This is actually "The Painter and The Jay," recorded in 2000 by a group called Ashley Park, led by a Canadian named Terry Miles (who wrote this song and sings it). It appeared on a compilation called "Kindercore Fifty: We Thank You," referring to Kindercore, Ashley Park's label (and which is probably the disc Savoytruffle96 mentioned).
So...not The Beatles nor The Kinks, but a good song nonetheless.
Tbh I think this is fake. I mean there is no record anywhere that this actually happened and neither has any member of the Kinks or the Beatles mentioned it. Also at various points in the song, the singer's imitation of the voices does lapse, as there are hints in the voice which are not recognisable to either Ray or the Beatles. (eg at 1:26)
Aside from probably being a fake, it is a pretty good song in all fairness and if someone could find the name of the real songwriter that would be cool.
for some reason, my dad had this song on a cd of random songs. I found it from old boxes in my basement. I love this song, and I wish I knew what it was.
that's either one of the davies brothers or george harrison singing....at least that's what I think...
Ashley Park are from Vancouver. Their best song is The Great Divide from the album The American Scene.

Not only is this NOT the Beatles or the Kinks, it's not even an english singer, or even a good song, it's ok but not good
