i got a question for you xerxes, with 5th gen battling now more common and popular than ever, are you going to use the same 4th gen team as you would in 5th gen or do you plan to change it around? there are some pretty badass pokemon in 5th gen..eelektross being one of them...it can be a special attacker, a physical attack and ever a great staller since it has really good bulky and an awesome mono typing and ability

Ok a question for you is this team a better team with a lefties bliss? because I feel like the chople berry was a little bit too gimicky and didnt even get used in the close matches

@rockleeownsu Quite possibly. My original expectation however was that teams are going to have one good answer to Bliss, and Chople-Counter gives Bliss an option to beat their Bliss answer 1 on 1. I didn't think it would be SO rare.

Under that circumstance, Bliss is home free to wallstall the rest of his team due to the mixtier nature. I refuse to believe that this is wrong or faulty logic, it just rarely occurred in action and I'm stunned it didn't happen more. No fighting types vs Bliss???

well wilechase and blakblastoise just kinda had to eat theyre work with this series. both of them saying your not good or not as good as you used to be, because you dont play alot or whatever. you came out undefeated with this team and got first place in the torny. even if you did face all the people you were supposed to you im sure you would have done great against them by either winnig or having very close matches. congrats xerxes your a beast!

@JasonKingCon I countered a +2 Scizor Superpower... but aside from that, I'm not sure the Chople-counter ever played a role. I know I took a focus blast once and facepalmed, but it was more of a security blanket that they didn't know about. An ace in the hole I never got to play, and lost lefties for it.

I still don't believe its a BAD concept, I'm stunned how little it came to play in 15 or whatever games this was. Maybe it needs more games, or only in a non-mixtier format.

That freeze saved a lot of effort for you. It sucks that you had to play the way you did, and it blows that you couldn't watch these moves on your own, and were basically delegating your attacks through GoldRules2. The sucky loss of Dos basically screwed a lot of your chances.

Like you said "Luck Favours the Bold" and you got unlucky. Way to pull it out in the end, basically due to Life Orb damage. Awesome tournament, man.

Yeah :D I've never been frozen like that before, but I've had my fair share of hax. I once got confused with my curse/ingrain ferrothorn, hit myself 4 turns in a row, finally broke free of confusion and missed, only to get confused again and hit myself for another two turns. It's not quite 10 turns of freeze, but it did cause some facepalming :P

I know he just replied otherwise, but with a 3hko vs my recovery move, I don't really care about para, and should he NEED to rest, that just lets me restore back to full or get him down into counter-kill range.... so what does he do?

@mtgxerxes Yeah, without the freeze your win condition would have been counter (if he did have rest), and considering how hard his body slam hit you probably would have been able to land a counter for 400-500 or so damage on him. The fight was in your favour. Ravenn could have won if he managed to land a body slam, paralyze you and then you got para haxxed on the following turn, but I think that's the only situation in which he could have won.

Personally, I thoguht this was an amazing match. To me, pokemon has 4 factors, Luck, Skill, Prediction, and Fun, and honestly, the Fun factor in this match seemed to sky rocket. Props to both Xerxes and Ravenn for a fantastic game.

cool series. when you were in with blaziken against snorlax i was TOTALLY thinking "THUNDER PUNCH THUNDER PUNCH" but alas.... it was too easy to read. when you were in with zapdos against the blaziken, i definitely thought roosting was the best play. but the ending was pretty hilarious so i'm glad it worked out this way.

I could see how the recording gave you a bit of trouble keeping up with the narration, since you usually take your time to talk about everything you're thinking about (during the match and going over it while recording the video, which is what I love about your battles).

Personally I think that was an epic finale, and though pretty inconvenient in how it had to end up being played (via chat, without you even seeing the battle in front of you), you pulled through Xerxes! Keep it up man.

I ran a calc, and it looks like he had a small chance to KO Zapdos with a Waterfall. If he's the Bulky DD Smogon set (Adamant with 76 Atk EVs), and assuming you are 192 HP/ 62 Def / 252 Spe Timid Zapdos, then Waterfall does 259-306 damage when you had 301 HP.

Plus, he also has the chance of a flinch or a crit (about 26% chance), which would almost ensure that he wins the game. Maybe he should have gone for it. A 26-30% chance to win the game instantly ain't bad.
