Bishop Patterson was my Aunt Vestal's (Goodman) favorite tv minister! She watched him every Sunday afternoon & ordered cassette tapes of every service. I'm sure they are both having a wonderful time together!
Memphis experienced a GIANT in the Gospel. We thought that he would live for a much longer time. There was a certain atmosphere in Memphis during the tenure of Bishop GE Patterson. I grew up under his Ministry both directly and indirectly. I remember leaving church feeling invigorated every Sunday and Tuesday Night. The Church of God in Christ is not the same. We miss Bishop Patterson.

Young people can be used of God (I started young) but youthful energy is no substitute for the mature men of God who are rooted grounded and settled, something very few young people possess. THe comment was that we need to influence the young people. To say otherwise to say children don't need a parent because they have more energy they can be in charge!

I rebuke that mindset that MaryMary thoughts were wrong in creating that song. Bishop Patterson stood for winning souls to Christ, and we as christians forget that as christians we must do the same. We are so selfish that we disrespect those that are out trying. Paul went out and did the same for the Gentiles, so when you rebuke the new you disrespect your old. Timothy was about 30 yrs old when Apostle Paul wrote to him saying what it is written in 1st Timothy 4.11-16. Titus was about 30 yrs old when he was preaching the gospel and teaching the Lord's teaching. I won't tell about Sanson, David, Gideon, the old and the young prophet. There are MILLIONS of people waiting, thirsty and angry for the gospel.

She is a Godly example to me and still encourages me today, She serves in a lot of capacities at Temple of Deliverance.

And i always felt it was me who was singing and asking God to take me back. when one nite, as i was singing it in my head, god talked to me, and told me. So heartfelt. Bishop Patterson was so Real. His life spoke for itself. Sadly missed but not forgotten. A True Man of God. The anointing is still felt. Thank you God for sharing Him with us.
When I was incarcerated in Ct. I wrote for a DVD for our library. Bishop wrote back, sent a prayer hankerchief as well as the DVD. He will be greatly missed. One of a kind for God. Holiness or Hell he didn't cut corners.
God rest your soul Bishop Patterson. When I was at the lowest point in my life; I wrote you a letter, and you wrote me back. You were a TRUE man of GOD! I will never forget you. God be with you, until we meet again.

This brings back so many memories of being in TN-4th when he was our Bishop. The glory of God was so great. This is where we learned most of the older songs of the church. God knows we miss him.........
I'm glad that I was there active and loving Temple of Deliverance. I had to move but being a member of this church taught me how to discern those who are of God and to sift through a lot of tradition and I must say that I have been blessed. I'm better for knowing he and First Lady Patterson.
Oh my goodness...I am teary all over again...I miss my Beloved Bishop Patterson so much..I am a close friend of his leading Miss'y Otey...used to visit her in the 1980s and see Bishop right here in the green & gold sanctuary...he always remembered me on the piano...I miss him so...God Rest his soul and keep his widow...

I so admire this great man of God Bishop Patterson. I grew up Baptist and later became Apostolic. I have enjoyed listening to him sing and preach.

This song has been on my heart and in my head for sooo long.. i mean weeks. And i always felt it was me who was singing and asking God to take me back. when one nite, as i was singing it in my head, god talked to me, and told me. He's been the one singing it to me. cuz he never left me. it was me who left him. the lord said, ill never leave you, nor forsake you.

The guy that's on the organ is one of the former musicians for TOD, Mance Atychan. TOD was the first church to get that kind of organ.

They finally got rid of it. That organ had been there since Bishop Patterson opened that church. They replaced it sometime a couple of years ago.

When I was incarcerated in Ct. I wrote for a DVD for our library. Bishop wrote back, sent a prayer hankerchief as well as the DVD. He will be greatly missed. One of a kind for God. Holiness or Hell he didn't cut corners.

This brings back so many memories of being in TN-4th when he was our Bishop. The glory of God was so great. This is where we learned most of the older songs of the church. God knows we miss him.........

I'm glad that I was there active and loving Temple of Deliverance. I had to move but being a member of this church taught me how to discern those who are of God and to sift through a lot of tradition and I must say that I have been blessed. I'm better for knowing he and First Lady Patterson.

Oh my goodness...I am teary all over again...I miss my Beloved Bishop Patterson so much..I am a close friend of his leading Miss'y Otey...used to visit her in the 1980s and see Bishop right here in the green & gold sanctuary...he always remembered me on the piano...I miss him so...God Rest his soul and keep his widow...
