  • what is that program or w/e that showed you all the temps of ur hardware?

  • Best Air Cooling setup you can get , wrong, this is crap.

  • @Siltwarrior *whispers* This video was four years ago. Obviously, computers have come a long way since then. :)

  • @brokenjohnny Fuu, i dont saw this, sry man. But self in 2008 you can turn the CPU cooler XD

  • what a mess..where do the cockroaches live? u have it overclocked at 3.570..mine is air cooled for the moment and is o.c at 4.01

  • @deadfishdood Really? You're running an AMD 6400BE processor OC'd to 4Ghz? I'd absolutely love to see your CPU-Z screenshot of that.

  • where did you get the neon?

  • @limedesign2 The neon was some shitty multi-colored LED bar that I got from a local PC store. It can change to half a zoen different colors, or cycle between them all. I kept it blue because most of my other case fans have blue LEDs in them. But you can find great computer neon lights at almost any site that sells parts. Google it up!

  • wires are a clusterfuck.

  • @MildGamer001 You're telling me. I built this bastard in a mid tower case back before modular PSU's existed. The thing didn't even have a backboard for me to loop the wires behind. *laughs* Amazing how far we've come in 3 years.

  • all those fans blowing in different directions gives u very poor air movement inside, and all those cables inside turn that poor movement to no movement, best air cooling u can get is 200mm in front and 200mm out back (or top) single direction flow and all cables tucked behind mobo tray or at least taped to frame inside to get rid of obstructions, that will run 10X cooler and 100X quiter, the only noise i hear from my tower is the hard drive (ambient @ 22C, idle @ 23C, P95 @ 44C, i3 OC @ 4ghz)

  • The problem with this setup is that the openings in the case are not filtered, so dust will be a problem....

  • @Zoowey07 Dust was a HUGE problem with this setup. Low Pressure may technically cool the case better, but you're gonna have to dust it out once a month.

  • what gadget is that? (with all the temperatures, etc)

  • lawl,i have a amd X2 5600+ and it runs @ 28C not overclocked, on stock cooling lololololol.

  • @trainergames stock cooling and high end cooling dont have much of a difference at stock clocks, overclock that bitch, then see how good stock is lol

  • @TheWoWRevelation well i tried to overclock it to 3.00ghz(from the stock 2.8ghz), and the i ended up having to remove the cmos battary, to reset the bios lol. but it's not my main pc anyway lol,my main rig is a intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 2.66 ghz(kept @ stock clock),with a Domino A.L.C. cooling the cpu,and it on idle hits 28C,on heavy load 54c,i once overclocked it to 3.1ghz,but i did not like the temps it had(40C on idle,75c under heavy load).

  • Best Air Cooling, yeah i hear that. ::P:Ppp:Pp.P

  • i hate it when people makes videos about airflow when they don't even have a good cable management...hahayz...@_@

  • i must agree w cable man. but some rigs work different it may work for him , but i wouldnt recommend it. im running pass through air and im overclocked with the i7 960 3.2 to a 4.3 not to shabby i run temps of about 55c full load/ 27 idle

  • Hey Guys, Can you help me?

I have two case fans on my case; one is at the front which is an intake and one is at the back which is an exhaust. I also have another two additional fans which are my PSU which is a exhaust at the top just above my rear case fan; and the other fan is my Intel Stock CPU fan which blows air away from my cpu

When I put a little peice of paper on an open grill on the side it sticks to it like what the guy did in this video.

Why is there negative pressure inside my case?

  • Vacuum? You jester me. One thing is talking about pressure levels, but vacuum?! Do you guys even know what you're saying? Try opening a dictionary, then open a physics book, and then you MIGHT say something relatively correct about vacuum (something like "There is no vacuum in desktop computers" would be a good start).

  • Lol, low pressure, thats going to keep is niiiice and cool lol, learn some basic physics mate.

  • @ukjamie96 I did. Seems that when fresh, cool air is moving past every component through every available opening, all parts of the PC stay cooler. And it seems when warm air is being swirled around the insides of the case, it's hard for dust to get in, and heat to get out.

  • houston we have liftoff

  • better bay .. 1000 more and get water lol :D

  • My cooling is better on a thermaltake armor+!!! All extra fans and top exhaust

  • tornado)

  • i disagree with u we have a INTEL Pentium 4 2.80GHz socket 478 and a AMD Athlon 64 2.40GHz AM2 and the intel runs IDLE at 124F the AMD runs IDLE between 95 and 104F

  • sometime fans can be aonying they make load noise

  • Does any one have reviews bout coolermaster cm690 case cause I want to now I there's good airflow of the top of it is mesh and if that's good or bad thx and great bid by the way

  • Arte you jokin.......fail!

  • the NH-D14 would beat that cpu cooler and do it with only 16dB of fan noise.

  • So you don't have to vacuum your room right ? Your PC does it for you ?

  • wo that is sure cable menagment

  • I got a athlon ii x4 3.6ghz oced from 3ghz and it runs at 8-14c lol and it has a stock cooler, if I had urs it'd be fkin negatives haha, I have a tempest evo, 2intake and 3 outtake

  • @wasssabio Wow, your old, hot CPU magically runs colder than anyone's ambient room temperature? You must live in Siberia. I bet when you spit it freezes before it hits the ground.

  • My case fan configuration was : 1 x 120 mm fan on front 1 x 120 mm fan on bottom 2 x 120 mm fan on top 1 x 120 mm fan on exaust 1 x 120 mm fan on sideI then removed the 120 mm side fan and placed it on front above the other front fan so that it brings cool air right on the cpu cooler i was amased with the resaults : cpu=25 C system=27 C graphics card = 57 C same ambient temp = 22 C
  • I have a Coolermaster CM 690 case System: core i7 860 2.8 Ghz Asus P7P55 EVO ATI Sapphire 4870 vapor-x 2 GB 2 x 2 GB ram CPU Cooler: Thermaltake ISGC-300 So listen up: With the stock Cpu cooler i was getting: cpu=37 C system=35 C graphics card = 60 C with ambient temp = 22 C After i installed the Thermaltake ISGC-300 on CPU i was getting: cpu=32 C system=32 C graphics card = 60 C same ambient temp
  • gta vice city ? lol

  • what program(s) do you use to monitor the temperatures?

  • Call me again if the CPU cooling is not sucking warm air from the GPU.

  • Dust sucker

  • sounds like a jet

  • so the fan in the bottom is sucking up dust and throwing it on the cpu cooler nice lol

  • will take off

  • Hmm, just based on how small the case is and how bad the cable management is, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this isn't the "BEST" air cooling setup you can have. :)

  • cable management is bad and your case is loud and ugly.

  • I got a cooler master haf 922 with a 200mm fan on front pulling cool air in, 200mm fan on top blowing hot air out the top, 120mm fan on the bottom pulling air in, 140mm fan on the back pushing hot air out and a 200mm fan on the case door pulling cool air in

since I bought it my load cpu temps dropped by 11 C AFTER an additional overclock (it's a phenom (first gen) 9750 2.4Ghz quad at 2.73Ghz) and currently the idle temp reads as 19 C (core 1 temp) but the "aux" cpu temp reads as 29C, I dunno

  • for cpu which goes in an witch goes out?

  • i would say my case has better air cooling than this

  • @Splooshiba Probably. I made this PC 3 years ago, heh.

  • its not the best As your power is on the top thus heat is pushed in BUAHAHAH

  • @JCkido0o You idiot, power supply fans don't suck are into the case. Put your hand on the back of your power supply and tell me what direction the air is flowing.

  • @MrJohnnyOldschool sorry i guess i was not clear i was going for that powersuplys are best on the bottom of the case for they push air out of the bottom of the case for air is pumped through the case

  • @JCkido0o You don't need to worry too much about which power supply will be the best as far as cooling is concerned. Power supplies are really only made to cool themselves, and all of them pull air from inside the case and push it out.

Power supplies are a very over looked component of a PC though. Always do a bit of research on the best brands before buying one, and never, ever get a cheap one. It's the heart of the computer, pumping the life giving energy to all the other parts.

  • Wow, this is a good example of how not to rig fans. that vacuum isn't doing anything. I have a very similar rig with the same voltage monitors, except my cpu is the 5000 windsor. I have two fans: 1 in at the front and 1 out at the back. Simple airflow running in 1 direction has been proven to be the most effective colling method, and my system is whisper quiet. Have you tried equalling intake and outake fans so you don't cause pressure or vacuum? I bet you would see lower temps.

  • @ArcanePath360 A low pressure case will always cool better than a high pressure or equal pressure case. It's a fundamental law of fluidic dynamics. You simply just don't know what you are talking about, because a high pressure case providing better cooling literally defies the laws of physics.

Also, since heat rises, cooling from bottom to top will ALWAYS be the most effective cooling method. For anything.

  • @MrJohnnyOldschool Firstly, we're not talking about fluidic dynamics, I think you're trying to present a "straw man" argument there. We're talking "air flow dynamics", and if you research the subject of PC case cooling as I have, you'll find it has been proven that equal pressure is best, coupled with maximum airflow in ONE direction.

Secondly, who said you should put the intake higher and the outake lower? Thank you for the science lesson, but I never said this

  • @ArcanePath360 Air is considered a fluid when used in physics. People who design engines for cars study fluidic dynamics to create better airflow from the intake, to the ports, and out the exhaust manifold. Read a book. As far as airflow in one direction, since heat rises, the most efficient form of cooling will always be bottom to top. And as far as pressure goes, a low pressure case is pulling fresh cool air past every component, through every opening, and every crack. Case closed.

  • @MrJohnnyOldschool Okay, with regards to "fluid" dynamics being used in physics for airflow, if this is true I wasn't aware, but yet again you have failed to read my post correctly as yet again you have pointed out something that I never said I didn't know! It's frustrating talking to people who don't listen, so I'll not be replying anymore. Case closed indeed.

  • @ArcanePath360 - nope, you're 100% wrong. Ideal situation is to have more intake fans, than out take fans. This way you create "positive air pressure" and optimum cooling. It also avoids having dust build up inside the case, as there are no dead spaces for it to settle. Your setup although works, will attract a lot of dust and not perform ideal cooling. Dead spots will be left where areas are not being cooled.

  • @ravman007 Low pressure case means that every tiny nook and cranny acts as a vent to suck in cold, fresh air into the case. High pressure means that the internal air, which is warm, will be pushed past every component through the outside of the case. Therefore, low pressure cools better. The only thing you are right about is the case getting more dusty with a low pressure setup.

    It's basic physics.

  • @ravman007 More intake than outtake? Sorry but if you intake air which is then heated and doesn't exit the system eficiently, that's just plain daft. Dead spots are not a bad thing as long as the right things are getting cooled it doesn't matter if a few bits here and there are slightly warm, as not everything in the PC generates heat. As for the dust build up, I have a dust filter over my intake fan, I don't know about you.

  • @ArcanePath360 Hot air rises. The most efficient cooling method will always be to have a vent at the top of your case.

  • @ArcanePath360 Exactly right.

  • ugh mines only 35C and its stock :P

  • i got my amd overcklocked to 3.5 on the original cpu cooler

  • you chould have it blow out hot air not suck in, you pc will get very dusty very fast.

  • @maxamillion4536 Actually, you are right. The biggest downside of a low pressure case is that is gets extremely dusty. I have to open it up and dust it frequently. This could be reduced if I places filters on the vents, but I have not do so yet.

  • i should show u my case :P 30cm side fan xclio case i exhaust my gfx card with a 62cfm pci exhaust fan right below it and ive flipped over my cpu fan to suck air past the heatsink, this has also been ducted to the rear, i also like you have the large 150cm psufan.

i also use two pletiers+heatsinks to cool an aluminium tube whihc i place on the side of my pc as an aircon unit with a fan sucking air from the top and cooling it down then ducting it into the bottom of the case

  • Gta Vice City!

  • Mine is the same exact way dude! I just have three on top and none on the back because i dont have a fan ahah. There is a vid on my channel if you wana see it. Its a CM Cosmo S

  • Wow i have E5200 overclocked to 3.5GHz but your temperatures are 10 degrees cooler :(

  • Damn thats lame. I admit I live in a quite cold country (England) but I've got ONE case fan running at medium settings with a q9550@3.6 and it never gets above 65 on load, idles at 45.

  • @Neutrinoghost Oh, so you're running a chip with far smaller architecture and that takes only half the voltage to run than the AMD 6400BE. And you're STILL getting much higher temperatures.

I'm confused. Who was the one who was supposed to be lame here?

  • Did you make that computer? because i made my own pc so i dont need all that stuff. its customized to blow in and out air.. so my computer is super good btw your video card sucks.

  • @sgtsharpshooter

How about you post your temperatures for the AMD 6400BE with those overclock settings and we can see if your air cooling system is better.

  • nice video. so u want more intake fans then exhaust fans?

  • :@ cable mangement

  • how do you setup a low pressure case? i have the nvidia case limited edition a beast of a case

  • @Liquadia

All you need to do to set up a low pressure case is to make sure that you have more air being sucked OUT of the case than being blown IN. More fans need to be sucking out than fans being blown in.

  • Thanks for the detailed reply! I will go pick up some of those when I build my next custom case thanks so much!

  • how do you get case feet that are that long?

  • Well, I went down to a hardware store and I bought feet made for a couch. If you go to any store like Home Depot, they usually have all sorts of different "feet" available. I spent awhile picking out which ones I wanted, and then i took them home, and hot-glued the hell out of them to make 'em stick.

I was actually very careful with the way I glued them. I used a lot of hot-glue, but I was careful with the way I applied it. But thus far, they haven't fallen off or given me any problems!

  • That's idiotic. You wouldn't even hear your game over the noise and sucking everything out is pointless; It's always better to blow than suck. In games too. ;D

  • Not really. I think it sounds louder on the video than it really is. Or maybe I'm just used to it. *laughs* Either way, I normally use a headset when I game, so it doesn't matter much.

  • that case is a mess

  • *laughs* I know. But it does the trick, so I'm happy.

  • @fmpanic000 It's a mess yeah sure, and cable management is important for good airflow, but he posted this video in 2008... judging by how many clueless morons there are on this page, I don't even think many of them even had a computer back then. It doesn't seem any of them bothered reading the description either, or his specs before they began talking shit.

  • that case is a fucking mess

  • Hello guys, I just made a video of me overclocking my I-7(920) using 2 floor model freezers. I've never seen anybody try this before using affordable cheap freezers VS a $1200.00 Phase Changer so tried. The name of the video is called "Overclocking I-7(920) using two Freezers!" Check it and tell me what you think.

  • Thats How Water and AIr cooling is meant to be. Cold Air from Bottom, hot air out the top its a no brainer. and he just showed us. Plus AMD chips have always rune'd hot compared to intel Chips but their cheaper in price without a doubt. GO GET ONE haha,

  • that´s on IDLE, is it? i have an Athlon II X2 250 @ 3 GhZ with ONE CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ and it´s 19°C idle^^ The case is a Antec Two Hundred, so the CPU Heatsink has 2 fans right by it´s side.

  • Dude, the X2 250 is a 45nm chip. The BE6400 is a 90nm. Obviously, on a chip like mine that uses almost twice the wattage to run, it's going to have a higher idle temp. The 250 takes about 80 watts. Mine takes 120. Mine also runs on a far higher voltage, so that is the reason why your chip would automatically run cooler at idle than mine would.

  • put more FSB to overclock

    only 29 C

  • the overclock is small to small to b Cool

    only 3,5 ? and 29 C

put more FSB for more overclock

  • *laughs* I love it when newbies pretend they know what they are talking about. The AMD chips don't even HAVE an fsb. *laughs*

Tell you what. You go get yourself a 90nm AMD chip, and let me know how far you can overclock it on air alone.

  • silverstone fans right? they move a crazy amount of air but i couldn't handle the noise at those speeds.

  • i have the same cpu un-lapped with a smaller and un-lapped heatsink

my overclock is 3.3ghz at 1.44 volts my idel is 23C-25C load is around 35-40C

gpu idel 36C-37C load 45C-49C stock cooler

but i keep my pc room around 20-21C and my pc fans 80-90% when gaming and 50% when surfing the web stuff like that

i care for performance more than comfort (:

  • oh yeah, get good dust filters. if not, have fun cleaning every few days.

  • um, dude. I have a smaller mid tower case (NZXT Gamma) with 2 9800gtx+'s a coolermaster V8, 80mm spot cooler over my ddr2's and the psu mounted on the bottom........you can get some cable management done on that case. give me a few hours and i can get your rig clean. My case is FILLED, and you cannot see any cables other than the 2 6-pins to power my cards. I also have 5 120mm's, 2 140mm's (silent coolermasters), hd cooler and the 120 inside the v8. Cold.........

  • it is also a dust collector

  • More like a tesla-like electromagnet for every tiny particle in the air. A shopping mall once asked me if they could use my computer as a dust filter for their air circulation system.

  • not a good airflow, need more cable management

  • There's no way I can do any cable management in a mid-tower case with two video cards and an oversized heatsink. *laughs* That's why I went with 4 110CFM fans. With that much air being pulled through the case, I could fill the sucker with cement and it'd still stay cool! *laughs*

  • @MrJohnnyOldschool maybe behind the mobo tray and at the HDD cage?

    lol ;)

  • using coretemp as well btw way. the lowest ive seen my two cores is 19c/13c

  • I could run those temps too, with a single core 45nm low GHz cpu that wasn't overclocked.

  • well my shit was overclocked by 300MHz. and dual core

  • Doesn't mean much if you're running a 45nm instead of a 90nm chip. They both require completely different voltage settings, and thus create completely different levels of heat.

Tell you what, you post a video of you overclocking the 6400BE on a stock heatsink with no extra fans, and let me know if you can get lower temps than mine.

  • dude. my case only have a stock heatsink. artic silver 5/ 120mm rear fan, cpu fan, and psu fan and it ran cooler than that loud hunk of shit. what a waste of money and time. i can post the screenshots to prove it.

  • Obvious troll is obvious.

  • nice set up, but it would get dusty really fast

  • I does. I usually dust it out once a month. I should have put filters on the vents. *shrugs* Oh well, live and learn.

  • do you find that the cpu temp reading in pc probe is much higher than you might find in cpu-z/hwmonitor/coretemp?

  • Sometimes, yes. I think that coretemp is by far the most accurate way to monitor your CPU temp. It uses the on die temperature gauge and gives measurements in real time.

  • @brokenjohnny coretemp doesnt show any temps on my pc, might that be because it doesnt support my cpu or something? i got a 1055T

  • why is it that asus motherboard northbridge always seem to run hot they need to fix this shit.

  • I agree. I think it's ridiculous when I see hard core overclockers that have a water block on their north bridge.

  • @brokenjohnny

    Wow.....

    your rig sucks.

you have a vacuum inside your case? fail.

means less oxygen atoms to take away the heat.

  • @BKsMassive You must not understand what he meant but really all the case is doing is sucking in so much air that it causes a suction which keeps the computer cool because it is always taking in cool air. As to hot air rises(his top fan blows out... Its not really that hard to figure out.

  • @brokenjohnny What's wrong with having a waterblock on your NB? I have a Gigabyte X58A-UD7 which comes with a "free" waterblock for this exact purpose! With heavy overclocking (like 4.1ghz on i7 930) it's necessary if you like low temps and done want to sit next to a helicopter.

Sure beats a mess of fans passing hot air between each other...

  • Nice vacuum cleaner!:P

  • I never have to vacuum my floor. My computer sucks up all the dust in my room. *laughs*

  • @brokenjohnny Same here. I have a carpet aswell, which drains everything, so when you move, it gets in the air. I have to clean my 5 fans on the case about every 2 weeks at minimum because they are getting so hot :3

  • @brokenjohnny

    WTF?

you have like 5 fans blowing out air and none sucking in?

my antec 1200 have 12 fans!

    and liquid cooling ;)

  • 2 words.. cable management

  • The case is too small and there are too many cables to try to tie them together in neat little bundles. Trust me on that! *laughs*

  • You own the case, not me, so I won't argue on that one.

The temperatures are very good for an air cooled pc

  • @shigalbigal Not much I can do in the way of cable management in a mid tower case that has an over sized heatsink and two videocards. That's part of the reason why I wanted to install such high powered fans.

  • brokenjohnny,

what program is that that measures ur volts and temps?

    TIA

  • PcProbe. However, it doesn't work with all motherboards. I suggest something like CPU-Z to see what voltages and frequencies you're at.

But you can always try PcProbe and see if it works.

  • thanks

  • what if it gets so cool it actually gets cold and it freezes on the screen I would laugh my ass off!

  • Actually, that would be impossible. Microchips become more and more efficient as they become cooler. In order for electron migration to take place and crash the chip, you would have to cool it well past -100C. Chips function most efficiently when they are actually frozen. Google "prometia cooling". It's a cooling system that channels freezing vapors over your cpu, keeping them at sub zero temperatures!

  • whaT is the room temperature -10ºC? here in brasil nomaly my roo get to 30ºC

  • Uh... The Phenom II and the i7 Benchmark the same... Intel is great dont get me wrong... But its really neck and neck

  • I had to add some chains to the sides because the thing kept lifting off the desk! NASA called and told me it's pulling satellites out of their orbit!

  • Whops that side hole will suck dust as much as air ...

  • It sure does! I usually open the thing up and take a can of pressurized air to the inside. It get's dusty as hell after awhile.

I could easily fix that by adding a few filters, but too I'm lazy. *laughs*

  • lol AMD

  • What's wrong with AMD? They make great CPU's, and they're not over priced like an Intel based system.

Don't get me wrong, I like Intels as well. But what I really hate is the "fanboy" mentality where people think that whatever CPU they have is infinitely better than the alternative. Both AMD and Intel have their strengths and weaknesses.

Although AMD can't yet compete with Intel's i7 series. Those are AWESOME!

  • this ins´t the best aircooling my ist betther i have 3 230 mm fans 1 140mm fan and 2 120 with my v10 cooler ich have the coolermaster 932 best aircooling cas e on the market

  • Tell you what. You take an AMD 6400BE and put it into your case. Change the voltages in the bios to the same as mine, over clock it to 3.57, and then post your temperatures here.

THEN we'll see if your system is better than mine. But until then, you're all talk and no show.

  • sound like a jet fighter cool!

  • Fail.

  • If you don´t have filters, the dust will fuck your computer up.

  • not gonna lie, that's fucking awesome, would you recommend the 120 over the v8 by coolermaster? And what do you think about the duorb cpu cooler? I'm buying 1 soon for some serious air cooled cpu oc'ing :/

  • my reccomedation would go to the v8

not only does it look awesome but it beats the other coolers by a few degrees

  • wow put wings on that thing and it will fly! nice tempts though

  • I need to keep it tethered to my desk, otherwise it floats around the room.

I'm in talks with the US military to adapt my case to top secret aircraft designs.

I get noise complaints from the neighbors when I turn the fans on high.

NASA has been using my top case fan to launch satellites into orbit.

  • k thanks im gonna try that!

  • man it sounds like a jet engine xD but REALLY nice temperature and overclock tho!

  • i have i question, since air is being sucked in, doesn't that mean that dust is also sucked in an blown around you computer?

  • depends on the casing and your fans...

if ur fans had filters then you don't have a problem much...

if ur casing fan slot has filters , u dun have to

  • I don't have filters, and yes, my pc gets dusty as hell. I open it up once a month and use that "canned air" stuff to blow out all the dust.

  • you actually have 4 case coolers and another 2 on the processor radiator and 1 from the power supply; why don't you try to buy some hdd coolers also, i'm sure you'll find them a good place in the case :D and let me guess, when you upgrade your computer, you basically buy powerful coolers :P man, your pc sounds like you're preparing to take-off :D

  • mess

p.s. a fan blows the air 180 degrees what u want it to blow is to blow streight up

:( you might be right with that low pressure thing so fix that put some fan flow treightener ;)

  • sorten out your cables then i might not call you a fucking liar!

  • wtf? you're processor is 30 degress on idle while my processors idle is you're processors load temperature?

    Yours

    Idle:30 Degrees

    Mine

    Idle: 65-70 Degress -_- (Pentium 4)

  • Holy shit

    Sounds like a plane...

  • More like a jet!!!

I just turn up an episode of The Simpsons on my second monitor to drown it out. *laughs*

  • Hahahahaha !

  • lol, it sounds like a jet engine...

  • Hahahahaha
