@SpeedDemon46 I agree that HE IS AMAZING--and he should have won the OSCAR for BEST ACTOR for Gladiator---he 'made' the movie---he was cruel, insecure, evil, scared, lonely, depraved, etc, etc, and only Phoenix could make Commodus real! Without his character, Gladiator would simply have been a story of 'revenge'...I think it's his greatest performance and one that no other actor would have pulled off so BRILLIANTLY

yeah... he can't talk at the beggining... and then she can't talk at the end. This movie was not well recieved but I think it's a really notorious film... It has flaws, of course, but it has so many inspiring scenes, beautifully written, performed and directed.

I love Luscious's reaction @ 2:09. He's like WHAT? married?. we've never even kissed lol. i love how he finally speaks up to let her know that, he's going to do what he wants and has to do, on his terms!!!! i love despite how courageous everyone thinks he is. he admits to ivy that her in harm is what he fears. basically telling her that he loves and cares about her. i especially love that out of his free choosing, he agrees to marry her, by agreeing to dance with her on their wedding night!!! :)

the only movie Shyamalan did that I think was bad at all was "The Happening", and I don't even think that was his fault! His writing in this scene is very believable and romantic. Marky Mark and whatsherface just couldn't pull it off in the Happening: they had no chemistry.

I don't understand how M. Night Shyamalan can write genius like 3:04 - 3:40 but then struggle with the dialog and character portrayal in "The Happening"(which had HORRIBLE dialog and some of the worst acting I have ever seen) and "The Last Air Bender"(which had even worse dialog and WORSE acting). The only explination I have is that this entire scene is just ad-lib and improve on Phoneix's part, and none of these powerful lines were in the actual script(just genius acting alone on his part)

Shyamalan's movies have plenty of flaws, but I've seen few directors that manage to bring out such outstanding performances in his actors and actresses time and time again. Howard and Phoenix are really the heart and soul of this film.

I love Bryce as an actress and this movie absolutely kicks ass... but Bryce just looks to sweet to want to kill Bella and the Cullens! :-)

This is my favorite scene from The Village. It's one of my favorite scenes all time. Bryce Dallas Howard completely stole this movie. And Joaquin Phoenix was great in it, also.

Despite all conventional expectation or interpretation, this movie was a love story. And I believe that was the intention. Everything else was just dressing.
