I think you're looking at this the wrong way. Simply because currency has been a state thing, does not mean it always must be. Let's assume the US collapses (which is getting less and less far fetched by the day) and takes the dollar with it. What then? Local regions will come up with a means of trading, be it the tally stick system or a regional currency based on the cash crop of the region (as tobacco was in the colonies).

There's no need for a state, let alone a state currency.

Perhaps you are not aware, but the dollar is not a state or government currency. In 1913 your Congress gave control of the dollar to a cartel of private bankers called the Federal Reserve. The Fed is privately owned and completely independent of gov.

This is contrary to your Constitution which states that only the people (in the form of their reps in Congress) shall have the right to create and regulate a currency.
