i have absolute respect for m kawasoe, he graded my shodan. however i wonder about the applications, he knows the real ones no doubt . why not throw in a couple at some stage to whet the apprection of skill.....
Started training in 74 for sensei Ted Hedlund (Swe) and have trained (shortly) for a lot of the senseis (Enoeda, Kawasoe, Shirai, Kase) meaning Chrystal Palace sort of camps. My first japanese (also a week) was sensei Kase (1975, maybe). He was based in Britain. Anyone know what happened to him?
Unfortunately, Kase Sensei passed away in 2003. :( If you mean Sensei Kato, then I think he moved back to Tokyo...
I am envious of those great senseis you have been able to train with. I consider myself very lucky to have been able to train with Shirai Sensei twice in the last 2 years, but never had the opportunity to train with any of the others you mention. :(
If you have more sensei Kawasoe material please post.
This guy keeps developing his karate and has grown alot in the 17 years since I started training. If you get a chance to train with I would recommend it.
The speed with he can deliver hard strikes is amazing and not just with force but great body dynamics.
DAMN...those are Good!

Kawasoe is so good. His technique is clean and sharp. Great sensei. I would love to train with him some time

Sounds like Terry O'Neill narrating. Always reminds me of a slightly deeper-voiced John Lennon.

This is not true bunkai, but reverse engineered application.
