I think what makes this movie such a cult classic is the narration Christopher Collet gives at the beginning of the film. I can remember when this film came out and many critics claimed it was pretty much tongue in cheek and "it will never happen". The irony is it is happening. "They were consumed with greed....they borrowed more money than they could ever repay...." It's interesting to see how much similarity there is in the plot of this film with "the crash" as it is referred to.

@truesouljs At first everyone suspected that he had died of an overdose, considering his history, but even two days after he died, it was noted that there was something wrong with his heart, lungs, and blood vessels. He had a fever the day before and was experiencing flu like symptoms. After the final results came back, more than a month later, it was discovered that he died of blood vessel issues, heart issues, and pneumonia. He did have drugs in his system, but they did not cause his death.

I think what amazes me about this film is the relevance to what is going on here in the states. I like that the writer of the film predicted what was going to happen in the near future ans was dead on to what is happening here in America. The crash of the economy as a result to all the loans from the banks made over the years that just continued to pile up.
