If you compare the gr-20 with the new Roland GR-55 the GR-20 looks like a toy and it is a childtoy. The GR-55 is made for professionals.

@dermanz because its awesome! :) I got a Gr-33 for $300.. To me that's pretty reasonable for all the cool stuff it can do. You can find a Roland GR-09 for about $200 with the pickup and everything. That'd be a great way to get introduced into guitar sync for fairly cheap.

It could be that your, well, much much better than me on the guitar. Which you are LOL, but aside from that the tracking seems better than hooking my Roland VG-99 midi converter to my synths with the GK3 pickup. I hope it's just me doing something wrong because it's a great VG-99 function. I mainly play keyboards and piano. However, I love the guitar and was, well far more worried about the VG-99 sounds etc being put into say a Roland AX-synth, which I'm sure could be done.

It's kind of tough to dial-in this thing for your playing style. I had a LOT of ghost notes using this (phantom notes being triggered even though I wasn't playing them). Once you get it set up properly, it can be a lot of fun.

@Chaz6993X Yes then we have the not inconsiderable problem of polyphony. Anyone explain how you could play Chopin's Noctures or Etudes on 6 strings ? An 88 note guitar ? If you mean eliminate the half-wit 3-chord keyboard player then you might be right but the piano keyboard remains a highly developed and efficient means of playing complex polyphonic music.
