I was at the game, and I was also at all the practices for both the world team and the U.S. team. First off the U.S. team was leading the entire game and could have won by 25 easy. They just got sloppy and where out coached at the end. Talent wise the U.S was and is a thousand times better. The only way to determine a real international champion is to have a best of 7 game series. A team (like PR) can get lucky in a single game, but not over a series.
I wonder if a black dominated NBA is good for business. Since Bird retired the numbers have been declining and after Jordan have really gone down. Not roller derby numbers yet, but it's headed that way.

The NBA as a brand cannot allow itself to be merely 'as good as' or 'slightly better than'. Euro players, in any setting, cannot be shown as equivalent. Thus, only one Euro to a team (even a Larry Bird on an otherwise all-black team would have been merely good) . No games against Euro all-stars.

Soccer is germane for the reasons it is universally played and there are no economic barriers to success. It requires skill and athleticism. No doubt Black America, 41 million strong, can spare a few of its talented members to show the world how to play soccer properly.
3 recent NBA MVPs went to Euros (if we can count Nash as Euro, born in South Africa, raised in Canada, maybe so?). Clearly when Kobe wins the MVP he's carrying his team on his back. Would not this apply to others?

If Nowitzki or Nash had been American they would have never made it to the NBA. American coaches at all levels have a fetish for black players. Even when college programs such as UNC and Duke have success with white players no one thinks to emulate them by also recruiting white players.
If American blacks are truly superior they would not have lost a 19 and under tournament nor would they have lost in the Olympics or World Games.

They will for sure be a top 25 maybe even top 15 team, with or without Wall.
But you can't go from losing in the 2nd round of the NIT to being a legit contender in one year. Calipari will do well at UK no doubt, but I just don't see it happening right away.
Meeks isn't for sure ocming back yet.

Point taken. There are tons of "ifs" right now, but I could just as likely see Orton going to KU and Uk landing Henry and Wall as I could Uk missing on both. Time will tell.
If I was a betting man though, Meeks is coming back. He's a second round pick at best right now and Cal's offense will help his handle and drive improve for the league. I expect Pat to tests the waters, get some advice and come back as well. JMO. Either way, UK is back and I think the BBN will be patient as Cal is proven.
