Ich verstehe das System innerhalb der Patrone nicht. Gibt es einen extra Tank der dort am Rand ist und nur der darf befüllt werden oder was?

@PsHelpGerman meistens sind Nadel Spritze und manchmal auch Bohrer dabei.

Die Tinte sollte nicht nur hochwertig sein, sondern auch die richtige für die gewählte Patrone sein. Da gibt es große Unterschiede. Weil alle Privatanwender immer irgendeine Tinte nehmen gibt es auch soviele Probleme

no good experience with that! you can´t get the ink tank full. if you turn it around like in the video, it can be that the ink runs out of the airhole at the top of the cartridge. better make a hole on top of the ink tank, hold the ink cartridge over the ink tube so that the outrunning ink doesn´t get lost - than fill it full with ink and close it quick with a - over a candle melted - hotglue meldet glue.

The air hole on top of the cartridge is on the sponge side. it WILL NOT leak while it is upside down.

This is by far the fastest and cleanest method to refill these cartridges.

I ended up using a long sewing needle then the blunt.

So far I am very happy with this method!

I guess you use the sewing needle in the beginning to make a small path through the sponge and then use your blunt needle afterwards to get the ink into the tank, right? (I ask because I think sewing needles are not hollow, so no ink can pass through them. And you can't connect them to a syringe)

I can't really comment on that, since I've refilled my carts with a sharp needle ever since. If you live in the USA, I think sharp needles may be not sold freely there (perhaps because of drug addicts? I have no idea). But I think there are some people from the US who use blunt needles without problems. I'll post your comment on the nifty-stuff forum thread mentioned below... perhaps somebody over there has some ideas where to get sharp needles in the US or how to use blunt ones properly.

It seems that at least one person (stratman) uses blunt needles and is very happy with them; in fact he prefers them over sharp needles. Thin needles work better here, I think. Other options: sharpen a needle for youself or try to buy sharp needles somewhere. It seems that mailing of sharp needles is forbidden in some states of the USA (perhaps for the safety of the mailmen who are afraid of injuries?), but not in others.

Maybe you used needles with a blunt tip, or 3rd party carts where the foam is not as good as in OEM carts? I'm refilling my first set of Canon carts since one and a half year now with a sharp needle without problems, so I don't know your problem... I'm just guessing here.

This way is bad, you should never fiddle with that foam. See their other video, it's better method.

I refill my carts since 1,5 years now using this method. My first set of carts is still in use, I never even had to flush it. I pierced the foam of the yellow cart 100x to test if the foam would deteriorate: No, even yellow works for me like a new cart. If you don't like this method: no problem, there are many other ways to refill your carts. But I like it, I use it for 1,5 years now and there never has been a single problem.

Super Video! Das hat meine Entscheidung vollkommen erleichtert. Mir treten aber diesbezüglich noch einge Fragen auf. Wie auch schon ein Anderer, frage ich mich auch, wieso aus dem gebohrten Loch keine Tinte ausläuft, ergo, warum muss es nicht abgedichtet werden? Und warum muss man erst mit einer langen Nadel zur Kammer vordringen, kann man nicht gleich den Schwamm befülllen? Welche Tinte von welchem Hersteller würdest du empfehlen?Danke!

Achtung: Wenn die Tintenvorratskammer undicht ist - z.B. weil man diese schonmal nach der herkömmlichen Methode befüllt und dann nicht richtig verschlossen hatte -, dann wird die Tinte sogar an zwei Stellen auslaufen. Einmal unten und einmal aus dem hier von uns gebohrten Loch.

Kurzum: Ein Loch in der Schwammkammer (wie hier) macht nichts, aber ein Loch in der Tintenvorratskammer führt dazu, dass diese keinen Unterdruck mehr enthält und dann sämtliche Tinte ausläuft.

Nein. Der Schwamm sorgt dafür, dass keine Tinte ausläuft. Man könnte das Loch zur Beruhigung vielleicht auch mit einem kleinen Tropfen Heißkleber verschließen. Nötig ist das aber nicht, und der Vorteil an dieser Methode ist ja grade, dass man nicht lange mit Heißkleber rumhantieren muss.
