Yes I am aware that they were originally just one game. I just like the overall vibe of Sonic 3 better, plus the gumball machine bonus levels were better than the ones in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. MJ's mini boss theme ftw.

They have the same engine, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3&Knuckles exists, plus the fact the Sonic&Knuckles isn't titled "Sonic the Hedgehog 4", so isn't Sonic the Hedgehog 3&Knuckle REALLY Sonic the Hedgehog 3?

I actually like the extra life and invincibility music in this one. Kicks the hell out of S3&K. I forget what Super Sonic sounds like on this, but I bet it's better too. At least different.

All S3&K has over this is Hyper Sonic, Super Tails, Hyper Knuckles, the ability to even play as Knuckles. Extended story and levels selection, and Tails in S&K stages. Which outweighs the worse music.

The whole tone of Sonic 3 is just awesome - it's so funky and I think it was meant to feel like being in a music video with the Michael Jackson influences, fisheye bonus stages, the choreographed way Sonic moves like doing a flip when he jumps on a springboard... So good.

You should've gotten Sonic Mega Collection for Gamecube and it would've worked fine on the Wii as long as you don't mind using a Gamecube Controller. (Note: I might've used the Wireless Gamecube Controller + Battery Recharger.)
