  • In any of the Christmas tree fire videos the comments are always about not leaving lights on when you're not home. The real issue isn't the lights it's a dry tree. Even if this room had 10 people in there the results would be the same. Once the tree ignited the people would not have had time to do anything but run like hell

  • ВАЖНО!

  • this is sad even if it isnt real.:(

  • I can't help but think that the song in the background just adds insult to injury

  • And this is why electric christmas lights should be banned.

My household has not used electric lights for about 15 years. They are not worth the risk.

  • @Ratonga : No, they should be inspected and tested every year. Heck, any bad electrical connection in your house can do this, anything plugged into a wall outlet. Test the lights before you get them on the tree. And...LED lights don't matter. It's still electricity, and electrical shorts in any wires can do the exact same thing.

  • @Ratonga back to candles then

  • Why do I feel like this was created in After Effects?

  • @ydools because you're a paranoid conspiracy theorist?

  • 0:01 lighter

  • Is it possible for me to use this YouTube video to make my GCSE ICT video for coursework, it is about fire safety, and when I have finished it, I will even send it to you, so you can see it, if I can have an email address, or I can just place it here on Facebook

  • Do what I did and use LED ones instead.

  • This music is creepy

  • LOL i bet the bunnys burned by now

  • SAVE THE BUNNY

  • FAKE!

  • amazingly scary. worrying about the bunny!

  • And the room is engulfed before anyone knows, the house is engulfed by the time the fire department gets there, and now youre out of luck.

  • I was present during this test.

The tree was not dry, (lets say it was medium) a greener tree would have still gone up but with a slower start.

If anything the test shows the effects of radiant heat and the fast buildup of smoke in a typical house.

No accelerants were used anywhere in the house.

  • actually in a 0:59 seconds xD

  • merry christmas! :)

  • Cute.

  • Photoshop!

  • What is the betting that this tree is old, dried and the sort that would have been thrown out a couple of weeks earlier by most people? I checked with the Ministry, They have al sorts of statistics about fires caused by electric blankets, portable heaters and so on, but nothing on Christmas trees, present wrapping etc.

So what we have here is classic fear mongering.

Simple, don't be an idiot, and things should be fine.

Fed up to the back teeth with this sort of "You will die" type message

  • @gawaintowler "sort that would have been thrown out a couple of weeks earlier by most people", exactally, most people, cant you see the point of this? there are some people that would not think like this.

  • fakel chrismast )))

  • fakel )))

  • Holy cow! 0_0

That's why I don't use any fake trees... Smart...

  • buy a fake christmas tree...

  • @manneke150 Thank god, I always have a fake one, I'll make sure never to buy a real one, haha!!

  • ...

  • Close all internal doors. If their was a fire this would contain the fire for a period of time, allowing a small amount of smoke to seep under the door and activate your smoke alarm, and leaving your escape route (hallway/stairway) clear. If your alarm does activate 'DO NOT' investigate, Get out! Stay out! Call the Fire Service out!

  • It's unbelievably fast - Can't believe how the lamp just melts in seconds...

  • as well as Gazoor's suggestion, keep doors shut at night, so that air won't circulate; if you have a fire it will stay smaller for longer.

  • Follow these steps to mainatin the moisture within the tree:

    1. Pick a place for the tree, away from all heat sources

    2. With a straight cut remove between 1/2" and 1" from the bottom of the tree

    3. Place a plastic sheet down to protect the carpet etc. from water, cover with a cloth for decorative purposes

    4. Place the tree in a suitable stand with a water capacity of 3 - 4litres

    5. Check the water level twice daily and top up as necessary

    6. A mist spray is useful in addition to above
