  • hi Simon, just like to comment on your pottery clips. I think they are very interesting and real, not clinical feels like iam sitting in your studio on a one to one. I cant get on with anything once i start watching your demos. keep it up what would we do without you Simon. brill xxx

  • Really beautiful piece - also liked it as it was first shown with limited number of arms.

  • thanks so very much for your video 'clips', i'm hooked. i love being one of your video students. The best on you tube!!!!!!!

  • I think it's sad galleries put beautiful ceramic work under glass boxes, or have signs "DO NOT TOUCH"

I think ceramics is just as tactile an artform as it is visual - The fluting would feel great ;p

  • Lovely pattern. Reminds me of a sea shell, as does the shape of the lid.

Please don't forget to show us these after they are glaze fired!

  • awesome design. Was this thrown as two identical bowl shapes and then trimmed as a top and bottom? I can't wait till school is open again and I can get back to throwing ^^ you're a great inspiration and I love watching your videos!

    -MC

  • Hi MC - yes more or less the same top & bottom but the bottom one has a gallery or recess so the lid fits securely. You need to measure with calipers when doing this . SL

  • How is your latest students doing?

Sounds abit like Robbi on the wheel in the background?

He was doing so well on his own, must have been on a wheel before!

I think that would great fun helping someone develope a broader scope?

Oh don't get me wrong I do love my students

but it's fun to when they are a little more independent and develope thier own styles!

    Right?

  • absolutely right !SL

  • " Simon Say's" HaHa

    Gorgeous box!

    Looks like a beautiful Seashell.

    Thank you!

  • The wonderful thing about your sharing is that it feels very one-on-one. I've always longed to do an apprenticeship. Gives me a tiny bit of that.

  • Very, very nice effect! Simple = elegant

  • Simon - another delightful video. Thanks for encouraging us. Elegant little jewelry

    box.

  • Very nice!

  • The hacksaw blade seems to work well. Have you ever used wood carving tools for this?
