can anyone tell me what the song is about i get its about somone dying but is there anymore to it?im having this played at my funeral i love it that much, easily their best song for me.
The manics for number one, instead of X factor and all that other industry pap. Please buy this single and join: Manics & Ian McCulloch for Christmas Number 1. Real Music! Facebook group.
If I'm being honest, I thought that this was one of the best tracks on the new album. With or without Richey, the Manics are a top quality band and have never lost the ability to write about subjects that matter instead of all the shite in the charts now.
This is great. No matter your opinion of the Manics, you cannot deny they are fearless, and always willing to take chances, unlike 95 percent of what passes for 'music' in this "the era of fascist numbskulls".
these things dont happen very often....just enjoy a collaboration of gods....jools show is about the only time you get great live music nowadays...watched this clip at least 20 times its fantastic
I can never understand why arguments happen on here. Ian McCulloch and the Manics are performing together, which suggests a high level of mutual respect, which everyone else should have
@timcardy123 Hew don't call Bradfield fat, he's a way better singer than Ian & always will be................. 3:15 is funny shows how bad he actually is
@wolves4life93 agreed, Mac's voice is shot, he can't even remember the words to his own songs, never mind this pile of shite.
To say the fat plumber is a good singer is ludicrous. But if there was no McCulloch, there'd be no Manics, there's a thought.
And the drummer wears leather gloves, another reason to despise them. I still can't believe no one's mentioned that missing bloke yet, the only thing that adds any interest to this group. (Not to me though.)
@timcardy123 Hmm, clearly you aren't a fan of the Manic Street Preachers, fine, but your reference to one of their band mates as 'that missing bloke' is pretty spiteful and your statement that this band are devoid without Richey Edwards is ignorant
@timcardy123 Well, I don't agree with your point at all....with Richey Edwards, they had the abiltiy to sing about challenging subjects from anorexia to the Americanisation of countries etc Maybe you're not that into rock music, I assume
@oogie11 no hes into commenting on videos he "doesn't like" cos he has nothing better to do, which is fairly sad really. hes a britpop fan i would assume, hes got the intelligence of one anyway.. ye richie had a mccullough hair do? that isn't as bad as straight up ripping off dave bowie like the bunnymen did
@robmanic Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion...everyone likes different bands, and of course, some people will dislike the Manic Street Preachers in the same way that I really dislike Phil Collins etc...Richey's hairdo is cool to me, I've always liked it, hmm...ha ha, aaah, well, if you're going to rip off someone, may as well be Bowie ha ha, well, I like all of them, Bowie, Bunnymen and Manics :)
I have been a fan of the Manics since I saw them play in 1992, and have seen them many times live, but watching this utter crap is beyond disappointing. I do not have any idea what they're trying to achieve with this. The backing singers, digging up IanMcCulloch, the MOR leaning sound, and the weakness of the performance. Sorry guys, you have lost your way entirely....
I fucking love Ian McCulloch. Not as much as l love the Manics, though. The ONLY problem with this performance is that it doesn't as big as it should, but that's just down to production.
I'm sure Ian and the Manics have alot of mutual respect, so everyone just stop bitching
Ian is about a million times cooler than anyone else on that stage and he can make a decent band like MSP seem cool just by simply being in their general vicinity. I love the hurling of vituperative comments at Mac.... yeah right guys. No , actually you're all right I too wish Mac were more like that dorky Squiggy clone from Laverne and Shirley dancing around the stage.
@timcardy123 fat shouting guitarist? oh you mean the singer with 10 albums with MSP and his own solo album? your just making yourself look a fool mate
@KardiffFan99 " oh you mean the singer with 10 albums with MSP and his own solo album?" Its all about quality not quantity.......ask your girlfriend....if you have one.
@KardiffFan99 ....so, the fat fuck has made plenty of albums, so has Phil fucking Collins, what's your point? And you're a Cardiff fan, says it all. Cock.

The MSP can only dream of having the credibility that the Bunnymen had in their prime. What's with the feather boa's and the gloved drummer?
