  • lawl top deck monument epic magic

  • blocking visionary all day

  • what do the dice represent?

  • @Ramulan45 counters that the card will say put like 3 counters on this card an stuff like that

  • @Ramulan45 counters that the card will say put like 3 counters on this card an stuff like that.....like wen this card comes into play put 3 +1/+1 counters on this card

  • Hey! Awesome!, is that a girl playing magic? :D

(if it isn't. i am very sorry. Didn't mean to offend. i assumed Kali was a girl name....@_@)

    More girls should play magic....

Nice game btw, nice to see a nissa revane for once (Y)

  • joraga warcaller+primal cacoon= OMG SO FUCKING SWEET =D

  • Yes, please narrate. The glare off the card sleeves makes it really hard to figure out what's going on.

  • is the player on the right ocd cause they are crazy with moving their cards around

  • eldrazi green matches are soooo boring...

  • its nissa revane. i luve her!

  • Shrout cheated at like 10:08 I think. He puts a Graypelt Refuge into play untapped, then taps it for a second Elvish Visionary in the same turn he dropped the Comes into play tapped land. Not that it mattered, but still. BTW, what's going on with the guy verbally jerking Mind Rot off in the background?

  • @CubbyBlues17

He plays Oran Rief first turn (Tapped)

Then plays an older forest and Drops visionary

Then plays sunpetal Grove (which is not tapped due to having a forest) and plays Nissa's Chosen, then pumps it w/ Oran Rief

  • Edit- Oops, I see what you mean now, at like 10:30 something haha

  • dude i would be so nervous at 24:00 i would not be able to keep track of anything haha

  • Greetings all,

Kinda on the middle here. I like this show a LOT.I believe Evan does a marvelous job of getting us behind the scenes and showing us the tour... which we dearly want to be in ourselves. But in this specific video case... we need some form of narration/card indicator... honestly just because the glare prevents us from seeing many of the cards :)

Nothing personal.. heck, maybe a polarizing filter?

    Cheers,

    ~R

  • you guys need to get your dicks out of evans bloody butt hole. its not that hard to narrate a video it literally takes half an hour. its even easier to put those little text notes on the screen that name which cards are being played.

  • brianflayer, i think you should appreciate how hard it is to get footage like this. narration would be nice but really, thats asking alot of evan. Im sure that if he had the time to narrate it he would have; look at all the prime examples hes given us so far

  • @Phiz787 Agree. I think Evan does a great job. But without narration it's hard to really follow this match.

  • fair enough, it is hard to follow, just not worth the criticisms its receiving

    (thx defias)

  • what the fuck narrator? tell me what cards are being played not everyone can recognize every card in the set by picture.

  • Why are you so upset? He was nice enough to post the video, he weekly provides revelation and commentary on the events of magic, and he often provides interviews with the people who make the game you so enjoy. So, brainflayer, calm the fuck down! You don't have to watch the video, you could probably find a wordy, boring synopsis of the match on some website if you wanted to know the intimate details of the match. Don't be a douche just because you don't get everything you want.

  • Look at 10:18 Andrew played an untapped Graypelt Refuge! What a cheater!

  • MIND BREAKING

  • Eldrazi Elves seems fun. It's been a while since a monoG has been a contender. Really happy that new archetypes are emerging, given the Jund-Jund-Jund that Standard has been lately (and no, Vamps aren't a real deck yet -- if a good build wins a $5k somewhere we'll talk again)

@SCG: Would it really be too much trouble to put in captions/subtitles? Just listing life totals and played spells/activated abilities would be enough to REALLY improve the viewer experience. Thanks for the vid!

  • STILL HAD THEESSSEEEEE

  • Maybe I'm just a ****ing noob, but does anyone else think that these Eldrazi decks have some serious flaws?

A single Naturalize can neutralize the Monument as soon as it enters play.

A Fog could leave a player wide open if they attack, which won't happen either if you bluff that the game isn't over yet.

And why not pack another Eldrazi Monument in the deck, that way you draw yours before they draw theirs?

  • That's why you put more than one of the Eldrazi Monuments in the deck.

  • 1. It doesn't need eldrazzi to beat you, it just helps. Main deck naturalizes aren't great in this meta game.

    2. Fog wouldn't be bad for the mirror match, but this was a rogueish deck they didn't expect to be playing other mono g's

    3. having 4 main deck eldrazzi leads you to more awful openings where you have 2-3 in your opening hands, those are terrible opening hands and will cause you to lose/mulligan more games then an extra one will win. Again maybe have one in the sb for mirror.

  • i agree completly the whole oran reif mana excell/ Ant Queen. Not including the oran/gurruk untap

  • then have sideboarded fog's.... and thats why they have 3 so their'll be some other win conditions besides monument

  • Whats with all that background chatter? Y not edit it with your own commentary like you always do Evan?

  • Some Ugly Ass Basic Forests On The Left

  • i wonder if the anderson's even had a sb for this matchup

  • so this deck it's pretty much sadistic sacrament then GG?

  • hey idiots, that's not a greypelt refuge it's a sunpetal grove

  • its 9;50 friend...greypelt is cast den its untap...it suppose to tapped...cheat beats kali...cheaters...

  • STFU Its SunPetal Bitch Refuge Lands Suck Dick Anyways

  • at 10:21 in this video, Andrew played a Graypelt Refuge...but untapped. CHEATS!

  • the only way to beat this is to volcanic fallout those pesky mana elves before the eldrazi player can get enough mana for the monument. then thought hemorrhage for eldrazi monument and this should be gg.

if u cant't toast the small green dudes it's all over.

  • no 1 drop no 2 drop no 3 drop t 4 master of the wild hunt? lol

  • I hate elves

    Goblins FTW

  • does anyone play 5cc anymore?

    I do sometimes

  • control is terrible in this format.

  • BAHAHAHAHA

  • the question is how well would this fair against gr elves?

  • I hope we can get a finals match video. G on G seems pretty boring, basically whoever topdecks eldrazi first so long as you can maintain relative creature parity.

  • The only reason they look so boring is because they're elves lists.

  • What about Vampires? no ones playin vamps?

  • As far as I know they didn't top,

  • Vamps sucks.

  • Vampires is terrible, too easy to lose to white knight or great stable stag. red/black vampires has a chance of being good but it makes mr vampire lord much worse and a vampire deck without him is bad.

  • @Grotesk you don;t know what you're talking about. Vampires only real weakness is RDW. Board correctly pack the proper removal and gg to everything else. I have never had any issue dealing with stag or white knight as mono black vampires. I am however happy to see chameleon colossus rotated. 4/4 double it's p/t for 4, + pro black, in a format with no sac removal except turning it into 2 1/1 goblins?!? That card sucked. It was way overpowered post m10, but only for 3 months, not too bad.

  • You are wrong, I was at PT:Austin, not a single vampire deck did better than 3-5.

  • Comment removed

  • True. Vampires aren't a strong archetype yet. Hopefully with Worldwake that will change.

  • i have eldrazi vampires they won 1rst 3 times at my locals

  • Comment removed

  • Gj that decks looks really good, I wonder how to attack it?

  • maybe when worldwake comes out they'll print one more good counter and one more good burn and counterburn will be reborn! I think that could deal with this deck on a good 50-50 or even 60-40 chance...

  • Every game I play at FNM has less errors than these people.

  • I should've drove up there and slapped them both around.....DAY OF JUDGEMENT anyone? besides a lone path to exile there was no control in this matchup grr....

  • You're talking about a 1:367 chance of them being able to counter a planeswalker or eldrazi with a negate. that's less than .01 chance.

  • Yeah, because Day of Judgment can kill creatures when the Monument is out..

OR: They just rebuild with Garruk + Nissa.

  • He scooped and then asked if it was lethal so it doesn't really matter if she lied about it or not by that point.

  • NOT A SUNPETAL GROVE

  • You're absolutely right, it's without a doubt a Graypelt Refuge, which would come into play tapped...

    Where were the judges?

  • @janerik126 He gained 1 from the come into play tapped land bringing him to 21 she attacked with the visionary bringing him to 19 then attack with a visionary and a nissa chosen thus he was at 15. So if she would have done 16 he would be dead.

  • ELVES WILL RULE MAGIC ONCE AGAIN!!1 Muhahahaha

  • It's reassuring to see someone cheat (see 10:17) and still lose the game! You know you make me wanna.. SHROUT!

  • ROFL! Show stacked combat damage to get the Choosen killed? That's soooo 2008...

My God, this game was full of play errors...

  • Comment removed

  • He did put a refuge into play untaped

  • Let's all sing together....

You know you make me wanna.. SHROUT!

Kick my heels up and.. SHROUT!

Throw my hands up and.. SHROUT!

Throw my head back and.. SHROUT!

    Come on now.. SHROUT!

  • How would that make it like Yu-Gi-Oh? I understand how it is similar to magic but i don't see in your assertions.

  • All of the top decks currently are just take down their points with "monsters". So simple. I just thought Zendikar would be at least slightly open to control or combo as well as aggro, but so far its yet another Lorwyn block.

  • Every set kills people with creatures, that's what magic is all about, on occasion you'll do some retarded combo or kill with a burn spell but creatures are the basic win condition of the game.

  • well the guy on the left was really unlucky; he never drew the monument in any of his games.

Then again, he deserves to lose since he made ants on his own turn against someone using vastwood

  • Good video but could've used some commentary to make it a little bit more interesting to watch.

  • Way to go Kali!

Hopefully she'll start attracting more of the fairer sex to our wonderful game that is Magic.

    Thanks for getting this Evan!

  • lol she almost tricked him into killing the rat at 13:30

  • She didnt have 5 mana to tap...so why he scoop??? at 8:50

  • she didn't have five mana from lands but she did have elvish archdruid that can tap to add 1 green for each elf she controls so that was enough because elderazi monument pumps the team +1/+1 and gives indestructibility and flying to her creaturs

  • She had an archdruid that could tap for 4

  • i might not have been playing close enough attention, but did he put the refuge into play untaped?

  • Yeah i think he did

when i saw that i had to rewind the vid and watch it again and it doesnt look like a sunpetal grove at all

    cheeeeeeeeaaaaaaaattttttteeeeeeerrrrrr lol

  • the fact that he actually used the land makes it all that much worse

  • I don't get how Kali won when she lost to Todd in the top 8.

  • So was top 4 all playing mono green elves?

  • no its this eldrazi green deck and i'm amazed it posted the results it did

  • Yep. Pretty strong bro! :)

  • lol @ the John Madden impersonation
