Hello he is an instructor. This is a teaching a video, and from what I know there is nothing wrong with a wedding band. Thanks Chef Peter its a very good video, great job :).
Aristotle, washing your hands often is a few hundred times as important as taking off your rings. Bacteria are averse to heavy metals - gold, silver - in the first place. Some medical supplies are coated with silver for that reason. Point me to one reliable study or confirmed case of someone getting ill because their cook wore a ring. Otherwise, lay off the old wives tale.
I thought taking rings and watches off was more related to them being very good temp conductors and so being likely to get very hot and burning your skin. Sure, if you´re just going to cut vegetables then it´s no biggie, but chances are you´ll be handling fire in a kitchen and so such jewlery should be ideally removed.
That is a good point. I believe rings or watches or bracelets could increase the severity during and/or ischemia after a severe burn. I wouldn't call it likely, but it is possible that taking off a ring could mean the difference between a horrible burn that will eventually heal and losing a finger. I've definitely seen pictures of severe burns where jewelery or whatnot winds up embedding in skin. Nice catch, gund.
thanks for these videos. anyway you can put up some on effective tomato cutting techniques?
