  • No, actually it happens in New Jersey in the Pine Barrens with the Jersey Devil.

  • Aye it does, it's happening in my back garden right now.

  • I just watched the movie.... I HATE RELIGION!! I HATE GOD!!! I HATE ALL THE GODS!! I HATE ALL THE BELIEVERS!!! Fuck you christians, fuck you muslims, fuck you all who acts and lives in the name of god! FUCK GOD!!! I want to burn alive every man and woman who says there is god! Because look! The man was burned in the name of god! There are wars between religions! so many deaths in the name of god!! FUCK JESUS! FUCK KRISHNA! FUCK Kuran!! FUCK BIBLE!! FUCK ALL THE BELIEVERS! I HATE YOU!!!

  • It's a very good film indeed, but the trailer is not really showing much. Watch the film and decided for yourself. Personally I'd say it's great! :D

  • This film is the best cult movie ever made! Love it a lot and made in Scotland where my ancestor, William BRAVEHEART Wallace was born there. There is a festvial inspired by that, and it happens every 1 time a year. #1 on my top cult movie list.

  • Of course this still happens in the UK today! Don't be naive. The Christian God is nearing the end of its time of influence and paganism is waiting to reassert its rightful place. If you are a Christian virgin who feels threatened by sex magick and thinks your precious savior and baby Jesus will save you from burning in the Wicker Man, don't go north of London! If you do, keep your eyes open. Not many have the courage to tell the truth but fredo1070 is doing good work.

  • @catfacecathead ive often wished there were still celts around... id join up

  • This movie is disturbing and those who practice this ritual will go to hell.

  • Anyway, I love the Wickerman!

  • And I'm NHS has it's good points, but why do so many people in Britian and Canada who are under it come to America for treatment of a life-threatening health problem? Os it because you have to wait weeks or even months to see a doctor after an appointment is made? And God forbid you have a serious problem because you may die while waiting to get in a doctor's office. I read a case in Ireland where a woman died of cancer because she couldn't get an appointment to read her Pap smear.

  • So, when the time to vote for independence came, the people in Northern Ireland didn't want to lose that protection, so they voted to stay British subfects. Why do you think so many Irish died and emigrated to America and other countries during the Potato Famine? Because the British wouldn't send them money to buy beef, which was priced at a cost that was too high for most Irish, especially for those living in the South.

  • Boy, you have a lot to say, don't you? Yes, Ulster voted to stay under the protection of the crown , but that was because in the 1800's the British removed many of the Irsh 'hethens' (Catholics) from Ulster and replaced them with Protestant British from Scotland (That's were the term Scotch-Irish comes from) and gave them the best jobs, sent their children to the best schools, etc., and to hell with the south.

  • Telling someone they hate someone of another race is not funny pmbyer. Our new President is of another race (black). At leaset we're progressive. So , are you Scotish or English? ( not that it really matters). I am fully aware that Britian is made up of those countries. By the way, when are you going to let ALL of Ireland be free?

  • I did not say race, you did. I said nation I was not referring to race in the slightest..

Also the Irish divide is simply that years and years ago. The mainly protestant section of Ulster (Northern Island) decided that they wanted to stay as part of the monarchy.

The republic of Ireland at a time still wanted to take over Ulster, yes, andthis continued for the longest time (IRA,UDA "the troubles" ect) until a ceasefire was called. It is still tense, but the violence is a lot less.

  • also, progressive? You say it's progressive? In all seriousness if America was progressive it would of loved the idea of National Healthcare

Sure the NHS has it's problems, but allowing innocent people to die without insurance in some lottery system is horrendous.

NHS in the u.k has it's links to the private sector (many NHS hospitals also provide private healthcare patients) so healthcare can be provided on a paying & insurance system, but it's not the same as having that as the only option.

  • If I was to take your quote about Ireland out of context, it may seem that you condone terrorisim?

  • Are you trying to promote sectarian violence? You ask "when are you going to let ALL of Ireland be free?" I guess you mean when will we British let Ireland be united? The answer is that its not our decision to make. The future of Northern Ireland should be decided by the people who actually live in Northern Ireland. It just so happens that the majority of people who in Northern Ireland vote for pro-British political parties. Their democratic choice is recognised by the Republic of Ireland too!

  • Most those who vote for pro-British parties are descendents of settlers from the 17th century have at least as much right to live there as you do to live in the US (or are you native?) . unfortunately we can't change history! But we can encourage understanding between the two communities today (maybe leading a unified Ireland).Ignorent comments like your's fuel hate (people still kill each other in NI). Still, u r 1000's of miles away so no one is going to attack u or your family. Just think!

  • These posts were in response to kittylass

  • Well, since many parts of Merry Old England are now majority Muslim - and London's school age population is only 17% British (Englsh, Welsh, Scottish and Irish) and London will soon be Londonstan, seems to me that the Irish vs British conflict in Northern Ireland is going to look rather silly.

Hope you folks like Sharia law.

  • "No one who has been sacrificed has ever complained afterwards"... he he he

  • Okay, okay. I'm sorry I called the British weirdos. You're not all that bad, after all you gave the world The Beattles. But I still want to know how incest is a 'wonderful old rural tradition.' Parents having sex with their own children is a tradition in England? In America, it's a crime. And thank you for the invitation to come to England for your next sacrifice (animal, hopefully), but I think I'll stay here in the good old U.S.A.

  • thanks overweight, redneck gun toting, middle eastern hating American for your wonderful generalisation of the British people.

Do I need to explain irony or did you get that?

  • Look who's generalization now pmbyer. I am not overweight, a redneck, nor do I hate Middle Eastern people. So just stay in England and try to get yourbad teeth fixed!!

  • ok I guess I do need to explain irony then.

  • Apology accepted, pmbyer.

  • What apology? All I stated was it was an ironic statement I made previously, which funnily enough, you did not get.

I made the broadest generalisation knowing that more than likley you would react in such a way possibly not even noticing the mmention of irony. See in a way I have just emphasised your own predjudices against an entire nation.

Also, I live in Scotland, Britain is made of 4 different areas (Northern Ireland,Wales,Scotland & England)

next time I hope you are not so narrow minded.

  • That last comment was directed at themightyscythe, by the way everyone.

  • And this is why we wanted and fought for our independence from you weirdos in the 1700's.

  • Am I deaf or is the sound not working?

  • I first saw this movie when I was five or six, thinking it was a super hero movie (I didn't know what Wicker was) Ever since I've had a fear of fire

  • I'm originally from the West Country and go back regulary and can confirm it is still practised very occasionally - it's covered up - last time I know of was 4/5 years ago.

  • haha it still happens in th uk wat a joke

    i like the song though

  • Yes this still happens in the UK today. Why do you think there are so few Christians left in England?

  • tis film is set in scotland though?

  • And a welsh legend born from AngleseY

  • Not originally...it was supposed to be set in Cornwall. And the song that they are singing at the end is what is known as an old English round, many of the costumes that the islanders are wearing at the end like the hobby horse for instance, are what you will often see Morris dancers wearing. As laughable as Morris dancing is now days it has it's roots in Paganism.

  • I don't think people, as a whole town, still sacrifice others. You always have freaks out there, but I'm not sure this is a common happening in the UK....actually...I'm pretty sure it doesn't...cause everyone in the rest of the world would know about it and be FREAKING out!

  • this is a good version of willow's song. where did you get it?

  • Yes, we do this ever Thursday. Just after tea.

  • I'm here ... "y"

  • If it does, let me know, so I can join in the fun!

  • where you being funny when you said it still happens in the uk today.....(cause i dont get it, am i stupid?)

  • "This still happens in the UK". Wow, you're a true idiot.

  • This still happens in the UK today? Erm, no it doesn't.
