Zendikar is really Zen(Enlighten), dikar backwards is Kardi, Greek for Heart. So Zendikar means Enlighten Heart. The set will be a mixture of the Greek and Oriental theme. An ancient shangrila type like lost civilization. I hope this help you guys out.

They made the enchantments that give +1+1 better then they use to. Use to pay 2 and give +1+1 to all blue creatures and had to pay an upkeep of two. I played in the old days.

I GOT AN ELVISH ARCHDRUID AT A PRERELEASE! I personally think it is a ton improvement from Elvish champion because it only targets your elves, instead of making all you opponnent's elves get +1/+1 and forestwalk.

Dang, but I also got the Master of the Wild Hunt (put a 2/2 wolf tolken on the battle field under your control during your upkeep) and I traded some cards for a Stuffy Doll (Time Spiral), a Liliana Vess(Lorawyn), an Ant Queen (1F; put a 1/1 insect tolken on the battlefield), and two Howl of the Night Pack (making 3 of em in my mono green deck.). I also got the TOTALLY AWESOME White Knight in a pack, as well as a Seige Gang commander. Moreover, I remember a ton of cards from my dad's collection!!

Verdect on 2010: Overall it is decent.

as everyone is saying... It will only be legal for one year... A few staple cards, which will again impact standard for a limited time. But the biggest impact it will have is outside the cardbard; away from the table. Rules, and cards which didn't make the reprint cut such as Wrath and the like.

Also, I'm very excited about M10 because there are some great cards being released. The only thing that REALLY boils my blood about this set is that its only going to be legal for ONE year. That sticks in the back of my mind as I think about the cards I want to buy. The prices stay the same, but the time I have to invest in this set is cut in half, which makes me feel like I'm wasting money because I'll get less use from these cards in standard than every card I've ever owned. No fair wizards.

Why is everyone so hyped about Baneslayer Angel? With the amount of removal in standard right now, Baneslayer will be an afterthought to experienced players.

It can still be Pathed, O-Ringed, Doombladed, Terminated, Banefired, Unsummoned, Slave of Bolas'ed/Sarkan Vol'ed back in your face, etc, and etc.

With this much removal available, it would be good with haste or a coming into play effect, but at the moment most players will laugh when you waste a turn casting one. BFD.

Well here's I'll try my best:

When creatures attack the other player assigns their blockers, the attacker trys to kill each blocker in succesion and if it manages to kill all the blockers it does it's damage so:

Let's say Grizzly Bear (2/2) attacks you and you block with two Raging Goblins

(1/1). The Grizzly takes 1 damage from killing the first Goblin and another from the second, the bear is dead and you have succesfully blocked.

Also, I don't like Planar Cleansing in place of Wrath because the White board wipe loses its practicality. If you lose control of the board and need to get rid of creatures, now you'll also lose permanents you might want to keep, like Oblivion Rings, Borderposts, Behemoth Sledges, etc. In other words, if your opponent takes control of the field, Planar Cleansing might hurt you as well as help you, especially if you've already dropped O-Rings. Wrath was better - admit it.

Give me a break. These name changes aren't at all surprising, and we should all stop making excuses for them and speak the truth no one wants to hear. Wizards is a company, and companies need to make money. Changing all these old cards into new cards with the same effects but different names forces players who use them to REBUY. Duh. Let's not play dumb here. Magic 2010 is a stealthy way of selling players cards they've already bought all over again.

Yeah and your opponent will just sit and wait.. polymorph and a counterspell like negate is 6 mana. Most of the time, aggro wins by turn 5, midrange wins by turn 6, and even if you'll put your progenitalius into play you still have to attack with it. Twice. Which means that your opponent has 2 more turns to kill you after you played your "combo".

If baneslayer isnt 6 CMC then i'm frustrated at serra angle is a simply worse card that is easyer to get. Same with Kalonian Behemoth being much much much better than Enormous Baloth at the same cost (i know it cant be giant growthed but neither can it be DoomBladed, Terminated, Twiddled ect.)

its not completly about creatures they do have a load of intresting spells to dish out.

wrath of god is just 1 card that is insanely strong that may be replaced by something in the next set. TBH i think its gr8 that wog is gone. The set on the whole is a gd solid set that will see plenty of play. i think wog will be back in a few years in a diffrent form but intill then the wog era is over lol (well for standard) =D

With the removal of WoG and the non-existence of a hard counter at 2 mana, no Negate and Remove Soul don't count, Control style decks will almost not exist in Standard Magic and that is a tragedy of monumental proportions. I really thought that with the increase in the power level of M10 that Counterspell might have actually got reprinted. It's at the right power level and as a single spell it exemplifies what Magic, as an interactive game between two players, should be. Agro.format is boring.

If you want to play with powerful spells, as was the initial intention, play Vintage. It's a lovely format that truly encompasses what Magic is all about.

Nobody seems to be mentioning this but the wording on the new white sweeper and a lot of other new cards is designed to hose planeswalkers in subtle ways. If you look in the past few sets there's a lot less "target artifact, creature, or land" and a lot more "target non-blah permanent" too, for example.

I've stopped playing magic for a bit now. It grew expensive and the people around my city just wasn't my cup of tea. But I still have this channel subscribed. Why? Because Evan Erwin makes something that I pretty much hate enjoyable in 20 minutes blocks. Now when my other friends talk about magic I'm not totally lost, just somewhat, great vid and keep up the good work! I may buy that playmat and I don't even play the game!

Great episode, but I do think that WotC may have gone a little too far in their attempts to stop control. I understand not wanting control to overrun the format, but the loss of Wrath means that aggro has no real checks on it until (potentially) Zendikar, unless you count midrange.

Not quite happy with the loss of Wrath, and it's not strictly a "this card's so iconic it should be untouchable" thing, it's more "aggro has more powerful cards than ever, so why take away one of the few things that can slow it down?"

It's become painfully obvious that WotC doesn't know how to sell the game of Magic as it has been anymore, and, desperate for profit as they are, have decided to turn it into YGO.

all the polymorph decks people are running on mws are just terrible. you sworm them with ww or mono red and they get a big dude that can only block 1 guy and takes 2 turns to kill with, and prog cannot block collossus which is every where.

progen can block 10 of colossus's 11 damage. I don't see colossus being "everywhere" with path, o-ring, unmake, etc. & the massive presence of white in the metagame. Colossus is just as slow as progenitus when it comes to a 20 point life total. he can get flashed in with master transmuter. =/

It's an insanely strong card, sure, but I think winning with progen via polymorph could be a little bit stronger than trying to get a colossus and keep him there for lethal.

Maybe i'm missing something.

I don't think the angel will be that much to worry about, White has been lacking in a good beater in a while and I would love to be playing mono white control/midrange soon. Of course removal still kills it, and the last two abilities are generally not ever gonna see a significant use.

You stated that Doom Blade is strictly better than terror. It is not.

The gain of being able to hit artifact creatures is balanced by the loss of the "no regeneration." You can regenerate from Doom Blade, but you can't from Terror.

regeneration is incredibly weak now, but as I said, when cards like path and o-ring leave standard when Lights comes in, and when wizards prints some efficient creatures with regeneration, of *course* regeneration will be stronger.

if you drop terror, wrath of god, and incinerate from standard, regeneration simply gets stronger.

unfortunately white is so strong now that unless they phase out exile effects from cheap removal, regen will still be a weak ability.

Because of the protection from fae colors, they have as Evan said Mutavault to deal with it and that is it, well unless they sower of temptation one of your dudes, but sower is an easy card to deal with.
