@bragee : Maybe I'm blind but how did you come to such conclusion? What I see is Piquet being in front and totally at the left edge of the track when Mansell hits him. What he was supposed to do, go on grass?
@jrmb242 well, mansell was inside and piquet did not lift gas and gone on outside portion of track. mansell was completely inside with the whole car (first rule to be right), when they touched, piquet was already almost out (for trying to stay forward). anyway, i'm a nigel fan and maybe i'm the blind one. moreover, suzuka last chicane is a really peculiar corner and, if you're inside on first bend then, after a second you're outside. we could talk about it forever maybe. two beers? ciao
I do not sound like Balestre - although he was correct on this occasion. Senna did something which was against the rules which stated that a driver cannot restart from a crash in an escape road. Prost did not do this, therefore, he did not cheat. Senna did, therefore, he cheated. That is the end of it.
@NOXXism The key point about 1989 was that no matter who turned in on who, or who went straight on, Senna cheated by re-starting and missing the chicane if nothing else. Senna was always a dirty cheat, and he had no need to be, as he was also phenomenally skilled. However, he also felt that the only way he could win on some occasions was not in a straight fight. Just to be clear, Senna was a CHEAT
@SuperPrivate2011 Hahahaha boy you are SO wrong. There is no rule saying that drivers can't move along after they "crash". Second, if you even looked at the crash, senna was way ahead to make the chicane and I don't see what's the probelm with the chicane because A LOT of drivers passed it like senna even on purpose and they weren't penalised.
@NOXXism No there isn't a rule saying drivers can't continue ON THE RACETRACK after they crash, but Senna used an escape road, which was and is against the rules. Therefore, Senna cheated. Again. END
@SuperPrivate2011 If you look at the crash they stopped ON the escape road. The marshalls couldn't push senna backwards because other cars were coming. You sound like Balestre talking and piquet also said senna was disqualified illegally. Ron dennis showed various clips were drivers didn't even slow down as they entered the escape road. The escape road is there to be used in cases like senna's and thats why you can't go in a straight line through it. The CHEAT here is Prost, not Senna
@NOXXism It's all good that they stopped on the escape road. Prost CORRECTLY retired. The rules at the time forbade any driver to do what Senna did. Therefore, Senna is a cheat. Not just here, but on several different occasions, and I can give details.
@SuperPrivate2011 Prost retired because he new jmb would disqualify senna. If it happened the other way, you would see prost doing the same thing as senna
it's clearly a piquet mistake

In a video about Mansell and Piquet, most of the comments are about Senna.
He must be the man :)

SuperPrivate2011, you may be able to give details, but no one is interested in BS about the legendary career of Ayrton Senna

as usual, Piquet took Mansell out, and had to resort to cheating to beat a better driver in a straight fight on the track.

I guess this accident gave the idea for Prost next year

@Smertyin092 Except Senna crashed into Prost, not the other way around...

@SuperPrivate2011 Not. You must be talking about when senna gets his revenge.

@NOXXism He crashed into Prst both years, 1989 and 1990. It was less overt in 1989.

@SuperPrivate2011 What? LOL! In 1989 even a blind guy could tell prost did it on purpose
