converts to its native resolution.
Also change your computer resolution to 800x600 then connect it to your projector via VGA or HDMI and it will look good. Try to stay around 80 inches.
THIS VIDEO IS NOT A REAL VIDEO OF THIS PROJECTOR!!!! IT IS A VIDEO THAT IS STOLEN AND SAID TO BE THAT PROJECTOR BUT IT ISNT WATCH AT THE BEGINNING YOU CAN SEE THE LITTLE BAR AT THE BOTTOM. IT IS A YOUTUBE VID. i might be wrong if i am im sorry.
Hello! I just purchased one of these projectors and it arrived today. I was watching a movie with an xbox using component HD. Is there a trick to setting it to a 16:9 aspect ratio? It seems to be locked on 4:3 and wont let me select the scale setting to change it. On the AV input it lets me select the scale but still wont let me change it even then. What do I do? I want to watch movies in 16:9 as my screen is a 16:9. Please help!
The only way to watch 16:9 is to buy a hdmi cable i just read about it. wen u have and hdmi cable u can only watch 16:9 anything else is 4:3 with avi and composite
@moranalex99 Hey this is JasonTandro just on my other account. Thanks for the info. Actually ended up getting an HDMI cable though and Im not sure what it says on the website but for the record you cant use 16:9 with this either. None of the high def inputs will allow you to watch 16:9 only the low def like the regular AV inputs will let you switch to 16:9. HD has to be watched in 4:3. Makes little sense to me but there it is.
@dmorris2587 You need to buy either the dg-852 or dg-747 projectors,
The native resolution on this unit is 640x480 if you were to change to 16:9 it would change the resolution to 640x 360 making a poor image. The projectors listed above have higher resolutions making it possible.
@KalosImports Thanks for the suggestion. I bought this as a first projector given that I have room mates that would be watching it as well and as I suspected it would before I bought it it probably gets about 10 hours of use a day if not more almost everyday. Didn't want to drop bigger money on something that was going to see so much use. Going to get a DLP projector later in the year as I see you can get true hi def DLP projectors for around 500 on ebay from reputable companies.
@dmorris2587 There are some good deals, the only problem is sometimes they either come with used bulbs and the bulbs don't last long (2000 -3000 hours I believe) And new bulbs cost 200-300$ and with 10 hours of use daily you will get under a year of use. So you will have to throw down another few hundred just for a bulb.
Thats where these projectors have the advantage (bulbs cost 30$) and last longer.
The reason there so cheap is they get a lot hotter then the bulbs used in higher projectors
@KalosImports This is true. I wont be living in a college setting next year though so it will be getting much less use. At that point in time despite the cost I think it will be much more in my favor to go ahead and get a real deal DLP projector as I have HD DirecTv and all that jazz. Anything short of true HD just isn't true HD. Although in the defense of these DG 737's aside from some screen door effect they look pretty solid. Also want a projector that shoots widescreen HD instead of 4:3
@jhjaime2 Hi, It comes with a VGA cable so no! It can run your laptop right away. It can't run movies right off a hard drive. You will need VLC player or something similar, then hook it up using VGA or HDMI etc.
I just bought my DG - 737 a couple of days ago and I still have some issues with it, and I just wanted to know "How far your projector has to be from the screen/wall to get the best or at least a good resolution"?
I have been testing this projector for the past few days and i have nothing but good things to say about it! It has all the inputs you can ask for, for a projector let alone a budget one. The 2000 lumens are right on. I got a steal on this on ebay. If you are looking for a projector for party's, movie nights, sports games etc.. this is the projector you need. Best Pic @ 90". i would recommend this projector to anyone
my camera is not good the colors are actually really good on this projector. I tried other cheap projectors and the colors are so dim. This projectors color are vibrant and deep. It is around 100 inches. I will be posting a new video shortly. Search dg-737 in youtube for more reviews.

And there's no pixels at 80 inches?

@brainboob idk :/ my guess is a pritty big dif from 100-80 but anywhere from 30-80 really shouldn't bother you. thats my guess.

@KingdomTree
Hi,
No it is hd-ready meaning it will accept hd inputs like HDMI in 1080p but it will scale it down to its native resolution.
HD Projectors cost around 1500- 2500$ Plus, not 200$.
