Its a bit sad, cause Obi-Wan is a true Jedi. He never would love her, cause he know that is forbidden. But i think if Obi-Wan really fells in love with her... it would probably work... with lots of luck!

But i like the pair Obi-Wan/Padme defenitly more than Anakin/Padme...

You all forget that Obi-Wan is a true Jedi, and he fully understands that he is forbidden to love. They are supposed to be completely selfless. So Obi and Padme would have never worked because Obi would never consider it.

You know I think that Obi-wan loved Padme all along but saw Anakin flirting with her and calling her an angel so he proubably gave up on her too soon. I always like imagining that he did love her and was always there for her!

And the most important thing is that if Obi Wan and PAdme had an unrequited love story then Obi wan line about how Darth VAder betrayed and murdered your father luke actually works if Obi-Wan is lukes dad. VAder actually kills Obi in front of Luke.

Like when Obiwan and Anikan met padme first in attack of the clones and anikan makes some crack about her beauty and obiwan has this 'omfg-back off' look lol x The way starwars should have been is obidala all the way :-) xxxxxxxxx

Lets not forget it isnt Anakin who runs off to save Obiwan on Geonosis, its Padme.

This would have been a much better plot line and it would certainly explain why obi stays around on tatooine to look after luke and then he runs off to help leia. It also nicely explains Anakins sense of betrayal from the jedi. And lets face it Anakin is like 20 years younger than Padme in the first movie so an young boys infatuation with a princess whos actually in love with obi wan goes a lot further in explaining Anakins brattiness.
