@ChannelForViewers Teams don't trade for the hell of trading. Owners have one goal: to make their team better. For some reason the Celtics thought this would make the team better.

Teams makes trades to turn "on the edge teams" into championship teams (EX: Rasheed to Detroit, KG to Boston, Gasol to Lakers) or to clear salary space and save money to have more flexibility for the future (most lower ranked teams do this to sign free agents.)

I highly doubt that would happen... He would play for 500k/year if need be.. But im not him, and if he had a choice in the matter he would have stayed no matter how much he was making.

shaq is a cencer to every team he has been on since he won a title with Heat in 2006.. 2007 Shaq didn't want to play cuz he was injured, heat got in 1st round.. 2008 got with Suns.. the team that was so successful, got out in first round... 2009.. shaq's full season with suns, didn't make playoffs (unbelievable)... 2010 with Cavs... made the team worse that what it was in 2009(conference finals).. 2011... Shaq in playoffs means Celtics done in 2nd round.. No Perkins... Shaq should retire

So Perkins refused a contract extension that Doc Rivers offered him? Perkins really should have stayed with the Celtics. Now the big boys (Heat, Lakers, Magic) are gonna slice up the paint more easily than before. Perkins defense was the reason the Celtics are still standing till this day. Sad to see him go.
