Wow this never happened at Glastonbury, everyone that was on drugs or too drunk where still listening to music in tents and shangi la till about 6 in the morn where it would be light again!
i swear i wouldnt care if people started to beat me up in mass amounts if someone dragged my tent to burn it while im in it, i will not hesitate in biting your juglar vein this is so wrong, in the us they would just stop the festival all together like they did with woodstock

my mate elliott died that year at Reading after a fire exploded and burnt him and ruptured his kidney. He went to hospital with serious burns but they took about an hour to get him there after the call was made. He died a couple of days later after internal bleeding. The burns to the left side of his body were so severe the doctors advised his parents not to look at his body. It's a shame these things happen. I'm all for having fun but when darkness descends on Reading festival it is just chaos.
Sunday night at reading is stupid! i went this year (2009) in purple and the fires were CRAZY! a group of ppl started setting fire to tents right next to mine and i had to quickly pack mine up and move before it got burned!was watching my back the whole time its no fun.if this keeps just getting worse every year then pretty soon there will be no more reading. I also saw several fights but no one wanted to come help stop it. Its lethal
I completely agree dude! i went that year too. I was in purple. We got into a fight because we politely asked the people next to us to put their fire out cos it causes all that havoc and they just flung punches at us and trashed our tents.....im not going again after that!!
anyone who was involved in the 'riots' in '08 or '09 how about in 2010 you throw yourselves on a fire! fucking dick heads stop ruining other peoples fun and get the fuck out of reading. it's people like you that will be the downfall of an awesome festival.......so grow up or fuck off
I remember this last year. Was crazy!! Was fire everywhere and spreaded really quickly. Luckily where I camped the tent next to me which was on fire at this point flew up in the air cos some prat put 3 gas canisters in it and light the fucking thing up. xD
i remember the one in 05. "TROLLYYYY, TROLLYYYY, TROLLY TROLLY TROLLY..."
If they genuinely wanted to stop the rioting then they should keep music running later. ending it at 12 and making a load of rowdy drunk people go back to the campsite with nothing to do is asking for trouble to be honest.
I have to say, a great deal of these kids rioting just follow the crowd. It's the people in their early 20's who I think probably instigate it all. By the way, I am 16, 2008 was my first reading, and I went after just collecting my GCSE's. But rioting is disgraceful, especially all that apparent trying to burn people's tents down when they were still in them. Surely the underlying reason to go to attend music festival is the music, not rioting.
This year was my 4th Reading Festival and I am now 19 and I think you will find it is literally only the 16 and 17 year old people who do this and as you get (albeit slightly) older you realise it is really stupid. You just think "Been there done that, now time to defend my tent!"
green was as bad as this, fuckin wrecked the next mornin.
The fire volunteers were so shite! they did what they could but they had nothing more than a little spray canister of water, and there were so few as well.
thos riots were so annoying one of the bigger fires was right next to my tent and i had to stay up all night so that some dicks wouldnt throw my tent in the fire. absolute nob'eads
which campsite was thisd cos things were pretty wild in green on the last night but which one was that cos that shits just fucking mental man ! also come on guys readings there too have a fucking great weekend no doubt about it and if you wanna burn your tent go ahead but don'[t fucking burn the toilets and other peoples shit because thats out of order if you wanna burn your stuff fair play but keep everyone else out of it !
yeah green was FUCKED UP. I ended up camped rite next to the toilets with my tent half - sticking out onto the path courtesy of my dumbarse mates who were supposed to get a good spot. =)
I found, there seems to be a lot of people going round in big groups, 'angry mobs', up for a laugh, just being friendly, and there's a minority that just seem to really think what's fun is destroying everything. More security presence, picking these people out, would stop a lot of trouble I think. Its probably people that have snuck in and aren't there for the music at all. All in all I had a great weekend anyway :D
My cousin pleaded with the mob not to put her stuff on the fire and they laughed. I was so angry I was really close to pushing one of them onto it. Fucking wankers. You give the rest of us a bad name. What is it going to take before someone decides to do something. Me and my mate had to go round putting out tent fires that we were asked to, if that's such a crime......then fuck you.
to all the mother fucking idiots who think this is clever. I was there when this happened at the bottom of orange camp 2008. The next morning no one could have a shower because some retards with nothing better to do had killed the generator and water supply.
Oh yeah they also thought it would be funny to set our friends tent alight - whilst they were alseep inside it.
If it means getting involved in sad pathetic acts like this, and not enjoying the music plus every other reason the festival is there for, then you're very sad and deluded.
Yeh that's what spoils Reading, all the stupid morons who think it's fun to burn everything on the last night.I've been for the last 3 years and decide that this year we wouldn't stay on sunday night after the kids next to us burnt everything + nearly our tent in 2007!It ruins a great weekend....This year we left after the last bands and stayed at a friends house and didn't have to cope with the carnage! Sunday night @ Reading sucks!
these fires were actually insane.. my campsite in Green 2 G2 got destroyed including my tent being thrown in but was totally worth it .. our beer tower got thrown in tho which was sad!!! some idiot tho threw a fire extinguisher on the bloody bombfire though my mate had to kick it off, just wanted to say nice one who ever did that coulda killed people !!! part from that reading 08 was insane well done =]
thats fucking hilarious, im the guy that walks in ur way about 33 seconds in! thats hilarious! check my vids to prove! lol what an awesome festival tho!
Fuckin funny isn't it? Did anyone get them adverts shown on mainstage, I actually found the chavs on the roundabout one piss funny... still don't get the reference to riots :S
i work on site infastructure at reading so I'm there for about 5 weeks building it, and it's so frustrating to see a (perhaps large) minority of idiots destroying what you build and ruining it for people who go to enjoy music and beer and the general festival experience. It's a collection of middle class rich kids who are way from mummy and daddy for a few days and can't figure out what to do with themselves.
Camped over the bridge in the white zone..Much safer & mean't I didn't have to club anyone.
Been doing Reading since the early 90s & this riot $hit is totally against what Reading is all about. I kind of wanna get the old skool festival goes together for next year and find these idiots & bit the crap out of them.. Let em try and start a fire with broken fingers..
Great Festival though.. The Line-up was brilliant..
A load of us managed to get some tickets and get there for our first reading. Got caught up in all the madness ended up getting one of our tents destroyed and spend the rest of the night fighting people off our other tent.
Our first reading would turn out to be absolute carnage.
not been able to pick it up and throw it on i imagine.
not defending the tent burning i was working as a green messenger and had to help clean up afterwards, but i think even these muppets may have noticed there was someone in a tent when they tried to pick it up.
yeah we didn't get that bad this year we camped in orange heard it all, just stayed up all night toasting marshmallows just incase some twats came and nicked our stuff or started a massive fire.
personally i think there was toomany people there this year, the same as last year they need to stop selling toomany tickets.
people starting these fires are stupid and selfish, they wouldn't like it if i went and burnt their stuff would they ? or they got scrapnel in em just selfish people....
I have no idea why these idiots decide to do this. Its not just 'fun' a friend of mine saw a guys face literally melting as he caught fire after throwing a gas canister on his fire. Why do people have to do this year after year? What is so fun about setting shit on fire?
I will never understand why if they dont want all the fires and so on they should have DJ sets in the tents and main stage still like 2 or 3am. that would be awesome. all the fire and stuff is lame
Went to R for the first time last year, stayed in Purple. Ended up packing at 2am because of twats next to us setting their tents and gazebo's on fire as they were leaving etc.
This year stayed in orange. Could hear the toilets being dismantled and drumming but nothing worse than that, thought this year had been really good! Whoever stuck up the poster 'RIOT AT 1AM' by the Orange Toilets that I was told about in the morning should have their heads checked. Someone should have taken it down too.
So glad i was camped in Red. I didn't hear or see any of this but heard about it from others. I have absolutely no idea why people feel the need to resort to utter mindless idiocy like this. At the end of the day these people will only have themselves to blame when eventually the festival is cancelled all together!
I fully agree I've been going to Reading for 5 years now.. and this year's Sunday Night was Ridiculous.. It seems that yellow was filled with 15 year old kids away from there parents for the first time with a lighter.. It seems people show up on Sunday just to riot and I dont see the point.
i slept through all the "riots" this year :) ..me thinks last years were worse but i dunno, maybe i was just in the wrong bit..or should that be the right bit lol. does anyone know of a guy called alex that stayed in yellow 2. was wearing a red checked shirt on the friday and had his lip pierced and a wicked tattoo on his forearm..i wanna find him and say thanks for looking after me at rage on fri. if anyone can help..msg me plz :) danke schon x
the indigo fire was stupid, bunch of twats dragging random ppls tents on the fire with 1 security guard trying to stop them, fuckers. good footage but whats with the edit? song choice and slow motion, its like ur trying to make it look 'cool' reue!!
I have the unedited footage on here as well. The editing was done for added impact and seems to have worked in gaining additional media coverage, which was my intention all along: To have as many people as possible see the stuff that goes on at the festival on Sunday night and hopefully dislodge some of the comments that it's all "Just people have a good time" that some news reports comment. There's nothing 'cool' about it.
this reading seemed loads less mental for me this year, last year was crazy, i cant believe i missed this at reading 2008, naturally it was fucking well good anyway but jesuss, well done to you.
To POPAW my language is only foul because of idiots like you i am so outraged at how people turn into animals after 4 days camping they should do a registration scheme like glasto and make it for over 25s we dont shit in the gazebos outside our tents !!
I was in orange camp and it got so bad we packed up and left but walked through yellow on our way out and my god it was so fucked up! There are so many retards out there who ruined it for everyone else! It was actually just ridiculous. Everywhere was just a warzone. If i ever camp again at it i heard white is quiet! So ill be going there!
well i done the security at reading this year was in indigo camp n if ya think 2 security with fire extinguishers would ave made any difference ure off ure head 2 ppl against a crowd of over a 100 doesnt work out trust me also it might help if the police actually done something rather than jus fuck off at 12 n leave us tae dae it all 4 the rest of the night
the security's not short staffed, it's just inappropriately deployed. they're more interested in protecting their revenue than their fans, hence the perimeter having so much security they're tripping over each other, & the campsite having a couple of what are essentially untrained volunteers in a tower deciding when and where police need deploying. i guaran-fuckin-tee you that if they'd placed even 2 security people with fire extinguishers to each toilet block, no-one would have set fire to them
Fuck, I was signed in on my sister's account. Those two comments below by 'chavette2be' was me.
It's all a bit disrespectful really. I mean, people have to clear up that mess as well. Pfft, I'll never get into rioting, nor will I get into bottling bands that I don't like. although I didn't see as many bands get bottled this year. Bring me the hair straightners and plain white t's was all I saw, and there was security in the crowd during pwt's stopping people bottling the band.
To be honest I don't mind doing it that way when people act like this, putting other people's lives at risk and ruining their property. I don't think they should raise the age limit, because I'm only nearly 16 and I don't riot (& I already bought my ticket for next year yesterday). Better/more secuity and not being so hesitant to arrest or throw people out of the festival would be a better way of dealing with it. Not all the young people riot, and the older people do it as well sometimes.
Holy shit, that's a bit over the top. There's a borderline between having fun and being a fucking dumbass. The first year anyone in my family went it was my mum and my sister camping on brown (which is now indigo) in 2006 and on Sunday night they got so scared they packed up their stuff at 2am, left the tent and slept in the station for the rest of the night. Now we camp in white and sleep in a hotel after then bands on Sunday.
I live in Reading so don't go on the animal Zoo's oh no I meant camp-sites sorry, a teenager is just as bad usually anyway.
The Manics set sums up must people who go to the festival, not that any of you fucks watched that as generic indie band were playing on the other stage I'd imagine.
I have insider information that Mean Fiddler are thinking of raising the age limit to 18 to get in, oh how I'd be happy and laugh if that happened. No more 14 year old girl fucks ruining things yay. :-D
TheConspiracyofSeeds said: 'I have insider information that Mean Fiddler are thinking of raising the age limit to 18 to get in, oh how I'd be happy and laugh if that happened. No more 14 year old girl fucks ruining things yay. :-D' I thought i'd let him know that he's talking bollocks x
Fucking hell, we had exactly the same bonfire in our campsite (purple f/g) and we had no police. In fact we had to wait an hour for security to show up.
How the fuck can anyone think that to be appropriate behaviour at any time?
Would they appreciate it if I waltzed into their house pissed as fuck and gurning my tits off on MDMA, then attempt to stick my hand up their mum's skirt, have a piss in their bin, call their dad a faggot and round it off by shitting in the middle of their living room?
I was at Reading this year and the amount of mindless twats that were in attendance astounded me.
Why the fuck did the majority of people that were there think it's acceptable to act like animals?
Everyone seemed to focus more on getting absolutely wasted and trash shit than going for the music.
I noticed a huge amount of kids who probably didn't pay a fucking penny to be there who thought it would be hilarious to fuck everyone else's weekend up.
I worked as CAT (campsite assistant) on last night at Reading. The campsites are run by mainly volunteers and low paid, low-skilled workers, which is fine during the festival in general... but the last night requires trained professionals. Not security (ineffective), but a POLICE presence in every campsite. Unfortunately, I fear it will take a serious injury/death to occur before the organisers are likely to take any action, as is the case with exploding gas canisters.
serious injury did happen,i work for festival medical services, someone was brought in on Sunday night with really badly burns, someone set fire to his tent whilst he was sleeping inside. stuff like this should be treated as a serious criminal offense and anyone caught doing this should be charged
I thought I would reply to this, as I am an idiot and pressed thumb down instead of up... (sorry!)
I agree. Half of my friends left early because they were so scared, if its such a good time then why are people too scared to sleep in their tents, and so therefore have to leave early...?
banging drums and making semi big fires = cool good fun
but blowin shit up, gettin the police involved and burning ppls tents is a bit out of order in my opinion, its all drunken laughs but somtimes it's too much.
fuck me reading was fun tho nd i didnt destroy shit like this
i agree that throwing other peoples tents and possession on the fire was wrong, but the security didn't do anything to help the situation all night they were stopping anything people were doing in crowds, like drumming on bins as soon as people got together they would come over and stop us, this sort of thing leads to the riots seen above, the security need to learn how to talk to people instead of trying to act all hard man which just aggravates people.
reading 08 was fuking amazing....rage were the absolute bollocks but all the 16 year old twats did piss me off!! and sunday night did ruin it a bit for me....im sorry but having lit gas cansisters thrown and explode literaly feet from your tent aint my idea of fun, green campsite was crazy!
yes, people were hurt. i heard 26 were brutally murdered following 5 tents being sprayed with police gunfire! please note i cannot guarantee the legitamacy of this information.
I dont see the point of this kind of moronic shit. If i got to a festival i wanna go to listen to the bands and have a laugh with friends not to have to put up with brain deads like this who just ruin it. I actually wonder how idiots like this can get the money to go. Even shelf stacking requires brain cells.
These videos should be used to prosecute the mindless twats !!But its not only the posh twats that do it i was at leeds and orange camp was virtually burnt to the ground by chav scum . I am seriously considering not going next year and going to T or V that would mean a 300 mile trip intead of a 40 mile one,id rather do that than mix with cunts like this
wel, i was just giving my opinion...yes people could of been hurt, but as far as im aware, they wernt. however if they were, im sure i would have a different view on the matter
I don't think riots should be acceptable djbunny6001. They may be worse at Leeds and you may think its people having a laugh - but its not just that. You can 'have a laugh' without causing trouble. Okay, maybe not for some people. But it doesnt make things right. Innocent people could have been really hurt - read the Reading newspaper.
I think both sides are to blame; people should be less immature and stupid and there should be more security.
i heard that someone's tent and stuff got stolen and thrown on there it's bang out of order. these people responsible ought to be lined up and shot on mainstage at the start of next year's festival as an example to everyone.
This was right behind tower Y2? I was camped right by the massive crossroads where all the shit seemed to go down, and I have to say, from what i saw, the "security" were being pricks and just trying to fight with anyone... kinda studpid really seeing a few thousand strong crowd surrounded them, it was inevitable!
it was purely festival rebublics fault for employing the pikeyiest chavs from glasgow who has no reasoning skills etc just the ability to shout and push , we eventually beat them at their own game hahah, better luck next year....( Due to social upheaval we have been advised to let **** out of the prison camp.) they were the best words to come out of the sweaties mouth and the only ones we understood lol
it is purely because of the arsehole security guards employed to monitor the festival, they were all uber aggresive little sterioded up arses from glasgow who no 1 could understand and all they wanted was to fight , they were power crazy and we started the riots in yellow c to free my mate who was wrongly imprisoned in the guard tower in yellow and they wouldn't give him water, i think this is against basic human rights. they deserved everything they got esp 589 you fat prick . i hope u readthis
oh dear... i camped in green and there were quite a few fires and explosions from gas canisters going off all night! and a fire almost as big as that right next to our tent, but it soon got put out! and the toilets got trashed also... pretty scary night but managed to survive it wooo!
i was in yellow camp for the whole weekend and didnt hear this or about it at all, what they need is tear gas and tazers to take down filthy pikey drunks, i was there during the second evenings yellow camps happy mob mobile rave / musical statues, but some people are just dick heads :D
well done for this vid...it does highlight the real problems at reading this year....we all have a lot to work on.
the people are not to blame...it was the organisers... festival republic keep us locked up while queing for tickets.cancelations.poorly trained and not enuf staff.i camped in yellow this year and i will continure to do so becasue i feel it is an issue to be addressed not shunned away.croud control is not one of festival republic's strong points. carling wouldent let this happen.
What? The people are to blame. If kids didnt act like morons on the last night there would be no problem. No festival organiser should feel the need to babysit its customers. I think you need to do a bit of research on Festival Republic too and other festivals they have a part in.
'Carling wouldent let this happen'. Haha how funny is that! Festival Republic is just a new name for Mean Fiddler who have always organised the festival, Carling just branded it. Ironically, most of the trouble is down to kids who cant handle alcohol, and Carlings continued branding of the festival which was essentially mass advertising of alcohol to a huge under 18 crowd.
Watching that... I really don't think I want to be a part of Reading Festival any more.
Whoever said it was worse in 2000; open your eyes. I was there too and yes, there were fires and the portaloos were burned down, but nothing on the scale of this year.
Complete idiots and by posting on here you are just giving them kudos they don't deserve. Reading is about the music not the rioting- anyone who thinks differently should really go back to nursery.
I posted this here to counter all the people who claim its 'not really that bad' or that it's just a few people having a good time. I want people to see the extent of some of the damage and the very real danger caused by all these explosions so close to the crowds.
I ve been going to Reading Festival since 2000, and it was a lot worse back then, yeah its fun, its Sunday always been one of those things distroy everything. Download 2006 worse insane, always i think it was Reading 2002 a donut stall had to be closed as the bloke who was selling donuts look liked Hulk Hogan.
Sunday at Reading - the kids go wild...don't take a "hoff" cut out, it will burn, I've seen it happen - I don't go anymore because I live overseas, but hey, good memories...PS they're not angry, just having a laugh
I had fun at reading but i didnt see anyting on this scale, i was in red camp, to be honest im glad i was, i think its a bit outrageous to take ppls tents with all their stuff in it n set fire to it.. how wud they like it if they had all their posessions they had burnt. By all means have a fun time but setting stuff on fire is a bit extreme
You cant just blame it on middle class kids, that too start with is a load of bolocks and people who say that are quite simply classist dicks. Secondly this happens all the time at readng and should be, by now, a well kown fact that on sunday night the mob will appear. This year as also proably better than last year in the sense there wernt as many fires, explosions or injuries. One question did you make this video? if so isnt it bit ironic your preaching agaist it? what were you doing there?
you would have done exactly the same thing had the security been that aggressive to you , unless you were there i dont see how you can justify these comments
I was there you fucking public school eductaed wanker, why dont you go and overdose on some pills ? Seriously, why can't you over privileged dicks go and organise your own toff, fox hunting, monachy loving festival and spend the last night having incestuous sex and setting each other on fire instead of wrecking our festival.
Wow this never happened at Glastonbury, everyone that was on drugs or too drunk where still listening to music in tents and shangi la till about 6 in the morn where it would be light again!

Green was fucked up this year, everyone was destroying that big recycling sign, and the toilets. I've never seen security so mad.

Wow! Why have you got thumbs down?
I think a lot of people are missing the point of festivals. Sad nob heads who do this kind of stuff.

Sunday night @ Reading sucks!
shonagh7 3 years ago 2
these fires were actually insane.. my campsite in Green 2 G2 got destroyed including my tent being thrown in but was totally worth it .. our beer tower got thrown in tho which was sad!!! some idiot tho threw a fire extinguisher on the bloody bombfire though my mate had to kick it off, just wanted to say nice one who ever did that coulda killed people !!! part from that reading 08 was insane well done =]

i work on site infastructure at reading so I'm there for about 5 weeks building it, and it's so frustrating to see a (perhaps large) minority of idiots destroying what you build and ruining it for people who go to enjoy music and beer and the general festival experience. It's a collection of middle class rich kids who are way from mummy and daddy for a few days and can't figure out what to do with themselves.
feeder were great, shame slipknot couldn't play

Camped over the bridge in the white zone..Much safer & mean't I didn't have to club anyone.
Been doing Reading since the early 90s & this riot $hit is totally against what Reading is all about. I kind of wanna get the old skool festival goes together for next year and find these idiots & bit the crap out of them.. Let em try and start a fire with broken fingers..
Great Festival though.. The Line-up was brilliant..
GlorifiedJester1 3 years ago
A load of us managed to get some tickets and get there for our first reading. Got caught up in all the madness ended up getting one of our tents destroyed and spend the rest of the night fighting people off our other tent.
Our first reading would turn out to be absolute carnage.

To be honest these videos scare the hell outta me.
i've been for the past two years and i've survived.
everyones blaming it on the under 18s. but im only 17 and i can honestly say NONE of the people i was camped with did anything like this.
Its just dicks of all ages really.
My brother and sister had their tents set on fire, and lost alot of stuff. whats the point?
next year im leaving on sunday night. no doubt about it.
Lizmups 3 years ago 2
yeah we didn't get that bad this year we camped in orange heard it all, just stayed up all night toasting marshmallows just incase some twats came and nicked our stuff or started a massive fire.
personally i think there was toomany people there this year, the same as last year they need to stop selling toomany tickets.
people starting these fires are stupid and selfish, they wouldn't like it if i went and burnt their stuff would they ? or they got scrapnel in em just selfish people....
jetforce06 3 years ago
I have no idea why these idiots decide to do this. Its not just 'fun' a friend of mine saw a guys face literally melting as he caught fire after throwing a gas canister on his fire. Why do people have to do this year after year? What is so fun about setting shit on fire?
Danakscullyk 3 years ago
you would have thought that all the fuss they made about gas canisters and that advert thing, it would have put people off from doing that!
some people just never learn i supose.
EmmaISDEAD 3 years ago 2
I will never understand why if they dont want all the fires and so on they should have DJ sets in the tents and main stage still like 2 or 3am. that would be awesome. all the fire and stuff is lame
samuel45 3 years ago

It seems people show up on Sunday just to riot and I dont see the point.

dubtee89 3 years ago 3
I have the unedited footage on here as well. The editing was done for added impact and seems to have worked in gaining additional media coverage, which was my intention all along: To have as many people as possible see the stuff that goes on at the festival on Sunday night and hopefully dislodge some of the comments that it's all "Just people have a good time" that some news reports comment. There's nothing 'cool' about it.

EvilQueen19 3 years ago
well i done the security at reading this year was in indigo camp n if ya think 2 security with fire extinguishers would ave made any difference ure off ure head 2 ppl against a crowd of over a 100 doesnt work out trust me also it might help if the police actually done something rather than jus fuck off at 12 n leave us tae dae it all 4 the rest of the night
kieranfd7 3 years ago
the security's not short staffed, it's just inappropriately deployed. they're more interested in protecting their revenue than their fans, hence the perimeter having so much security they're tripping over each other, & the campsite having a couple of what are essentially untrained volunteers in a tower deciding when and where police need deploying. i guaran-fuckin-tee you that if they'd placed even 2 security people with fire extinguishers to each toilet block, no-one would have set fire to them

Bring Me The Hair Straighteners :) I like it. They truly are shit at life.
shitkrackleandpop 3 years ago
To be honest I don't mind doing it that way when people act like this, putting other people's lives at risk and ruining their property. I don't think they should raise the age limit, because I'm only nearly 16 and I don't riot (& I already bought my ticket for next year yesterday). Better/more secuity and not being so hesitant to arrest or throw people out of the festival would be a better way of dealing with it. Not all the young people riot, and the older people do it as well sometimes.
chavette2be 3 years ago
Holy shit, that's a bit over the top. There's a borderline between having fun and being a fucking dumbass. The first year anyone in my family went it was my mum and my sister camping on brown (which is now indigo) in 2006 and on Sunday night they got so scared they packed up their stuff at 2am, left the tent and slept in the station for the rest of the night. Now we camp in white and sleep in a hotel after then bands on Sunday.
chavette2be 3 years ago
I live in Reading so don't go on the animal Zoo's oh no I meant camp-sites sorry, a teenager is just as bad usually anyway.
The Manics set sums up must people who go to the festival, not that any of you fucks watched that as generic indie band were playing on the other stage I'd imagine.
I have insider information that Mean Fiddler are thinking of raising the age limit to 18 to get in, oh how I'd be happy and laugh if that happened. No more 14 year old girl fucks ruining things yay. :-D

What the fuck is wrong with those people?
How the fuck can anyone think that to be appropriate behaviour at any time?
Would they appreciate it if I waltzed into their house pissed as fuck and gurning my tits off on MDMA, then attempt to stick my hand up their mum's skirt, have a piss in their bin, call their dad a faggot and round it off by shitting in the middle of their living room?

While I was there I saw:
- Someone have a shit near the Main Stage (it was also picked up on camera so thousands of others also saw it)
- Someone piss in a bin that was no more than 20 yards from the gents toilets.
- Some guy trying to stick his hand up a passing girl's skirt.
- Someone get called a faggot by a group of pissed up blokes for wearing a pink shirt.
- People setting whatever they could on fire.
shitkrackleandpop 3 years ago 2
I was at Reading this year and the amount of mindless twats that were in attendance astounded me.
Why the fuck did the majority of people that were there think it's acceptable to act like animals?
Everyone seemed to focus more on getting absolutely wasted and trash shit than going for the music.
I noticed a huge amount of kids who probably didn't pay a fucking penny to be there who thought it would be hilarious to fuck everyone else's weekend up.
shitkrackleandpop 3 years ago 6
If any you ever kill anyone with this crap say goodbye to your festival forever and a murder charge.
TheConspiracyofSeeds 3 years ago
I worked as CAT (campsite assistant) on last night at Reading. The campsites are run by mainly volunteers and low paid, low-skilled workers, which is fine during the festival in general... but the last night requires trained professionals. Not security (ineffective), but a POLICE presence in every campsite. Unfortunately, I fear it will take a serious injury/death to occur before the organisers are likely to take any action, as is the case with exploding gas canisters.
sideshowdrew 3 years ago 4
serious injury did happen,i work for festival medical services, someone was brought in on Sunday night with really badly burns, someone set fire to his tent whilst he was sleeping inside. stuff like this should be treated as a serious criminal offense and anyone caught doing this should be charged
woogaz 3 years ago 10
I thought I would reply to this, as I am an idiot and pressed thumb down instead of up... (sorry!)
I agree. Half of my friends left early because they were so scared, if its such a good time then why are people too scared to sleep in their tents, and so therefore have to leave early...?

banging drums and making semi big fires = cool good fun

fekuz1 3 years ago 3
They should ban these festivals since you kids can't behave properly!
Barff 3 years ago
i agree that throwing other peoples tents and possession on the fire was wrong, but the security didn't do anything to help the situation all night they were stopping anything people were doing in crowds, like drumming on bins as soon as people got together they would come over and stop us, this sort of thing leads to the riots seen above, the security need to learn how to talk to people instead of trying to act all hard man which just aggravates people.
finjetsu 3 years ago 3
reading 08 was fuking amazing....rage were the absolute bollocks but all the 16 year old twats did piss me off!! and sunday night did ruin it a bit for me....im sorry but having lit gas cansisters thrown and explode literaly feet from your tent aint my idea of fun, green campsite was crazy!

IBevanI 3 years ago
it was purely festival rebublics fault for employing the pikeyiest chavs from glasgow who has no reasoning skills etc just the ability to shout and push , we eventually beat them at their own game hahah, better luck next year....( Due to social upheaval we have been advised to let **** out of the prison camp.) they were the best words to come out of the sweaties mouth and the only ones we understood lol
themessyman001 3 years ago
it is purely because of the arsehole security guards employed to monitor the festival, they were all uber aggresive little sterioded up arses from glasgow who no 1 could understand and all they wanted was to fight , they were power crazy and we started the riots in yellow c to free my mate who was wrongly imprisoned in the guard tower in yellow and they wouldn't give him water, i think this is against basic human rights. they deserved everything they got esp 589 you fat prick . i hope u readthis
themessyman001 3 years ago
oh dear... i camped in green and there were quite a few fires and explosions from gas canisters going off all night! and a fire almost as big as that right next to our tent, but it soon got put out! and the toilets got trashed also... pretty scary night but managed to survive it wooo!
SuperstarCaz12 3 years ago

rwld 3 years ago
Not a riot just a bunch of idiots who cant drink.
Not festival republics fault - the fault is with these morons.
Make it 18+ - problem solved and the proper festival crowd who can drink wouldnt have to deal with the immature wankers you can see in this clip.
getupkid83 3 years ago
well done for this vid...it does highlight the real problems at reading this year....we all have a lot to work on.
the people are not to blame...it was the organisers... festival republic keep us locked up while queing for tickets.cancelations.poorly trained and not enuf staff.i camped in yellow this year and i will continure to do so becasue i feel it is an issue to be addressed not shunned away.croud control is not one of festival republic's strong points. carling wouldent let this happen.
TEDDYlatto87 3 years ago
What? The people are to blame. If kids didnt act like morons on the last night there would be no problem. No festival organiser should feel the need to babysit its customers. I think you need to do a bit of research on Festival Republic too and other festivals they have a part in.
getupkid83 3 years ago 2
'Carling wouldent let this happen'. Haha how funny is that! Festival Republic is just a new name for Mean Fiddler who have always organised the festival, Carling just branded it. Ironically, most of the trouble is down to kids who cant handle alcohol, and Carlings continued branding of the festival which was essentially mass advertising of alcohol to a huge under 18 crowd.
getupkid83 3 years ago 2
Watching that... I really don't think I want to be a part of Reading Festival any more.
Whoever said it was worse in 2000; open your eyes. I was there too and yes, there were fires and the portaloos were burned down, but nothing on the scale of this year.
Here's hoping for a safer '09.
sickhappy 3 years ago 2
I was also there in 2000 - camped well away from the trouble spots, luckily enough. Did see what went down though. Very unpleasant stuff indeed.
I wasn't there this year but I find that fact you said it was WORSE this year rather perturbing.
I put it down to lack of security and policing and point the finger of blame SQUARELY at festival republic.
