Four months for the Bach Suites? I think you should consider at least two years of technical practice with a private teacher before you begin. The shifting needs to be perfect, and you need to be well grounded in intontion and technics before you can move on to the emotion of the piece.
After that, I suggest you play all the bach Suites just working your way up, with other practice books to improve your technique. After that, you're all set for the really hard cello concertos.
agreed, but the girl is playing the 1st cello part, and one usually chooses the better player to play the 1st part, correct? although that is just my guess... :)
My orchestra played this very well a couple of years ago when i was in the eigth grade.
One of the cellists was a seventh grader then. He plays at about a college level. Of course, he didnt just play for school. I have it recorded, but my cord is missing.
@dramaqueen412 i know that this is beautiful music, but i really think you should play a little longer before learning this piece-it's isn't necessarily the music itself, but coordinating it with your partner is the hardest part, in my opinion. in any case though, i think that you are good to play bach suite no. 1 prelude, now that you have been playing for atleast 4 months... give it a try, it's beautiful... :)
I've been playing almost 6 months now and i'm loving it =) And i LOVE Bach's prelude. I have some technical things to work on though before i play anything too advanced =(
lol, glad to hear it. :) anyways, this is cliche, but practice makes perfect! xD just keep working on it, hopefully very soon you'll be able to work on this piece, if you haven't already-it really isn't all that hard individually. like i already said, playing it with a partner is 10x harder. however, this piece doesn't sound too bad by itself either.. regardless of what you do, i wish you luck into becoming a cello master! xD
My friend and I are going to play this for solo-ensemble, and I really hope we can sound that good! Plus, this song is really cool, and the people in this vid. played it really well!
es perfecto los chellos estan cantando con sus maravillosas notas hacen un duo perfecto en cuanto a la orquesta se integra y se escucha marivilloso con una armonia increible exelente viva vialdi
um... just an fyi. there's a lot of asians that play classical b/c that's what they're parents want. sooooo..... maybe that's why there's such a coincidence that they both happened to be asians.^.^ nobody can be perfect, so please don't be judgemental and racist.
never saw that before! the concert shouldn't be that fast and there something weird in the beginning, but they are very young and very good! nice video!
I like love the piece and I have to say its was overall good, Like the duet solo parts, though there were several places where there was wrong notes, and I just have to say this style was not very melodic, to me. It just displayed technical ability of playing notes on rhythm but does not display the full capacity of their musicality and musicianship.
I've decided to remove racist remarks and block users who have made racists comments, not because they don't have a right to be bigots, but because I don't want these young people's feelings to be hurt.
I'm very alarmed at these racist comments directed at two very musical 13-year-olda who happen to be Asian. I would imagine that any musical problems are mostly due to their youth, not their race.
Wow, it's one thing to criticize the players for their playing, but to bring race into this and even then, to say derogatory stereotypical statements. I mean, I'm pretty sure we're mature enough to understand that yes, different nationalities play different interpretations, but do a couple of interpretations make a race better? Yes, they played out of tune and they rushed. Is it because they're Asian? .....
yes they are great cellist because theyre asians and Im not racist the asians are good players coz they have great disciplines for their culture in my opinion they are lovers of the perfection and thats so cool i wanna be like that
They are technically good but i think they played too fast and too harsh, so i (its my personal opinion) couln´d hear anymore all the nice facets of the piece.Sorry for my bad english
I hate to tell you this, but this video doesn't come from China or Japan. The young Thai man who conducted this concert 4 years ago has now been chosen young conductor of the year for the Rossini Festival in Italy and is conducting Mozart at the Opera du Rhin. Asia offers exciting new perspectives on European culture and the best minds in Europe know this and are now frequently inviting our artists to teach them.
ok my english is no t good, but the chinese and japanese and all of oreint people is nothing if compares with thee european people, they are horribles and want to be included in the glorious world of european music, and to be so, they practica and practice, but the talent is in other tyhings, you are good, japanese, an chinese, but dyou r are like rabbits you are a pollution to the world

Love the exciting bit at 00:39, great moment of Vivaldi-ish inspiration! I dunno how composers have this unique voice (why does the sound of Vivaldi stringmusic sound so different to Corelli, Bach, Handel string music etc.? What is it about the particular notes??) but Vivaldi's is so fun!
That's what I think, but he's often not included in 'Great Composers' books, even modern ones well after his revival! He may not do the most amazing fugal/contrapuntal things, or the most complex accompaniment, but I think two things especially show his rank in the great composers - a) He made loads of structural, melodic, and even harmonic innovations, and seemed always full of interesting effects and ideas, and b) his music is simply so much fun and refreshing, which is sort of rare in a way
I think the distinctiveness of his style provides people with pros and cons too. Like that pattern at 00:22 - you just know that it's going to back one degree lower, and twice lower again! Vivaldi uses these common melodic effects so much, so you are often able to guess it coming in his concerti, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing! It's satisfying to the ear and when he does break expectation, it's usually in an enjoyable, inspired way. He wrote his music similarly cos he knew it was good!

These kids are very skilled but in a society where you are supposed to avoid expressions, no applause is present. Not that is needed. Look at how confident they are. That is one big difference among their culture and the american culture. If a kid picks up a rock the mom says "I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!" Fake reinforcement for a trivial action. And they grow up thinking that breathing, is something that makes everyone proud. These teens know what they are doing and HOW good it was.
one day i went to a organ concert in Oporto, Portugal, on the european organ festival. we had winfried bönig playing a vivaldi concerto arranged for organ and it was going excellent until the ignorant and uneducated great part of the people who were watching started to clap after the 1st movement, and even when winfried started to play they kept applauding
There are some really good viola concertos out there. The Telemann Viola Concerto is one that comes to mind. But yeah; I see what you mean, performances of them seem to be rather rare.
Six concerti for the viola d'amore by Vivaldi still survive. It is a viola with strings running under the fingerboard that are not played directly but vibrate sympathetically from the harmonics of the bowed strings. It makes a beautiful sound.
Mm, I know what you mean, even though I'm a violinist. Plus cos I follow scores and stuff too, one can see how they are often used. But the cello has a most unique and wonderful tenor range, and so when I write my own music (which i do alot of) I often give the cellos their own bit comparable to any violin phrase, especially the most jubilant or melancholy :)
Wow this is like my all time favorite Vivaldi piece! See, I'm a ballet dancer and songs like these really appeal to me! I LOVE the fast B section too! It's so much fun to dance to. There is also a version of this with a guy singing in it it's also really good!
I'm am also a ballet dancer which is why I play the cello. I am working on this piece and I know it is difficult BUT I love this song. I'm only 13 so I should be able to play it like that within the year hopefully. I just need to find a second cellist. Very good job though. The only thing is that one of the very first notes went sour which didn't start the piece off so well but it was wonderful.
Sorry to hear that, but this is one of my favorite pieces of Vivaldi. The version I love absolutely was done by Europa Galante in their CD: La tempesta di mare/Concerti con titoli

Why do you imply that it's fake?

@K0596
It was not a suggest, but a statement.
I'm sure that Vivaldi's music would be fine as well without this faked exhibition.
bacz7 1 year ago
@bacz7
I am asking again, why is it faked? Do you think it can't be playing by kids or something?
K0596 1 year ago
@K0596
I have answered your question yet.
And my question: if children generate fake classical music then it is OK for you?
For me: fake is fake at all time.
Some (*SOME*) children are genius, but these kids are not.
IMHO.
It's all my folks. :)
