THIS IS GETTING OUT OF HAND. And it's pointless. Nobody is changing anybodies mind and I've had my fun with you. Time to do something more productive, like fapping off to porn. NIGHT and good riddance
@cupocity303 As stupid as you are I'm sure jerking off to porn is about the only female attention you'll get. I have a woman here with me. MY WIFE. Been married for 8 years. Get otu and meet someone
@cupocity303 uh huh..excuses..LOL..he's a bum in comparison to Rocky. Marciano's legacy is awesome and this guy will be lucky to be a top 25 heavyweight champion.
I didn't know 6'7 tall guys were supposed to be aggressive fighters, fighting on the inside. Good boxing knowledge you're showing there. Forget your height and lower yourself to your opponents height
@cupocity303 You can be aggressive and fight from a distance. You use your jab and straight right hand and aggressively hit the guy while you're in range and he's not quite yet in range.
@ah93704 Vitali was aggressive. For example, he beat the hell out of Shannong Briggs - who was in the german hospital for a whole month afterwards. Rearranged his face.
@cupocity303 When he gets close you use your uppercuts and hooks and then push him off or let the ref break you. Chisora gave Klitchko fits. He was huffing and puffiing at the finish. did you see?
@cupocity303 I can care less if I convince you. You obviously dont know boxing. You cant even tell me one thing Rocky did poorly and I've said several things he did well.
@ah93704 Why would I go into great detail about Marcinao's abilities? He was an average bruiser. I only have 120 characters of typing space. Who cares? He isn't better than Klits's
@ah93704 The fact that you think that Rocky would beat either Klitschko shows me you don't know the sport well enough. Just some Nostalgic Boxing pseudo-intellectuall wannabe snob.
@cupocity303 Atleast when Louis lost to someone in his best years it was to Max Schmeling, a former champ. Klitchko lost to Sanders and Brewster for cryin out loud. What a bum. He is a pugilistic puts
But hey, maybe Marciano can get into a time machine, and we can reinvent him physically like you did with Louis. A whole new Marciano, new body, new skills. THEN MAYBE HE WINS, LMAO.
@cupocity303 Well, if Rocky fought today he'd be a different man. Better nutrition today and better sports science. Back then they didnt even know to load up on carbs, they ate steak before big fights
I've talked to plenty of old-timers. None of em have said that Rocky would win. You should reassess your knowledge of boxing if you think that Rocky has a chance against these two Aryan specimens.
@cupocity303 He lost to two bums, lost to another ATG and defeated some good fightetrs in Arreola and Sam Peters. He barely defeated Chisora and ran like a sissy. Rocky would have smacked him harder!
Rax Layne who? I suppose I could support my argument if I quoted a bunch of reporters, journalist who said that Samuel peter was touted as the next Mike Tyson/Joe Frazier and both Klitschkos beat him
@ah93704 Excuse me for not being 60 years old, and being as NOSTALGIC as you are. Nostalgic bias is oozing out of your comments, through and through. Overrating fighters from past and....
@cupocity303 I"m 32 kid and I've read hundreds of books about boxing, boxed myself and even trained a few young fighters on the rudiments of the sport.
@ah93704 I love it when someone disagrees and starts the Boxing's Snob act, like they're entitled to their opinion more than others because of it. Hilarious.
@cupocity303 I'm just telling you that Klitchkos ruined his career wtih that loss to Lewis. Had he won that and not lost to Brewster and Corey Sanders he may have a chance to be a top 10.
@ah93704 You do realize there are two Klitscko's right? The one who lost to Lewis (vitali) is not the same as the one who lost to Brewster & Sanders (Wlad)
@ah93704 The Klit sisters? Mature. But the Klit sisters both would TKO Marciano in less than 6 rounds. He would probably never fight again had he fought them. Would be his FUNERAL. Bum skill
@cupocity303 Rocky had the style to destroy Klitchko. A swarming type guy who wears you down. Rocky would get around his jab and land punches all over his body and wear him down. I'd say 7 or 8 rounds
@ah93704 Chad Dawson would outbox Rocky Maricano, yet alone Wlad Klitscko. What are you kidding me LOL. I can't believe someone is actually making a case for Rocky beating Klitscko's. LOL
@cupocity303 I remember when Vladmiir could barely stand after punching himself out against Lamon Brewster..LOL..funny as shit. The guy couldnt even suck it up and fight on. The guy has no heart.
@ah93704 That was years ago, since then Wlad has perfected his BIG-man style of fighting, and isn't wasting punches. I suppose only when guys like Joe Louis lose, they're entitled to excuses?
@ah93704 A guy who whipped marciano's ass but got robbed? Yeah, further proving my point why Mariciano is the worst of the so called ATG Heavyweights. His 49-0 look better than his skill
In fact, if Wlad wasn't Wlad and was smaller height and Louis wasn't Louis and was taller and more athletic, then we're talking about completely different people. It's no longer empirical evidence of what is. This is like saying if Superman lost his superhuman powers, Batman would beat him because of his martial arts. Or if Batman acquired Superman's powers on top his MMA skills and weapons, hed beat Superman. This is Batman fan dismissing the fact that Superman is completely superior to batman
The Klischko's are not slow. They have the best style of fighting for 6'6 and 6'7 height fighters, respectively. They're not expected to move around like Light-Heavyweights or smaller Heavyweights of years past. Nonetheless, they're more athletic then any other previous or current fighters of that stature. They have perfected the tall-man style of fighting, not wasting any energy and being conservative while producing TKO's on a consistent basis. You can't hate on that.
Are you kidding, Buddy Baer got hystory , but with that kind of hight and reach he needs to fight tall and keep distance, he isnt using his body's advantages. This boxing is a bit primitive. Nowadays they fight smart.
neither klitschko is particularly tough. corrie sanders put both of them on their asses when he was like 40. now put them against the ring magazine's number 1 puncher of all time. joe had one punch ko power in either hand with a variety of punches. his hands were very fast and he was a brilliant combo puncher. he was also incredibly accurate, wasting almost nothing.
the klitschkos have both lost to much, much, MUCH lesser fighters.
@Robstailey Vitali ko's Louis. Whatever few losses you're gonna hold against him, in between all that consistent dominance, then you have to hold the losses and bad performances Louis had against him too. But you're not willing to do that. Louis has excuses on his side for Schmelling 1. This 6'7 bum lowered himself to Louis' size, and yet he still managed to get a good shot in. Stylistically Vitali cleans his clock. Lets not get caught up in ATG, Hall of fame hoopla Styles make fight
@cupocity303 Well, if Louis fought today he'd be abotu 25-30 pounds heavier and all of it muscle. Plus, his technique would be considerably better as they know more about fighting today. On top of that, h'ed have more endurance. He would be stronger. He would be quicker and he would be smarter. If Louis fought Vitali he would clean both of htem out of the division relatively easily. Louis was far more dominant a champion than those two clowns. Louis only lost once in his heyday.
@ah93704 Could've, would've, should've. Your comment is now gone into a version of: Who wins between Superman and Batman. We can only take the fighters for what they are, not speculate on what they would look like if in a different time. You just basically created a whole new version of Louis and pick him to beat the Klitschko's, how ridiculous is that?
@cupocity303 You're the one saying lets put so and so against so and so. In order to do that, you have to put one fighter in the same era as the other. Seems logical, right? Well, you can't just say "lets have them meet in a neutral arena in a neutral time zone" See what I mean? They'd have to fight in some conjucture of time. Louis was much more accomplished than Klitchkos. Sure, the Klitchkos are very dominant and I appreciate theire slow,, methodical, destruction of various heavies
@cupocity303 If you put Louis in todays era and he trained as they did today you'd have to assume he'd be bigger and stronger, no? If you too Vitali and put him in Loui's era, chances here he'd be smaller and weaker and slower. Then you have to factor in technique and things like that. Very difficult to compare fighters from different eras!
@ah93704 No, no, you're giving a false premise here. You're automatically assuming that Louis would be a even better fighter in today's era, because he would be physically even stronger and bigger, while at the same time presuming that the Klitschko's would be weaker if they fought in Louis's era. How unfair is that? How about, The Klitschko's if brought up in that era would be much tougher because of the tougher environment, and thus just as good if not better fighters then today.
@cupocity303 They would need to be tougher after quitting because they hurt their poor shoulder. That was the biggest pussy move I've ever seen and with one round to go.
@cupocity303 If you want to speculate on two fighters fighting from different eras you have to get them both into a particular era first. Then you have to realize that if they were fighting in that era atleast one of them is gonna be significantly different. You can't take them as they are because as time goes by sports nutrition and exercise physiology improves. They know more today about those things so it wouldnt be fair to Louis to just keep him as he was in the 1940's!
@ah93704 No, what's not fair is having this automatic preference to guys from the past and dismissing current athletes who are dominating. That's like saying if some basketball player grew up in Michael Jordan's era, he would have the same hops and everything. It doesn't make sense and is wishful thinking. We have to keep in mind that you biased towards the past, therefore your presumptions are all wrong. Wlad isn't the same fighter at 6'1 and Louis wouldn't be the same at 6'7.
@cupocity303 Well, its obvious if you took Louis as he was and put him in there with Vladimir or Vitale he'd lose due to the size discrepency as well as the improvement in technique. But, if ieither fought in another era they'd be different as fighters. Louis lost just once in his prime and he avenged that loss. Most great champions defeat the fighter that was the best before them and Vitali failed to defeat Lennox Lewish. The Klitchkos have also lost to not so great fighters like Lamont Brews
@cupocity303 brewster and Corey Sanders...there is simply no way the Klitchkose compare to Louis in terms of legacy and overall greatness. Based on that, if Louis fought today I maintain he'd clean their clocks. He'd defeat everyoen in the divison!
@ah93704 I would tend to agree that Louis is ahead of the Klitschko's legacy wise, thus greater on paper. If Wlad can reach Louis' Title defense record, then he would have a case but I doubt he will get that far. With that said, legacy has nothing to do with ability. Wlad or Vitali KO Louis a lot sooner than Max Schmelling, and chop him down much worse.
@cupocity303 tend to agree? there is no comparison. Klitchko lost to bums, both of them, and the older one was soundly defeated by the previous champion. Louis defeated everyone in his path and the one time he was defeated he avenged that loss. The Klitchkos dont stand a chance in terms of legacy with Louis. And yes, the steroid using, modering day Klitchkos can defeat the 1930s version of Joe Louis who was naturally smaller and less evolved in style and boxing ability.
@ah93704 I conceded that Louis is greater on paper. But lets pretend like he defeated all-timers, year after year. There is a reason why his title defenses were coined, bum of the month club. People tend to shit on The Klitschko's opposition but overrate the opposition of past greats because of their Nostalgic bias. And of course, The Klitschko's defeat the inferior Louis. They're 6'7 Aryan specimens and you have to invent a new Frankenstein Louis to beat them in fantasy matchups.
@cupocity303 I agree that the Klitchkoes get disrespected way too much. They have beaten some good fighters (Arreola, Peters come to teh top of my head) and I agree that they deserve more credit. Anyway, Louis did have his bum of the month. His manager (Joe Jacobs) saw that WW2 was looming and so he wanted to keep Louis busy. So, instead of really working on creating buzz in a fight and spacing them out he just found fighters willing to fight Louis and gave them their chance.
@cupocity303 Jacobs wanted to make as much money off of Louis as possible. I think he was surprised at how easily Louis defeated all comers. I think its more of how Louis easily won all his fights than how they were bums. Go back and read up on some of his opponents and yuo'll see. They were good fighters (especially read about his first 10 defenses).
@ah93704 RE: I think its more of how Louis easily won all his fights than how they were bums
Funny, that's exactly what the Klitschko's are doing now. And I would argue they're not even bums. But if they are crappy opposition, then the Klitschko's are doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing, which is dominate them.
@cupocity303 I agree with you on Klitchko BUT, and I think this is the point...the Klitchkos failed to defeat the former champion that was getting ready to retire. For me, that means the Klitchkos are way below Louis. They'll be lucky if htey make it in the top 20 of all time. Dominant champions but they suffered too many losses before they became dominant.
@ah93704 This is not a fair criticism of the Klitschko's (i.e. Vitali if you meant that he failed to defeat Lennox). First it's not Vitali's fault that the fight got stopped, and there is a asterisk attached to that match. Second, it's not his fault that Lewis retired and he didn't have another crack at him. How is it fair to hold this one fight against him for eternity, when he made up for it with win after win? What if Max Schmeling retired after he Ko'd Joe Louis? Think about it.
@cupocity303 Its nto his fault that they stopped the fight but its Lennox's fault they did. That gash was serious and all the doctors said it needed to be stopped to protect Vitalis vision. The fact is that Vitali FAILED to defeat a man near the end of his career. Usually the younger up and comer defeats the older fight that has been around for a while. This show that Lennox Lewis was a top tier fighter and that Klitchko's will ALWAYS be behind him among others!
@ah93704 Again, talk all you want. Fact is, the ending wasn't clear cut and Vitali has been making up for it even since with dominant victories. Again, if Max Schmelling had retired after beating Louis, would this same UNFAIR standard be used on Joe Louis, as you are using on Vitali? Vitali was less experinced than Lennox and took the fight on two weeks notice. He won more rounds but the fight got stopped beyond his power. And he never got another opportunity again (i.E. joe vs max)
@cupocity303 The ending was clear cut (was that pun intended..HA). Vitali sustained an injury over his eye caused by Lennox Lewis's fists. Had the fight gone on Vitali could have really seriously injured his eye. And yes, I try to be very consistant in my boxing analysis so I would have Louis lowered quite substantially had he never avenged that loss. He is lowered a tad for losing to Schmeling in the first place. Had he never lost that fight h'ed be considered even greated than he alreayd i
@ah93704 If we're gonna compare with modern rules to fighters of generations past, then lets consider that the fight wouldn't have gotten stopped if it were 1940 or 50. THE ENDING WAS NOT CLEAR. If Vitali and corner had stopped the fight, YES. If Vitali had gotten really Ko'd or TKO'd, yes. Not when the Doctor stops it while the fighter wants to continue. Vitali had a axe to grind for throwing in the towel against Chris Byrd, he wasn't gonna quit that night.
@cupocity303 It probably wouldnt have been stopped back then so you're right about that. I agree that his legacy is less affected due to the fact that it was a stoppage by the ref and not a knock out. It actually was a TKO though. That loss will haunt him forever and he'll never have a chance to avenge it.He should have knocked Lennox out!
@ah93704 There is no set in stone criteria for ranking fighters of all-times, or even P4P. It's all opinionated, and everyone has a opinion and their own bias, whether aware of it or not. Having said that, easily have both Wlad and Vitali over Marciano. I specifically isolated him from all your others. He is inferior to the Klitscho's in each and every way, and is lucky to have retired undefeated. Caught a lot of fighters at the right time of their careers.
@cupocity303 bull crap dude. Marciano was a much more successful pugilist than either Klitchkoes. He was lucky to retire undefeated? Are you kidding me? You obviously dont know anything about Rocky Marciaon. Maybe you should go read a book about his career. The Klitchkoes havent been nearly as successful as Marciano in their careers.
@ah93704 LOL @ the knee-jerk reaction. Hilarious. You had a fun time berating the Klitschko's but I bring up Marciano, and you lose it. What, am I supposed to think highly of Marciano now? He is the weakest link on your list. David Haye and a few other Klitschko opponents would either outbox him or flat out TKo him. Sorry for hitting a nerve.
@cupocity303 Rocky Marciano never lost a single pro fight and the Klitchko sisters lost to Lamon Brewster and Cory Sanders. You cant even compare the two you boxing tyro. You're boxing analysis is stupid. You obviously dont know the rudiments of the fight game. Marciano was a master of his craft. A fighter that won by out conditioning his opponents. He defeated several hall of fame fightrers and Klitchko cant even beat up Lennox Lewis? You're an idiot when it comes to boxing!
@ah93704 Statistics are meaningless. Joe Calzaghe retired also undefeated. It's like a grain of salt. Most of the ATG's, including the Klitschko's whipe the floor with Mariciano. Common we shouldn't even be debating this. Ali, Holmes, Foreman, Louis....fine. But Marciano? Even Larry Holmes said it: Marciano can't carry his jock straps. I mean, I can find a good Light-Heavyweight from the 2000-2012 era that would murder Marciano.
@cupocity303 Klitchko ran like a girl against a guy who was much lighter than him. Not to mention a novice compared to him. Do you think Marciano would ever run like a little girl? Rocky Marciano was twice the fighter that Klit sisters are. Rocky never lost. Has the highest ko ratio in history. Has defeated many more ATG's than both Klit sisters combined. You're probably just trying to piss me off. You're not making me mad you're making me laugh. Its pathetic how little you know about boxing!
@cupocity303 Plus, Rocky is comparable to all the other ATG's in many ways. Mostly he is even better in punching power and ko ratio. the guy was a machine. have you ever seen him fight? have you ever boxed yourself? I have. I know what I"m speaking of dude. So,you need to take your stupid novice opinion and shove it. The Clit sisters are good but not great as champions.
@ah93704 You're arguing from emotion. Rocky Marciano was a horrible fighter compared to other accomplished Heavyweights. Yes I have boxed before, that's irrelevant. Do not change the subject to Klitschko's. this is about Marciano and the fact that today's LIght-heavyweights would give him a run for his money. He was a lucky fighter who caught a few over the hill greats at the right time. Even your boy Louis would've sparked him had he been younger. YOU KNOW THIS.
@cupocity303 Nat Fleischer said of Rex Layne "he's the next Dempsey" and Marciaon destrooyed him. Boxing experts at the time regarded Roland LaStarza as being a great fighter due to his finesse and defensive acumen. It is true that Rockys most noteable fightts were against older fighters but so what? Lots of fighters fight older fighters. You cant help it when they win fights and earn their keep
@cupocity303 I've read every book written about Marciaon. I've seen all of his fights that they have on film and I"ve ever gone to Brockton Mass to meet his brother and other family members at the museum they have for him. You simply dont know the era back then. That time period had more fighters fighting in America than we do today. How is that for competition? That means a bigger pool of fighters. It was even greater than it was during the 60's!
@ah93704 You reading books and having met this or that person is irrelevant. I have eyes, I use empirical evidence. He is lucky to retire 49-0. That's not even that many fights for that era.
@cupocity303 You can't prove that he was lucky because what he did was not based on luck. It was based on skill and raw power. Nobody else has been able to duplicate his success.!
@ah93704 I didn't say he was lucky for winning fights. I said that he was lucky to retire unbeaten. Just like Joe Calzaghe in modern time. Right fights at right time, and retired in time
@cupocity303 Now you're retracting your statement. He wasnt lucky at all. He fought the best guys at the time and DEFEATED THEM ALL. Same with Calzaghe. Two white guys who retired as undefeated champs
@ah93704 Not retracting my statement at all. CONTEXT. Lucky to retire 49-0 and you gave a great example of a fighter getting robbed against him. I've seen plenty of Rocky's fights (GARBAGE
@cupocity303 Did you google LaStarza and learn a few things? Their first fight was close, mainly due to teh fact that Rocky lost a round for a foul shot. He put Roland on his ass though.
@cupocity303 How were his fights garbage? Most ring historians rate him in the top 10 and some even put him in the top 5 of all time. What makes you smarter than those guys?
@ah93704 His fighting style is garbage. I accept that historians rank him highly, his record misleads people into thinking he is better than he really is, skill wise. He is not.
@cupocity303 Marciaon was good at a lot of things, technically speaking. He was good at slipping, ducking, and blocking punches. You have to watch his fights in slow motion to see the nuinces of him
@ah93704 LOL@ watching his fights in slow motion. The guy was already slow plenty enough. Please, lets not act like I'm missing something. Garbage is garbage. Overrated Slugger.
@cupocity303 Point out something that he did poorly? He had a jab that he used at tiems to get in close. He was a tremendous body puncher. He ducked, swayed, and slipped punches all the time. Example
@cupocity303 Rocky hit so hard Roland LaStarza had broken blood vessels up and down his forearms after their second fight. He also had chipped bones. I've read a lot abotu great fightersbutthatsrare
@ah93704 Wlad TKO's LaBumarza. Don't use him to make your point. Marciano's whole record is filled up with Light-Heavyweights, compared to the Klitschko's.
@ah93704 RE: Ran like a girl like the Klit sisters ----- Muhammad Ali disapproves of that message. If the Klitscko's are running (boxing), than Ali was sprinting 2x.
@cupocity303 He was a tremendous counterpuncher on the inside. There are vidoes on youtube and slow up footage and show you some of the things he could do. He had a lot of skills.
@cupocity303 My top fighters in heavyweight btw are 1) Joe Louis 2) Muhammad Ali 3) Larry Holmes 4) Jim Jeffries 5) Jack Johnson 6) Lennox Lewis 7) Jack Dempsey 7) Rocky Marciano 8) John L Sullivan 9) Jim Corbett 10) Bob Fitzsimmons
@cupocity303 If Vitali retires with the belt he'll be in the top 20 but I dont think he'll ever come close to reaching the top 5, maybe not even the top 10. right now, he's not in the top ten either..the guy has nobody to really challenge him. He's fought good fighters but not great ones!
@cupocity303 If Max retired then theres nothing old Joe could have done about it. The fact is, Loui's manager did a smart job in negotiating a title fight with Braddocks manager. Also, Louis stayed busy and won a few fights while Max stayed inactive. Both of those factors cost Schmeling a title fight. Anyway, Louis gave Max a title shot and hit him so hard Max was laid up in the hospital due to a screwed up back!
@cupocity303 And plus, the way thest two guys have lost is very instructive. Vitali lost to an older version of Lennox Lewis. Vitali was lucky they stopped that fight otherwise his eye may have been damaged permanently!
what are you saying?! vitali, the better klitschko, in his absolute prime, lost to lennox when he was a mere shadow of his former self. i mean, that is THE most ideal, unfair advantage that the klitschkos could have possibly hoped for, and yet ol' vitali STILL managed to snatch a defeat from the jaws of victory.
if he couldn't beat him then, he certainly couldn't have beaten him ever. lewis > any living heavyweight. easily. heavyweights nowadays are a fucking joke.
DaaamN that was a sick hook sending Louis out the ropes. Not as brutal as when Marciano did it though. Buddy kept wanting to fight from the inside. He shoulda used that reach advantage. He dwarfed Joe. Shame theres no footage of Buddy fightin his brother Max.
Man shut your punk bitch ignorant ass up. Do some research dumb shit. They had 2 exhibitions 1st one was in May of 1933 in Kansas City that was schedualed for 3 rounds. And another on August 27th 1936 in Canada that went 4 rounds. What a retarded ass name you have. Who the hell would name their kid burt? Some drunken hillbillies who had too much moonshine no doubt.
AND brothers fight all the damn time. I been putting gloves on with my little brothers since I was 3 years old. And Ken Shamrock and Frank Shamrock are STILL trying to get a match with each other. Sorry for talking to you bad. I didnt know you was an old man. Old men is allowed to make stupid mistakes. Did you know Max also had a couple exhibitions with Jack Dempsey? Private Message me and I will give you the web site to read all of this. I cant post on video comments.
Exhibition and a prizefight are two different things. Wow, some people are really not educated. I feel sorry for you quicknsick. But I guess your name tells it all.
Damn your such a retarded ass old man. I know what an exhibition is. A glorified sparring session. Still would have been interesting to see nonetheless.
And why do they charge to see exibitions? Cause they are still entertaining and still gives people a basic idea on who would have won had the two stepping in the ring in a prize fight. So go fuck yourself you fuckin fossil. I cant believe for a moment you had your own boxing radio talk show. Noone gives a shit what you think.
Sickperson: I was reading your comments with strict attention. Then you showed your true character with your language. I feel sorry for you and people that are around you. Some of the ex-boxers that I interviewed that were brain damaged, have more sense than you.
Buddy did not have the skill or talent of his brother Max but he had more guts and stood up to Louis

You can't hate on that.

oh you meant louis. that's even more of a joke.
neither klitschko is particularly tough. corrie sanders put both of them on their asses when he was like 40. now put them against the ring magazine's number 1 puncher of all time. joe had one punch ko power in either hand with a variety of punches. his hands were very fast and he was a brilliant combo puncher. he was also incredibly accurate, wasting almost nothing.
the klitschkos have both lost to much, much, MUCH lesser fighters.
Robstailey 9 months ago
@Robstailey Vitali ko's Louis. Whatever few losses you're gonna hold against him, in between all that consistent dominance, then you have to hold the losses and bad performances Louis had against him too. But you're not willing to do that. Louis has excuses on his side for Schmelling 1. This 6'7 bum lowered himself to Louis' size, and yet he still managed to get a good shot in. Stylistically Vitali cleans his clock. Lets not get caught up in ATG, Hall of fame hoopla Styles make fight
cupocity303 2 months ago
@cupocity303 Well, if Louis fought today he'd be abotu 25-30 pounds heavier and all of it muscle. Plus, his technique would be considerably better as they know more about fighting today. On top of that, h'ed have more endurance. He would be stronger. He would be quicker and he would be smarter. If Louis fought Vitali he would clean both of htem out of the division relatively easily. Louis was far more dominant a champion than those two clowns. Louis only lost once in his heyday.
ah93704 1 month ago
@ah93704 Could've, would've, should've. Your comment is now gone into a version of: Who wins between Superman and Batman. We can only take the fighters for what they are, not speculate on what they would look like if in a different time. You just basically created a whole new version of Louis and pick him to beat the Klitschko's, how ridiculous is that?
cupocity303 1 month ago
@cupocity303 You're the one saying lets put so and so against so and so. In order to do that, you have to put one fighter in the same era as the other. Seems logical, right? Well, you can't just say "lets have them meet in a neutral arena in a neutral time zone" See what I mean? They'd have to fight in some conjucture of time. Louis was much more accomplished than Klitchkos. Sure, the Klitchkos are very dominant and I appreciate theire slow,, methodical, destruction of various heavies
ah93704 1 month ago
@cupocity303 If you put Louis in todays era and he trained as they did today you'd have to assume he'd be bigger and stronger, no? If you too Vitali and put him in Loui's era, chances here he'd be smaller and weaker and slower. Then you have to factor in technique and things like that. Very difficult to compare fighters from different eras!
ah93704 1 month ago
@ah93704 No, no, you're giving a false premise here. You're automatically assuming that Louis would be a even better fighter in today's era, because he would be physically even stronger and bigger, while at the same time presuming that the Klitschko's would be weaker if they fought in Louis's era. How unfair is that? How about, The Klitschko's if brought up in that era would be much tougher because of the tougher environment, and thus just as good if not better fighters then today.
cupocity303 1 month ago
@cupocity303 They would need to be tougher after quitting because they hurt their poor shoulder. That was the biggest pussy move I've ever seen and with one round to go.
ah93704 1 month ago
@ah93704 Either Klitschko TKO's Louis in 4 or 5 rounds. Harping on a loss a decade ago isn't gonna get you anywhere.
Your nostalgia is dully noted.
cupocity303 1 month ago
@cupocity303 If you want to speculate on two fighters fighting from different eras you have to get them both into a particular era first. Then you have to realize that if they were fighting in that era atleast one of them is gonna be significantly different. You can't take them as they are because as time goes by sports nutrition and exercise physiology improves. They know more today about those things so it wouldnt be fair to Louis to just keep him as he was in the 1940's!
ah93704 1 month ago
@ah93704 No, what's not fair is having this automatic preference to guys from the past and dismissing current athletes who are dominating. That's like saying if some basketball player grew up in Michael Jordan's era, he would have the same hops and everything. It doesn't make sense and is wishful thinking. We have to keep in mind that you biased towards the past, therefore your presumptions are all wrong. Wlad isn't the same fighter at 6'1 and Louis wouldn't be the same at 6'7.
cupocity303 1 month ago
@cupocity303 Well, its obvious if you took Louis as he was and put him in there with Vladimir or Vitale he'd lose due to the size discrepency as well as the improvement in technique. But, if ieither fought in another era they'd be different as fighters. Louis lost just once in his prime and he avenged that loss. Most great champions defeat the fighter that was the best before them and Vitali failed to defeat Lennox Lewish. The Klitchkos have also lost to not so great fighters like Lamont Brews
ah93704 3 weeks ago
@cupocity303 brewster and Corey Sanders...there is simply no way the Klitchkose compare to Louis in terms of legacy and overall greatness. Based on that, if Louis fought today I maintain he'd clean their clocks. He'd defeat everyoen in the divison!
ah93704 3 weeks ago
@ah93704 I would tend to agree that Louis is ahead of the Klitschko's legacy wise, thus greater on paper. If Wlad can reach Louis' Title defense record, then he would have a case but I doubt he will get that far. With that said, legacy has nothing to do with ability. Wlad or Vitali KO Louis a lot sooner than Max Schmelling, and chop him down much worse.
cupocity303 3 weeks ago
@cupocity303 tend to agree? there is no comparison. Klitchko lost to bums, both of them, and the older one was soundly defeated by the previous champion. Louis defeated everyone in his path and the one time he was defeated he avenged that loss. The Klitchkos dont stand a chance in terms of legacy with Louis. And yes, the steroid using, modering day Klitchkos can defeat the 1930s version of Joe Louis who was naturally smaller and less evolved in style and boxing ability.
ah93704 3 weeks ago
@ah93704 I conceded that Louis is greater on paper. But lets pretend like he defeated all-timers, year after year. There is a reason why his title defenses were coined, bum of the month club. People tend to shit on The Klitschko's opposition but overrate the opposition of past greats because of their Nostalgic bias. And of course, The Klitschko's defeat the inferior Louis. They're 6'7 Aryan specimens and you have to invent a new Frankenstein Louis to beat them in fantasy matchups.
cupocity303 3 weeks ago
@cupocity303 I agree that the Klitchkoes get disrespected way too much. They have beaten some good fighters (Arreola, Peters come to teh top of my head) and I agree that they deserve more credit. Anyway, Louis did have his bum of the month. His manager (Joe Jacobs) saw that WW2 was looming and so he wanted to keep Louis busy. So, instead of really working on creating buzz in a fight and spacing them out he just found fighters willing to fight Louis and gave them their chance.
ah93704 2 weeks ago
@cupocity303 Jacobs wanted to make as much money off of Louis as possible. I think he was surprised at how easily Louis defeated all comers. I think its more of how Louis easily won all his fights than how they were bums. Go back and read up on some of his opponents and yuo'll see. They were good fighters (especially read about his first 10 defenses).
ah93704 2 weeks ago
@ah93704 RE: I think its more of how Louis easily won all his fights than how they were bums
Funny, that's exactly what the Klitschko's are doing now. And I would argue they're not even bums. But if they are crappy opposition, then the Klitschko's are doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing, which is dominate them.
cupocity303 2 weeks ago
@cupocity303 I agree with you on Klitchko BUT, and I think this is the point...the Klitchkos failed to defeat the former champion that was getting ready to retire. For me, that means the Klitchkos are way below Louis. They'll be lucky if htey make it in the top 20 of all time. Dominant champions but they suffered too many losses before they became dominant.
ah93704 2 weeks ago
@ah93704 This is not a fair criticism of the Klitschko's (i.e. Vitali if you meant that he failed to defeat Lennox). First it's not Vitali's fault that the fight got stopped, and there is a asterisk attached to that match. Second, it's not his fault that Lewis retired and he didn't have another crack at him. How is it fair to hold this one fight against him for eternity, when he made up for it with win after win? What if Max Schmeling retired after he Ko'd Joe Louis? Think about it.
cupocity303 2 weeks ago
@cupocity303 Its nto his fault that they stopped the fight but its Lennox's fault they did. That gash was serious and all the doctors said it needed to be stopped to protect Vitalis vision. The fact is that Vitali FAILED to defeat a man near the end of his career. Usually the younger up and comer defeats the older fight that has been around for a while. This show that Lennox Lewis was a top tier fighter and that Klitchko's will ALWAYS be behind him among others!
ah93704 2 weeks ago
@ah93704 Again, talk all you want. Fact is, the ending wasn't clear cut and Vitali has been making up for it even since with dominant victories. Again, if Max Schmelling had retired after beating Louis, would this same UNFAIR standard be used on Joe Louis, as you are using on Vitali? Vitali was less experinced than Lennox and took the fight on two weeks notice. He won more rounds but the fight got stopped beyond his power. And he never got another opportunity again (i.E. joe vs max)
cupocity303 2 weeks ago
@cupocity303 The ending was clear cut (was that pun intended..HA). Vitali sustained an injury over his eye caused by Lennox Lewis's fists. Had the fight gone on Vitali could have really seriously injured his eye. And yes, I try to be very consistant in my boxing analysis so I would have Louis lowered quite substantially had he never avenged that loss. He is lowered a tad for losing to Schmeling in the first place. Had he never lost that fight h'ed be considered even greated than he alreayd i
ah93704 2 weeks ago
@ah93704 If we're gonna compare with modern rules to fighters of generations past, then lets consider that the fight wouldn't have gotten stopped if it were 1940 or 50. THE ENDING WAS NOT CLEAR. If Vitali and corner had stopped the fight, YES. If Vitali had gotten really Ko'd or TKO'd, yes. Not when the Doctor stops it while the fighter wants to continue. Vitali had a axe to grind for throwing in the towel against Chris Byrd, he wasn't gonna quit that night.
cupocity303 2 weeks ago
@cupocity303 It probably wouldnt have been stopped back then so you're right about that. I agree that his legacy is less affected due to the fact that it was a stoppage by the ref and not a knock out. It actually was a TKO though. That loss will haunt him forever and he'll never have a chance to avenge it.He should have knocked Lennox out!
ah93704 2 weeks ago
@ah93704 There is no set in stone criteria for ranking fighters of all-times, or even P4P. It's all opinionated, and everyone has a opinion and their own bias, whether aware of it or not. Having said that, easily have both Wlad and Vitali over Marciano. I specifically isolated him from all your others. He is inferior to the Klitscho's in each and every way, and is lucky to have retired undefeated. Caught a lot of fighters at the right time of their careers.
cupocity303 2 weeks ago
@cupocity303 bull crap dude. Marciano was a much more successful pugilist than either Klitchkoes. He was lucky to retire undefeated? Are you kidding me? You obviously dont know anything about Rocky Marciaon. Maybe you should go read a book about his career. The Klitchkoes havent been nearly as successful as Marciano in their careers.
ah93704 2 weeks ago
@ah93704 LOL @ the knee-jerk reaction. Hilarious. You had a fun time berating the Klitschko's but I bring up Marciano, and you lose it. What, am I supposed to think highly of Marciano now? He is the weakest link on your list. David Haye and a few other Klitschko opponents would either outbox him or flat out TKo him. Sorry for hitting a nerve.
cupocity303 2 weeks ago
@cupocity303 Rocky Marciano never lost a single pro fight and the Klitchko sisters lost to Lamon Brewster and Cory Sanders. You cant even compare the two you boxing tyro. You're boxing analysis is stupid. You obviously dont know the rudiments of the fight game. Marciano was a master of his craft. A fighter that won by out conditioning his opponents. He defeated several hall of fame fightrers and Klitchko cant even beat up Lennox Lewis? You're an idiot when it comes to boxing!
ah93704 1 week ago
@ah93704 Statistics are meaningless. Joe Calzaghe retired also undefeated. It's like a grain of salt. Most of the ATG's, including the Klitschko's whipe the floor with Mariciano. Common we shouldn't even be debating this. Ali, Holmes, Foreman, Louis....fine. But Marciano? Even Larry Holmes said it: Marciano can't carry his jock straps. I mean, I can find a good Light-Heavyweight from the 2000-2012 era that would murder Marciano.
cupocity303 1 week ago
@cupocity303 Klitchko ran like a girl against a guy who was much lighter than him. Not to mention a novice compared to him. Do you think Marciano would ever run like a little girl? Rocky Marciano was twice the fighter that Klit sisters are. Rocky never lost. Has the highest ko ratio in history. Has defeated many more ATG's than both Klit sisters combined. You're probably just trying to piss me off. You're not making me mad you're making me laugh. Its pathetic how little you know about boxing!
ah93704 1 week ago
@cupocity303 Plus, Rocky is comparable to all the other ATG's in many ways. Mostly he is even better in punching power and ko ratio. the guy was a machine. have you ever seen him fight? have you ever boxed yourself? I have. I know what I"m speaking of dude. So,you need to take your stupid novice opinion and shove it. The Clit sisters are good but not great as champions.
ah93704 1 week ago
@ah93704 You're arguing from emotion. Rocky Marciano was a horrible fighter compared to other accomplished Heavyweights. Yes I have boxed before, that's irrelevant. Do not change the subject to Klitschko's. this is about Marciano and the fact that today's LIght-heavyweights would give him a run for his money. He was a lucky fighter who caught a few over the hill greats at the right time. Even your boy Louis would've sparked him had he been younger. YOU KNOW THIS.
cupocity303 1 week ago
@cupocity303 Nat Fleischer said of Rex Layne "he's the next Dempsey" and Marciaon destrooyed him. Boxing experts at the time regarded Roland LaStarza as being a great fighter due to his finesse and defensive acumen. It is true that Rockys most noteable fightts were against older fighters but so what? Lots of fighters fight older fighters. You cant help it when they win fights and earn their keep
ah93704 1 week ago
@cupocity303 I've read every book written about Marciaon. I've seen all of his fights that they have on film and I"ve ever gone to Brockton Mass to meet his brother and other family members at the museum they have for him. You simply dont know the era back then. That time period had more fighters fighting in America than we do today. How is that for competition? That means a bigger pool of fighters. It was even greater than it was during the 60's!
ah93704 1 week ago
@ah93704 You reading books and having met this or that person is irrelevant. I have eyes, I use empirical evidence. He is lucky to retire 49-0. That's not even that many fights for that era.
cupocity303 1 week ago
@cupocity303 You can't prove that he was lucky because what he did was not based on luck. It was based on skill and raw power. Nobody else has been able to duplicate his success.!

ah93704 2 weeks ago
@cupocity303 If Max retired then theres nothing old Joe could have done about it. The fact is, Loui's manager did a smart job in negotiating a title fight with Braddocks manager. Also, Louis stayed busy and won a few fights while Max stayed inactive. Both of those factors cost Schmeling a title fight. Anyway, Louis gave Max a title shot and hit him so hard Max was laid up in the hospital due to a screwed up back!

And another on August 27th 1936 in Canada that went 4 rounds. What a retarded ass name you have. Who the hell would name their kid burt? Some drunken hillbillies who had too much moonshine no doubt.

@burtwiseman it's interesting how you were the first one to use an insult, yet you now talk about his "true" character.
