  • static straps are for pussies!!!

  • Thank youuuuuuu!!! :) These tutes really take away the stress of doing the first ever build!

  • what kind of job do you have Just wondering

  • To install a new motherboard to replace an old one you have to take all of the components out of the pc correct?

  • @LegitJuiceBocks No you leave it all in and put the new motherboard on top of the old one. This should allow you to have double the performance of your old computer. Make sure while your performing this, to wet your hands profusely. Rocks also serve as a good conductor of electricity and spacing. To separate the motherboards evenly make sure to find the biggest rocks you can find. Duct tape should keep your new build in place. Press the power button and wait for the magic to begin! enjoy! :)

  • @henryb8780 Is this true? Rocks? It sounds like madness. @.=.@

  • that looks like your old one

  • great video man, thank you

  • Excellent video, havn't seen a motherboard installation video this well made yet on youtube. Keep up the good work!

  • very good at walking trough it, always good to take it slow, especially when you teach newbies.

  • I used a magnetic screw driver with an Asus Rampage extreme III ATX Motherboard and nothing bad happened to the mobo. Are you sure that mobos are highly sensetive to low magnetic sources such as screw drivers?

  • @Valsam75 magnetic screw drivers have too low of a current to affect modern MOBO components. :)

  • Hey thanks, this is really well made video! Last time I had a motherboard I put it in my old case(back in 2008) and it didnt work or power on. I was wondering why it wouldn't, idk if it short circuited cuz I called for a replacement and it came out in the same result, idk if it needed standoffs because their were risers and pretty sure it didnt need em, now this was a micro atx case with a micro atx mobo. If you could, can you please give me some sort of answer so I don't make the same mistake!

  • if i dont have those spacers where can i buy them and what do you call them can i get a picture on them?

my motehrboard quit working after 2years but i never had the spacers or anything..

my case only had hitened points .. but dont know.

can you message me or something tell me what i can buy to make this propperly work this time?

  • i got an asus m4a79xtd and my case only came with 6 of those brass fittings plus the motherboard itself is larger than the backplace where the brackets go. is this normal or is my case not an atx even though it says for atx motherboards place the screws in the "A" slots. Which i did and the motherboard didn't line up with them whatsoever

  • I have the Same Case, But mine is the Cooler Master 690 nVidia Special Edition ATX Mid Tower Case :D

If anyone is wondering if the V8 cooler master cpu cooler will fit in this Case , Yes Yes it will fit in this case :D Barely :o

  • you should tell ppl, that if they screw down the motherboard, that the screws dont have to be extremly tighten, one time a friend of mine cracked his motherboard cuz he was thinking he was builing an aircraft ore something

  • interesting. you always have interesting videos.. have a ncie day cant wait till next one.

  • Another tip:

When putting the motherboard screws in, Put in a corner screw. I always put in the top left screw first (no idea why) and then the bottom right. Then after you have two diagonal screws in, put the other two corners in. Then you can work on putting in the other screws.

  • man up u dont need a static bracelet lmao xD

  • @Jay42o0 Just got one because if I made a video where I didn't have it, people would point it out.

  • @huskermania lol right i guess good videos tho

  • I've got a question. How much did all your components cost cumulatively?

  • @swimmerbc Initially $1000.

  • @huskermania would that be cheeper than buying a pc made by an actual company?

  • @swimmerbc yes, and it's easier to turn it into a hackintosh (:

  • @huskermania does that price include extra things? (Monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers.)

  • how do you know how much watts you need to build your computer?

    thanks

  • @TheFuMasta96 It depends on the hardware you choose. For example, if you run dual video cards, you'll need more. Most equipment shows the recommended power necessary, and you'll want to add all that up and that is the MINIMUM. Typically, it is a good idea to go higher to be safe, in case you want to upgrade later. Try: [[ support.asus .com/PowerSupplyCalculator/PSCalculator .aspx?SLanguage=en-us ]] without the spaces or brackets, obviously.

  • @xcodyj thanks it really helped alot

  • @TheFuMasta96 Yeah, @xcodyj got it right. I added up all the components' power requirements to find the minimum. I use around 500-550 when encoding videos and playing games. I went with a 850W one because that way I'll have some leeway room when adding onto the computer. Since the PSU won't be at its max, it'll (In most cases) also run cooler.

  • @huskermania thanks

  • "make sure we have our strap on" thats what she said

  • Nice vid but theres already like 100000 vids about this XD

  • @JoseSFS

Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one :)

  • @56grishnak65

    Lol true xD

  • omcuc 850W too much man

  • @cOriticAl I got 850W so I could upgrade with ease in the future. It's more than I need now, but I'd rather have more than not enough later down the road if that makes any sense.

  • That's cool. :D
