I think their disconnect happens a LOT from disagreements in vocabulary or use of vocabulary. In the end the mean the same, but go about describing it in totally different words. (Usually in ways that seem contradictory)

If schools are censoring this information I think we need a new avenue. Some way that isn't state-controlled, a grassroots group that can come by invite only to a venue and teach evolution...so that they can't be fired for it or dragged in front of their boss and reprimanded for educating people....we need to take a chapter from the book of the religious and get dynamic about 'sneaking' evolutionary instruction into the lives of our school age kids!

Dan Dennett's book 'Darwin's dangerous idea' was very useful to me in getting a basic understanding of evolution. I read it a few years ago and I don't admire it now as much as I once did but still it is a very good start for anyone interested in evolution. Another must read is Darwin's 'Origin of Species.'

Descent with modification (a core tenet) has been demonstrated empirically.

Darwinism is not synonymous with evolution.

So you have to ask what is more probable.

That the religious misinterpret their own scriptures, or that god got it wrong.

You can not question the integrity of religion without questioning the integrity of the method of science.

Faith Healing=Illusion, Chi Gong=Relaxation (wich is in fact an important aspect). Relaxation is a known phenomenon, Faith Healing is not.

That animal needs to die in lava or a tar-pit or in a mud-slide for their bones to fossilise. When you're driving & u see a roadblock, do you say "the road is fake"? No! The road is real, despite a temporary block. A gap in a chain does not disprove the logic of the chain. What you need to disprove Evolution is NOT another "missing link". Even with a permanent gap, the rest of the fossil record fits. What u need is 1 fossil in the wrong place. U need a Tyrannosaurus fossil in the era of Moses. You need to find a horse fossil in the era where Evolution says there was only cell- life.
