  • Senator Arlin Specter.

    Now Rep. Peter DeFazio.

Those are my first and last names. :dahfuq:

  • According to the statistics available from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 3.4 Million job openings in September. Unemployment was 9%.

Comparing the two, for a US population of 307 Million, that means that there were approximately 27.5 million people unemployed and 3.4 million jobs available.

That's almost 9 people for every open job!

"Why don't they just get a job" is the most ignorant and uninformed defense that anybody could use, especially when they are "the job creators"...

  • What a dickhead. Him, the occupiers and those that like this video. You morons that believe what he is saying should get a refund on any education you got.

  • To the 18 dislikes - thanks for visiting and sorry you FOXtards can't stand the truth.

  • ...sorry, spell check is on steroids... The message below should say "lobbyists" not "linguists", although crocked Pete will take money from either or anyone else.

  • Hey, Pete, how is that fancy winery you bought in New Zealand with money from linguists?

  • We need to fixed all the loopholes in the capitalism structure. We need EARTH 2.0 Not capitalism, not democracy, but something entirely new. That is occupy. That is what they are discovering. Occupy is the first digital revolution that has externalized into the physical world. It is all upheaval from here. If the capitalists don't want to change and be happy...well too bad. WE MUST FORGIVE THEM EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT SORRY.

  • defazio is cool :D

  • I'm wondering if everyone that +1'd this video realizes that DeFazio is a progressive.

  • Peter DeFazio for president 2016

Elizabeth Warren for vice president 2016

Now that's a ticket I would heartily support! Well spoken, sir. Well spoken!

  • wow, a representative who I don't want to slowly choke the life out of with my own bare hands. I can't believe there are more than 20 of them.

  • wow... a lot of accounts with one person making a lot of comment...lol

  • wow, that was great.

  • Well said.

  • I want to thank this man. Thank you Mr DeFazio

  • Hey, congress. The jig is up. We know who you've been in bed with and what they stole and so does he Mr. DeFazio.

  • @artisanrox - Thanx. I'm very proud of my Congressman. I agree with all of you who think he'd make a great ticket with Bernie Sanders. Unfortunately, Bernie is running for re-election to the Senate, so the odds of him running for Prez are pretty damn slim.

  • This is the second time this year DeFazio has shown me a politician with a brain. He spoke to the ludicrous funding of USDA's program "wildlife services". I think I love this man, lol.

  • roger that, pete. wall street is lucky this isn't libya or egypt or syria. they'd be dealing with a lot more than drum circles, the bastards.

  • Wow, an honest man.

  • wow a moment of truth

  • ok, Democrats have De Fazio, Bernie Sanders, Kucinich, Feingold, Frank. Who do the GOPers have?

  • @eberkovich The GOP has Franklins, McKinleys, Madisons, and Clevelands. LOL

  • Have you considered running for President ?! You + Sanders (or Feingold or Kucinich) would get my vote !

  • his mouth is not in sync with the video Why?

  • This guy (together with Bernie Sanders) is so much WIN it fried my intertubes connections.

    Oregon, I am JEALOUS.

  • Wait wait wait wait......... i thought these guys were paid to lie. i am very confused!

  • Big fat truth sandwich for America. Time to fix this mess.

  • amazing!

  • Okay. So they aren't all bought. This man speaks the truth.

  • Wiki Occupy Wall Street . ORG

United We Stand ! Let's Build it Together ! Yes we are Us . . .

  • notice how he pays lip service to occupy wall street, but doesnt mention anything about campaign finance reform or citizens united. just saying, dont trust the democrats just because they say they're on your side.

  • @CraigBlaylock Sadly you can say that of both parties, these days.

  • @CraigBlaylock And for these purposes, I'm counting the Tea Party as part of the GOP -- they've never run an independent candidate that I'm aware of, so I don't buy for a minute they're not part of the Republicans.

  • @BoredomCorner I'm with you on both points, friend

  • Amazing...

  • "there's no hope..." *walkoff*

    EPIC EXIT.

  • I am so proud to have Peter as my congressman. WAY TO GO!!

  • @stevekindejr No one is talking about raising capital gains taxes to 100% because that is patently absurd. However, do you think investment will stop if it is raised to 50%? I think not.

  • Comment removed

  • @stevekindejr

Hey what do I know, I used to be a corp financial risk manager and derivatives trader, and I can tell you that much of what is invested in is actually destructive: unregulated derivatives (notional value is in the trillions, and not backed by assets...just waiting for another collapse and bailout) and commodity futures (driving up prices on metals, oil, cotton, and food), yet futures get a favorable tax rate. We can really do without a lot of what is called "investment".

  • I finally hear a politician who speaks the truth! thank you Rep DeFazio

  • Keep up the great work!!

  • 1:24 my political ju-jistu is supreme to your economic tae kwon do.

  • I voted for this man every chance I could get... Now I live in Arkansas. I sure hope, GADZ I HOPE, that the rest of his associates get their heads our of their asses...

  • Captions or transcription?? Would love ot know what he is saying and the auto transcript is too far off the mark.

  • Concerning the Occupy Movement, the reason it seems unorganised or unfocused, is because America has too many issues. I'm from Montana and our senator has betrayed us voting against the jobs bill... Thank you Rep. Defazio, it's good to know that some (if only a few) politicians can see us.

  • Thank YOU Peter... this is why I fight so damn hard to vote for you in OREGON... WE LOVE YOU, and your TRUTH into this circus we call Washington.

  • I agree on all points, save one. The Occupy Movement DOES have a clear agenda. The Occupy Movement will not stop until there is a permanent establishment in place that allows for every single citizen to have their voices heard in the democratic process. Rebuilding democracy from the ground up. Democracy 2.0

  • this guy has hit it right on the head! he has nailed the problem right on.

  • Nice speech, BUT does anyone have his VOTING RECORD on say: Stimulus bills etc..?

  • @ouluvme2 challenging the corp and bank looters is enough

  • @ouluvme2 Go ahead take a look, you won't be disappointed... he is seen here like he is consistently in Oregon. If he had the "look" he would make the most incredible president. Unfortunately society weighs heavily on the outside, instead of what is real.

  • Amazing speech!

  • I like a nice speech as much as the next person but all of these fuckers need an enema. All of their hands an asses are soft from lack of doing real work and only handling the corporate payoffs. We are the 99%

  • Note how the sides are forming the same as in any civil war? Not looking good and I seriously do not believe we will make it to Dec. 2012

  • Rep. DeFazio, keep up the great work! Please! We need you and the very few others like you to fight for us and with us. The American People will NOT forget!!

    Thank you.

  • I want to know who the 9 people are who disliked this? I'm guessing they're from Wall Street.

I'd vote for DeFazio for President!

  • @cangianom Sadly, they're probably just confused Republican voters.

  • @cangianom Rush, Bill, Glenn, Newt, Rick S., Rick P., Mitt, Herman, Michele, and 12 others? Idk.

  • DeFazio simply said it like it is. No candy coating, no smoke & mirrors.

  • I can't find the flag as awesome button.

  • DeFazio is one of the few congresspersons that is with the 99%

  • A congressman who gets what Occupy Wall Street is all about! WOW! I love your passionate calling out of Wall Street! AND naming names!

  • I like this guy! How do I support his place in Congress?!

  • I love it when they actually speak up. :)

  • Best fucking video ever.

  • Regulations on the market have a tendency to favor the fat cats with loopholes and screw over the little guy who doesn't have the money to pay for lobbyists, or to pay off the mainstream media, which shoves the left vs right dichotomy down our throats. The people being raped by Republican and Democrat elites, and now it's time for people to come to a consensus on how they're being raped without lumping those not holding their own position into either of those categories.

  • @hjpatterson Thank you. After days of trying to find a reason, a purpose or goal for these groups, beyond annoying everyone in the area, you are one of the few people who can lay out specific areas to be addressed. Thanks!

  • Well at least DeFazio can make a point and make suggestions for fixing the problem. The folks 'occupying' don't seem to have any point besides "I'm Angry and Things Stink".

  • @WIANStudios OccupyWallStreet has announced cogent demands: the others are democratically developing their own. All seem to include: a) corporations are not persons and shouldn't have free speech protection b) corporate money has hijacked our democracy c) corporations and the 1% of us who are rich should pay their fair share of taxes d) Wall Street is flourishing, after destroying the economy, while the rest of us are suffering.

  • thank god this mans alive! such truer words have never probubly been spoken in that microphone. wtf are we doing??? this man saying what soo many think.

  • it's not just young people, it's a fair cross section of this land. We are awake and we know the root of our problem. WE will not forgive, WE will not forget, WE will succeed. WE are everywhere.

  • Come on Oregonians!! Let us help lead this fight! Let the Oregon Constitutional Army be not only the loudest voice. But let us take real action. Unlike the hippy generation of the 60s. Resist! No more walmarts, no more banking, no more letting farmers be pushed around, no more taxes to pay for their wars! Stop everything that supports them. But supports us, the people.

  • get the money out dot com

  • Let the People rise up and the Government & the transnational corporations stand down.

  • GO PETE GO!!!!!!

  • Hell yeah, Rise up america! The people of the UK are with you.

  • Occupy USA!

  • defazio 2012 im proud to say i get to vote for this man!!!!!!! <3 youuuuu ps lots of union workers and employed state workers are at the occupation protests, so fox can stfu. i admire the gen x-ers and baby boomers that are testifying for our gen and saying "you know what im proud the younger generation started this movement and i am willing to take part" there were lots of geezers at occupy portland so STFU FOX.

  • The idiots have no morals. They could careless. The ONLY thing these turds care about is making cash. This how you use these turds, how you sell them the rope they will hang themselves with /watch?v=O0A6IjrhcvE&feature=player_detailpage#t=8438s

  • This was completely reasonable and not a waste of my time.

    I need a drink.

  • It's like all he's doing is telling the truth? I'm confused.

  • @datsunpost I thought we paid them to lie to us. WHERE IS MY MONEY GOING!?!?!?

  • @MyLoneImagination More shows about balls!

  • He need to run for president. I'll be 18 during the next election and I'd rather vote for this guy than anyone else in the country.

  • @OceanSilhouette That would require Obama to step down, not gonna happen.

  • You go Peter! Thanks!

  • 5 people here are CEOs and CDO traders.

  • fuckin right

  • Are our politicians focused? NO!!!!!!!! They can't agree on anything... people don't have jobs and they still can't decide on anything. Health care, immigration, etc. They fight amongst each other; all the time. They are the real kids. I think those banding together on wall street are showing the grownups how to act. So please stop with the they are not focused....that isn't correct to begin with...and who are there examples? YOU!!! People who report lies for a living? Your focused?

  • Dude should be running for President.

  • make sure he gets reelected

  • I feel so blessed to live in Oregon's fourth district. As bad as things are in this country, we have Peter DeFazio!

  • I grew up in this district and SHIT!! do I miss this guy. OREGON KNOWS! if you Wana argue, fine.. I'll listen. But I won't believe it for a second.

  • AWESOME!¡ Maybe him, Nader & Kucinich put a campaign together?!¡¿

  • thank you for the truth.

  • I wanna move to his district.

  • I like this guy!

  • incredibly well said, nice to see we have some understanding in washington. but remember this cannot become the democrats tea party, no party affiliations at all. every single representative and senator in washington is the problem

  • Does he by any chance run for president? :D

  • Speak it, DeFaz!

  • Amen.

  • Keep it up, DeFazio. That's a real American, fighting for those in need.

  • A true Cascadian hero!

  • Thank you for speaking the truth. We need more representatives like you.

  • I noticed DeFazio about a month or so ago, when he spoke on another topic. I liked what he had to say then; and, after hearing his words in this video, I like him even MORE. Well said, sir.

  • speaking the truth is what i thought was the "american way."

    thank you mr. defazio.

  • Isn't amazing that there are still a few politicians in DC who will speak truth to power without fear. I'm proud that Pete DeFazio represents Oregon and by extension, the whole country. Give em' Hell!!

  • This is a new type of movement, one that calls for total restructuring of our country. I was at a GA meeting today and I listened to a few people talking about voting being our biggest weapon. That's a real nice thought and all but this is only one of many grand illusions our government sold us on to make us feel like we are in control.

We need to start fresh. We need to educate the masses on how our government is supposed to work. Teach our peers and children to treat this planet with respect

  • He mentions that we are not focused and I assume he means we haven't made any real demands for change. First off, that list is waaaaayyyyy to long, as the man says, "We need a new DECK." Second, there's a reason demands haven't been made, why would we want Corporate America to know what we are going to do next. Why would we want the media to have anything to manipulate? It is time to step up for our futures, "Be the Change we see in the world!"

  • I love what Rep. Defazio says here. 5 minutes of truth! We must do these things for the sake of mankind! We will see how far we've come whether we are prepared for it or not. If we continue to allow the 1% to choose our futures for us that future will end slowly and painfully.

One point that I think needs clarification though....

  • I love political Giants and this guy has become one of them..."Favorites"....

  • One clap...... Ron Paul?

  • RUN FOR PRESIDENT

  • So happy he's from my state.

  • I just love this guy. Thank you, Faz. DeFazio calls it the "American Awakening" not bad. I just love this guy. (another idea - American Autumn)

  • thank you!

  • Would you like some mayo with your knuckles shill.

  • DeFazio is a nut! Lol. Good for him for getting that off his chest. Quite delusional, but probably quite therapeutic.

  • @jahmatic1979 Are you some kind of Tea baggin moron.

  • @nicopono1 - are you some sort of socialist swine

  • the truth will be known to all. and yes, the truth will set us free!

  • Can we clone Rep. DeFazio?

  • I just wish and hope your words do not fall on deaf ears.

  • DeFazio for president!

  • I love Pete DeFazio

  • Where are the other representatives of the people saying things that are based on facts and verifiable evidence.

"There's been this amazing, political jiu-jitsu where somehow the republicans, aided by the Koch brothers who also subsidize the Tea Party, have changed the narrative."

    Jiu-jitsu, what can't it do?
