I think a big problem in our world today is there are people who claim to be very religious, but they don't practice what they preach. In fact a lot of them think of themselves as better than everybody else and this mentality scares people away who aren't sure about God yet. They need to remember that God loves us all and just because you were saved doesn't make you better than anyone else. We all make mistakes in our life and instead of casting judgement we need to love each other.
@1076thestuff Well yes, religious people are better than everybody else; a child of God is humble and see's everyone as their equal-you know like God himself does. The last thing Jesus ever called us was friends and you're right - that's what we all are or should be to him and each other.

"Everywhere" may too vague for you but its the truth. God doesnt have spatial coordinates because he does not live in space. He is not some distant diety that may exist and is too busy to deal with your issues. Instead he is personal and very much real and i think this song is really just showing that.

It is simply easier to refer to that fellowship as church, then to say "the place where I get together with other believers and worship God", which is what many people mean when they say church. Those who accept Jesus already know that they take him on faith and not by any kind of reproducible proof, except our own lives being miraculously changed by the power of God day by day, in the form of healed relationships, broken addictions, restless nights made restful and sinful patterns made quietly and slowly into behind-closed-doors integrity. @RandomConcepts Besides, you don't accept most of your knowledge of history from scientific proof, but from written records, or what you'd call "hearsay." You merely choose to disbelieve these historical accounts because you think it does not fit with the things you have observed to be normal in the world. That is totally reasonable, but not logically conclusive proof of anything. Unlike other religions' texts, Jesus' ministry is visually documented, repeatedly corroborated, written history.

@RandomConcepts science merely records observations, and is subordinate to reality. It does not dictate reality. It only hopes to interpret the parts of it that it can reliably observe. The inability of science to observe something real does not make the thing less real, but rather defines the bounds of science. Did Jesus transcend physical constants? Maybe. If events really did transcend or interrupt physics, then science would be unable to prove or disprove them.

@RandomConcepts Also, it seems you assume that miracles are impossible. Why? My point still stands that God exists through the argument of the intelligent design of life and the universe. If God exists, and Jesus, who exists, is indeed the "Son of God", then why wouldn't miracles be impossible?
Science is not the final authority on "literal" proof. Science has yet to explain many things about our universe. You can't even prove the scientific method with the scientific method!

Please explain what you mean by opportunism. Considering that there were numerous self-proclaimed messiahs around that time, who had followers that stopped believing upon their death; why did Jesus' closest disciples, who were historical eye-witnesses, die for what they claimed they saw and heard?

By Contrast, over the same 150 years, there are nine non-Christian sources who mention Tiberius Caesar, the Roman emperor at the time of Jesus. So discounting Christian sources, Jesus is actually mentioned by one more source than the Roman emperor. If you include the Christian sources, authors mentioning Jesus outnumber those mentioning Tiberius 43 to 10!

Flavius Josephus was regarded as the greatest Jewish historian of his time, and i quote "At the time of Pilate there was a wise man who was called Jesus... And many people from among the Jews and other nations became his disciple. Pilate condemned him to be crucified and to die. But those who had become his disciples did not abandon his discipleship They reported that he had appeared to them three days after..."

It's logical and proven that Jesus was indeed REAL at that particular time. If Jesus was fake during the time frame why would so many people give up their life willingly for the name of Jesus.

"Everywhere" may too vague for you but its the truth. God doesnt have spatial coordinates because he does not live in space. He is not some distant diety that may exist and is too busy to deal with your issues. Instead he is personal and very much real and i think this song is really just showing that.

@RandomConcepts Did u know that many well-renowned scientists believe in a deity, not b/c of subjective personal experiences, but b/c they couldn't deny the scientific evidence? Just look into it. Example, Einstein's General Relativity, which implies that the universe had a beginning. This irritated Einstein since he, an atheist, had to believe in an outside, "invisible" force that caused the universe. But by the end of his life, he said, "I want to know [God's] thought, the rest are details."

The universe has been expanding ever since its creation rather that be from a "Big Bang" or from God. Now there is scientific proof for you, but I'm sure you would also call that coincidence. The point remains that the Bible proves itself again and again to hold truth in it. The vast majority of the world, like you, just calls it coincidence

@RandomConcepts The Bible says, "all of Israel's people will be scattered across the earth, her language all but forgotten". Rome conquered Israel selling all of their people as slaves. The people were shipped all over the Empire. Later during World War II after the Holocaust the Hebrew language was actually nearly forgotten. If it wasn't for written works it would have become a dead language. There is historical proof of you may call it "coincidence".

@Herkeless Well it seemed like you were implying we should not have to attend fellowship with other believers regularly (i.e. "church"). It is simply easier to refer to that fellowship as church, then to say "the place where I get together with other believers and worship God", which is what many people mean when they say church.
