I think that some elevators at RIT has a strange set up or occurance. And this is my first year at RIT. some i wich tehy would just replace or get a better motor.
Actually, the Dorm elevator just used Best locks. There are 2 different sets for that one - one for facilities workers and students who need to use the elevator to transport large objects - and another one for handicap students that works with a lower, more accessible panel.
What is the point of putting a code for the elevator, if you are going to put the numbers right there in plain sight? Why even have a "passworded" elevator?

This elevator reminds me of the Kettering University Dorm Dover elevator, and a Montgomery elevator that I also have that uses keypads.

I've only seen one elevator that has the keypad to call the elevator here in Little Rock.

Pretty interesting how you have to key in a code to call the elevator, I haven't seen that before. Nice elevator tough.
