Everyone knows that the Deathstar is not a planet...and ST has an animated series and lots of games. Both are great sci-fi franchises, but EVERYONE knows that SW is most watched by children and. ST for adults. So, if you only want to watch a fun movie, watch SW. If you want to watch something that will make your brains work a bit, go ST.
I really do agree with you on all this but I have to correct you on two things: Death Star is a man-made satellite and not a planet. Star Trek did had an animated series back in the late 60s and 70s by Filmation (they also made He-Man & the Masters of the Universe). I also have to add with your point about costume that everyone in Star Trek dresses the SAME UNIFORM, which is why their version of the future is a collective utopian socialism.
I always hated topics like these. Like Imperator said, to each his own... Besides what's wrong with enjoying both for exactly what they are? Both have made good ( and bad ) moments on camera, both have rich history and wonderful music. But they are very different in depictions of fantasy. Star Wars has 1 animated movie, and 2 animated shows, also there is a new Star Wars series in the works. It's expected to come out in 2010, and uses real actors, not animation.
Funny about the videogames of Star Trek, all the ones for the NES really suck, try watching "The Angry Video Game Nerd" on those games. SW games are well-known and much better than Star Trek games.
Transporters and Warpdrives are impossible thanks to Quantum Physics.
Some more facts about the Star Trek games that I found out, they all suck. There is only 1 genre of game in terms of Star Trek, and it's Strategy. It's all about controlling ships and make them destroy the enemy. No platformers, FPS, RPG, or anything else. SW has games like Force Unleashed for Platformer, Battlefront series for FPS, KOTOR1,2,3 for RPG....and are just generally better.
Eh. Bottom line.. Star Trek has more video games than Star Wars. And more movies. And more TV series.

I really do agree with you on all this but I have to correct you on two things: Death Star is a man-made satellite and not a planet. Star Trek did had an animated series back in the late 60s and 70s by Filmation (they also made He-Man & the Masters of the Universe). I also have to add with your point about costume that everyone in Star Trek dresses the SAME UNIFORM, which is why their version of the future is a collective utopian socialism.

I always hated topics like these. Like Imperator said, to each his own... Besides what's wrong with enjoying both for exactly what they are? Both have made good ( and bad ) moments on camera, both have rich history and wonderful music. But they are very different in depictions of fantasy. Comparing star wars and star trek is like.. comparing john carpenters vampires to interview with a vampire... only thing in common is vampires, only thing st and sw have in common is.... space.

The species, weapons, ships, villains, and heros have evolved to a point were they are really cool now. The original show didn't have enough money do all these fancy props so they just did what they could with what they had. Btw anikin was not a hero until the last movie... in which he killed the emperor.

Having an animated film doesn't make it better. It just means they were too cheap to higher back the actors and other new people.
And Star Trek has numerous video games beginning with the NES all the way up to the DS, so far.. and on other platforms, as well. Perhaps you should look them up before making an ignorant statement like that.
And Star Trek has technology and ideas that we can actually apply to this world to make it a better place to live. WTF would we need a Death Star for?

Star Wars has 1 animated movie, and 2 animated shows, also there is a new Star Wars series in the works. It's expected to come out in 2010, and uses real actors, not animation.
Funny about the videogames of Star Trek, all the ones for the NES really suck, try watching "The Angry Video Game Nerd" on those games. SW games are well-known and much better than Star Trek games.
Transporters and Warpdrives are impossible thanks to Quantum Physics.

Some more facts about the Star Trek games that I found out, they all suck. There is only 1 genre of game in terms of Star Trek, and it's Strategy. It's all about controlling ships and make them destroy the enemy. No platformers, FPS, RPG, or anything else. SW has games like Force Unleashed for Platformer, Battlefront series for FPS, KOTOR1,2,3 for RPG....and are just generally better.

Transporters and Warpdrive aren't impossible. They're improbable. At least for right now. We don't have the technology for them.
And Star Wars' Hyperdrive is unrealistic. At light speed, it would take thousands of years to travel outside of the galaxy to see it. And hundreds of years for distant planets.
But since you're obviously smarter than me (not sarcasm), I won't say anything else.

Star Wars has 11 movies (6 you know of, 1 Clone Wars, 2 Ewok, and 2 other). Funny thing, without a company Lucas made (ILM), you wouldn't have the greatest ST films.

Roddenberry's canon doesn't include most of them(around 2 total). Star Wars has 4-5 series.
