@411jna1 If you have a new wii like the new black ones, theyre no longer making them gamecube compatible so you might just have to stick with your gamecube, if you bought the new super mario bros wii bundle then this is probably the case.

Ok please i need help! I am desperatly trying to play gamecube games on my wii, but i won't work. I have a memory card and i have a controler, and a game of course. I plug in the memory card and the controler, put in the game but it always says: Unable to read disc. The disc is not dirty, it is fine. So i don't get what is wrong. I tried putting it in the wrong way, but that didn't work either. What can i do!!!?? PLease help.

@MrSaxxia you need gb controller AND sd card or something for gb. you see another compartment next to the one he showed you. put the card in there. put the disc for gb in the wii just like a wii game. press start [ still with the wii controller] then use gb controller like he showed you... then play

Can someone please help meee!!! I want to play gamecube games on my wii, but i won't work. I have the control, i have the game, i don't have a memory card, but i don't need to save. the 360 and PS3 both had backwards compatibility to start with (360 still has, but it's still not great) and for the PS3 Sony had true BC in their first models but then went for software emulation and found that it just wasn't worth it, so took it out in future models to bring down the price.

yes,you have to have a gamecube controller to play and a gamecube memory card to save just look for a compartment (it looks like a long straight crack in the console) and open up both of them. Then plug in the controller and memory card. Next use your wii remote and go to spot where you click to play games at. Then put your gamecube game in. he said that didnt he?

If they're still not working properly, the discs are new, and it's not reading the games, you'll likely need to contact Nintendo about repairs.
