4 wolves were killed, two were eaten by the cast at the orders of director Joe Carnahan. Liam Neeson even brags about going back for seconds. If you agree that this movie will do a lot of harm to an alreay weakened wolf population, and that eating wolf as some form of "method acting" is not acceptable, then we urge you to NOT see this movie!
around 2:05-2:07 you actually see the alpha wolf attack liam, NOTE: that was not in the real movie, which makes me think that the final showdown will be in the DVD, HOPEFULLY
@xXJRD913Xx Yeah the director stated that he shot a scene where Ottway fights the Alpha, but he never intended to use it. He said that he will release the fight scene in the deleted scenes.
this movie has become my favorite movie ive seen yet. It was amazing, and the soundtrack playing was just fantastic as well. It wasnt just a survival movie, it had several ties into it with the meaning of life on the line. Really amazing, 10/10
saw this movie yesterday night, it was Surprisingly Good, and when i say that then i mean Surprsingly Epic, as i the Title The Grey sounded dull and i thought i'd fall asleep through the movie, ofc if my friend had told me that Liam Neeson was starring in it i had known otherwise, this movie was so Fantastic it is hard to find a one good complimentary word, it was one of those movies that come once every 5 years, one of those movies where you have to see it to belive it!
i haven't heard those stories, but certainly wolf hybrids tend to retain the wolf's primitive instincts, and having lost the wolf's innate fear or shyness of humans, can make them more unpredictable and dangerous. there is a controversy about whether or not people should be allowed to own wolf hybrids or wolf-dog hybrids. i don't think i would want to own one, especially since i have a kid.// but let me tell you, i met two wild wolves in a field and they were awesome to see. very smart and shy.
great flick, but what a disservice to the wolves. wolves do not attack people--forget the 30 mile close to the den thing. it has happened in very rare cases. i knew of one in ontario, canada when a lady entered a cage and was torn to pieces by a captive wolf. another was a rogue wolf that attacked a man in the country. the guy got this headlock on it and managed to survive long enough for other men to come and scare it away. actually i met two wild greys in a field. they watched me and left.
@vinnynumbnuts Ive heard stories of people own wolf hybrids and they would break out and go kill peoples dogs, cats, goats, etc, and only attack humans if they tried to stop them. Never seen them in wild though, wild dogs though they will attack you for no reason if you come near
@PinkNinja971 did you stay for after the credits? it was only about 5 seconds long but it showed that liam's character tied with the alpha and they both died
@BlurplBeryTAZ no i didn't. i was with my parents and my dad wanted to get out of the theatres a.s.a.p. because he hates sitting through the credits. wish i knew that there was a scene after the credits otherwise i would've made him stay but what can u do ya know?

@sambook2 um.......no it's not. Just google the grey alternate ending. There's an article that states that he made an alternate ending.

@openseam Sambook's right. That particular scene is actually in the movie. It's not the alernate ending.

Amazing movie. Loved that Liam Neeson was the main character. Of course, almost everyone in the theatre was crying. (Except for the wolves.)
