The GOP is all fluff and fight but no anawers! Its easy to stand on the side and throw rocks when you don't have ideas. They use broad terms but never offer any real detail solutions to anything. Now the GOP have the House and have to govern and what have they done...NOTHING! Where are the jobs? where are the magic bills that fix everything by cutting taxes on the rich and taking benefits from the poorest of the poor. There solutions are to lower the taxes on the rich, raise the taxes on the poor and middle class, export jobs overseas, lower EPA standards, ensure Americans don't get affordable healthcare, foreclose more homes, pretend to be against abortion...

It makes me feel a a lot better than a pres. who broke every campaign promise ever made - transparency (signing bills before they're read), most ethical admin. ever (appoints tax cheats & crooks), tax cuts for the middle class (not in budget/cap & trade), no lobbyists (duh?), no earmarks (about 8,000). Bush didn't promise to keep lobbyists out of his administration. BO did. Broken Promise!
It's not a tax cut if the tax code doesn't change and you still have to pay the same amount of tax at the end of the day. Broken Promis
Well he is former president of New York Federal Bank.
"The mess in NO is on their Mayor and Gov."
The buck stops on the president's desk so to speak and the president (Bush) at the time appointed a former head of Arabian horse association as head of FEMA.
As for Obama's promises, i like the promises he keeps so far.
You have to quit going back to Bush. Bush is not the president any more. I didn't care for him because he expanded governement and spent too much money. He def. was not a conservative. The most liberal "republican" ever. I don't care what bush did, what I care about is what this president is doing.
What promises has he kept that you like? I'd be interested to hear because you seem intelligent and rational, so unlike most I speak to on this subject.
You asked: "What promises has he kept that you like?"
He kept his promise just by being an intelligent speaker (Teleprompter notwithstanding).
Please pardon me for bringing Bush again but after his malapropisms it's good to have someone who can articulate ideas eloquently whether you agree with him or not.
The bills Obama signed like Fair Pay Act and SCHIP expansion are also things that i like.
By FEMA, if you're referring to Katrina, I live on the Gulf Coast. MS was descimated by Kat. AL too. They had a stellar disaster plan in place and their Gov's requested help immediately from the Pres. States have to ASK for federal assistance. The mess in NO is on their Mayor and Gov. That's why Jindal is Gov. there now. Their leadership was incompetent and unprepared despite YEARS of warning what a cat 5 would do to NO.
I also must point out that Clinton didn't spend staggering amounts of money in his first 100 days of office (more than all the administration spending combined from George Washington thru George Bush) throwing our Country into decades worth of debt and deficit. If he had, we would still be digging our way out. Now it's just our children, grand children and great grandchildren that will have to do it.
BO inherited the housing crises from his own party starting w/the Fair Housing Act under Clinton, the Republicans have warned about the housing crisis since 2001 but slobbering Barney Frank and Maxine Waters INSISTED that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were stable fighting against governance and oversight, even applauding their governance. You tend to forget that the last 2 years of the Bush Admin have been under control of the dems. That's why the bank collapse & the dems bailed the banks out.
Where's your reply on my rebuttal of the need for Indonesians to speak English when our own citizens can't read and our education system is in crisis? This is pointless. You are going to get the socialism you so richly deserve. I have no problem with freedom of choice, live and let live, etc. I have a problem when the government wants to be so big that it controls everyone's life. That is not what this country was founded on. Our founders came here to get away from that!
Can we say "nationalized healthcare"? If you think that isn't going to control what services you have access to, YOU are misinformed. Look at the VA If a Veteran doesn't like his glucose monitor, he can't get a prescription for one he/she does want. Small example. And not everyone who is going to be included in that healthcare system is going to be an AMERICAN. Amnesty for illegals who are breaking AMERICAN LAWS? You and I wouldn't get a pass on that, unless you aren't American.
BTW, healthcare is not a Constitutional Right. Healthcare is a priviledge. The only role government has in our lives is protecting our rights and our safety. Perhaps you should read it. Under COBRA, no one who goes to a hospital can be denied healthcare. In my community there is Medicaid, All Kids, free, non-profit primary health clinics, clinics for the homeless. Free prescription benefits. No one is without access to healthcare in this country (befor you get on your soapbox again)
Nancy Pelosi and her puppet president are pushing for Amnesty for illegals in immigration reform. You can have any surgery or treatment at a level 5 trauma center or university hospital that is federally and/or state funded and your treatment is written off as a loss. You can also negotiate payments at a reduced cost. Not everything is free nor should it be. In addition, if you have THAT low of an income that you can't afford $10 per month in payments, you are probably already on Medicaid.
You said: "Nancy Pelosi and her puppet president are pushing for Amnesty for illegals in immigration reform."
Is this already happened?
"You can have any surgery or treatment at a level 5 trauma center or university hospital that is federally and/or state funded and your treatment is written off as a loss."
How about extended treatment like chemo or medicine for AIDS or MS?
BTW health care doesn't have to be free, it just have to be AFFORDABLE FOR EVERY CITIZEN.
It hasn't happened yet, but Nancy was out in CA telling illegals how they are "true patriots" and rallying her cause. I'm sure they'll push immigration reform through on one of those overnight, no earmark bills they love so much.
Lalee, you aren't going to get me on healthcare. I have been in the diabetes industry for years and I own my own business in healthcare. Most who require extended treatment ie dialysis are disabled and have Medicare and Medicaid. Same for MS, Cancer and Aids. One of my best friends died of AIDS in TN in 2001. He was on TennCare (medicaid) that paid for all of his treatment, meds AND hospice. He also benefited from non-profits which your hero wants to now tax via no more deductions.
Check out the Netherlands' nationalized healthcare where Care is FREE-- dialysis stops at age 65 and you are not eligible for a kidney transplant. See ya! (But think of the savings!!) Is that what you really would like in this country? The government decides what treatment your eligible for?
BTW, my husband wants to know if you're my new BFF or something! LOL
You're missing the point. It IS affordable for everyone. 40% of those without insurance make over $55k a year and invest in some form of 401k or IRA's so there is some choice/risk that healthy people are making. However, there are also HSA's that they typically invest in and they are excellent savings vehicls if not used for medical treatment. My point is, everyone has access to affordable or free healthcare and if they can't afford it, we have medicaid and medicare.
Do those people, the minority, justify the government dictating healthcare to the majority? Like I said, under COBRA, no one can be denied coverage at a hospital. They negotiate their payments. I've had to do it in my lifetime. We have health departments, nonprofit groups that help, churches and communities. Are we supposed to provide free daycare for people who can't afford it? Are we supposed to provide free transporation? Are we supposed to provide free utilities? Where does it stop?
The line has to be drawn. Free, free, free doesn't encourage any sort of effort, any work ethic, any entreprenuership, any enterprise. It simply encourages dependence on government. This became the greatest country on earth, not because of dependence on government, but because of dependence on oneself, belief in ones abilities, community involvement, charitable organizations, effort and enterprise. We are moving toward complete governement dependence and the mundane.
I agree that we cant give everything away but keep people health is important and I think that starts with the way people are raised in this country! There are to many fat, over weight parents that do nothing but feed thier kids McDonalds and all that and then expect someone else to pay their way, thats bullshit! You need to realize that preventative care is unheard of in this country UNLESS you have insurance or A LOT of money! And dont say you walked into a private hospital and got free care,
Thats total bullshit and you know it! I have a lot of family in healthcare and that would NEVER happen! They only way you get free healthcare is from a county or state hospital and you have to live on the street pretty much for it to be free! If you have something, anything to give them to pay they want it so stop lying like all you republicans do saying you got free healthcare wherever you wanted cause thats all it is, a FLAT OUT LIE!
My insurance doesn't cover everything, but if I need something that isn't covered, I save for it, I plan for it, I talk to my doctors about it and work out a way to cover it. Most every doctor and healthcare facility I have ever known does not want to deny treatment and they work with you. 2 out of 4 hospitals in my area are non-profit. They write it off. The third is a University Hospital that can't deny anything to anyone because they're federally and state funded.
And just one more thing to point out how retarded you ate! How do you plan for cancer when doctors wont diagnose you cause they are afraid of a malpractice suit? How do you plan for getting in a car accident and loosing a limb? How do you plan for anything like that, that can happen tomorrow without notice? Stay off of youtube unless your not going to speak about things you know NOTHING about! PLEASE!
You see, healthcare IS AFFORDABLE for everyone already. You can't deny that and this administration wants to make everything available a lie in order to push through 1 of the items on the 40 liberal wish list.
Where are you from? There are no words to describe how stupid you are! I called you a republican before I even knew you were cause all your doing right now is repeating the conservative talking points! Stop watching BillO the Clown, Hannity and Fow Noise period, they dont give a fuck about you, ONLY RATINGS! I really wish people would go out and try to educate themselves when it comes to things like this, the media is clueless and isnt talking about facts, just opinions and that is a fact!
I like the language. Sign of limited vocabulary. You think Obama cares about you? I can't wait until you get what you voted for. Change is coming alright! It just won't be the change anyone wants. You're right, CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, Washington Post, NBC are all clueless. You obviously have nothing useful or constructive to say. Go back to your anger, you got what you wanted. Have you read the Constitution lately and studied how our country was intended to be? Education yourself.
You forgot fox noise and how clueless they are! You can use my language as a cop-out, thats fine! You know everything you said here was a lie and everything I said was the truth, and a fact! I'm not repeating republicants talking points like a puppet, like you! And I have read the constitution, you really want to go down that road as a conservative? Remember who changed our constitution so he could listen to people having phone sex, HE WASNT A DEMOCRAT! Dumb, there are no other words!
The point to this discussion I am having with you about healthcare is this - we have the best healthcare system in the world, despite it's flaws. If the governement wants to extend medicaid and medicare programs beyond what it already is, I have no problem with that. What I DO have a problem with is the govt. dictating healthcare for everyone and using my tax dollars to do it when I'm opposed to it. That isn't freedom, that's an infringement of my rights and the rights of healthcare workers.
Does that not make sense to you? Canadians come to America for treatment and procedures they can't get in Canada because the Govt. DICTATES what they can and can't have. They also have to wait MONTHS for treatments and in many cases, that treatment comes too late. When I'm 70 and need a knee replacement I don't want to be told I'm not eligible because I only have so many productive years left. Is that what you want for Americans? That's rationing healthcare. How can that be good?
Actually, when the housing buble that the Clinton Admin created with their Fair Housing Act burst (as the republicans have been warning about since 2001) I repositioned myself and came out very nicely. I knew with the Democrats in control during the last 2 years of the Bush Admin, and a far left extremist president coming in, what happened in the stock market was inevitible. Vote of no confidence in the market, and spend, spend, spend!
Instead of "shovel ready" jobs that the Obama administration speaks of, we need to use resources for training workers to secure our border, FIRST. This would 1) Open additional jobs during the recession which would protect our economy and national security 2) Help secure our country from the violence and illicit drug trafficking from south of our border.
Our national security and economy are being compromised by our open border with Mexico, especially now with the lawlessness creeping over the border; we need the fence to be completed and greatly expanded manpower on the border immediately.
eks56 are you serious? have read any of the legislation that congress has pout forth and that obama has supported? it's ridiculous. we're going to be in trillions of dollars worth of debt. so much for the fiscal responsibility he promised.
i am by no means reach, but if you did even a minute's worth of research, you'd know that the rich, even though they are the smallest tax bracket, pay a majority of this country's taxes. why should they be taxed even more just because they are successful?
eke56..You evidently take everything you hear at face value and obviously do not question or reason for yourself. There is a lot of blame to go around for sure but Congressman Boehner is one of the most honest and service oriented individuals this country has. Your lanquage and tired old talking points reveal your ignorance of the issues at hand and the intended and unintended consequences of any action be it finacial or personal. I did not say you were stupid, but you are obviously ignorant.
I'm not rich and powerful but I pay my taxes and play by the rules. I don't resent or object to someone making a lot of money, I applaud it. These are the individuals who create jobs and pay 90% of the taxes that pay for the government and what it does. Are you on the government tit, or are you just angry because you take no initiative to better yourself and be productive?
Excellent job Senator John Boehner. Your right there needs to be a do over... BIG TIME. Glad you are from my state of Ohio. Your voice is being heard.
Representative Boeher-- Thank you for serving us so well. You are a capable, trustworthy statesman. Please tell others to veto this budget. I'm getting SO FRUSTRATED by the use of our tax $. The administration and elements in congress act like we don't exist. They are risking our lifestyles and our very lives. I'm SO ANGRY! Why do others believe in Obama and his cohorts???
John Boehner is a great and trustworthy leader, as is Congressman Cantor. John Boehner needs to lead the GOP out of this mess that the liberals and Democrats have created.
He needs to come to my state. My friends and I would campaign for him. We are tired of the Democrats policies! They are breaking our constitutional laws!
The GOP is all fluff and fight but no anawers! Its easy to stand on the side and throw rocks when you don't have ideas. They use broad terms but never offer any real detail solutions to anything.

You said: "I also must point out that Clinton didn't spend staggering amounts of money in his first 100 days of office."
Clinton didn't inherit TWO WARS and COLLAPSED BANKS BAILOUT from the previous administration.
laleeloolelo 2 years ago
BO inherited the housing crises from his own party starting w/the Fair Housing Act under Clinton, the Republicans have warned about the housing crisis since 2001 but slobbering Barney Frank and Maxine Waters INSISTED that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were stable fighting against governance and oversight, even applauding their governance. You tend to forget that the last 2 years of the Bush Admin have been under control of the dems. That's why the bank collapse & the dems bailed the banks out.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
You said: "BO inherited the housing crises from his own party starting w/the Fair Housing Act under Clinton."
I find that ironic because you said this later: "You tend to forget that the last 2 years of the Bush Admin have been under control of the dems."
Well Annie, don't you remember THE GOP RAN CONGRESS FROM 1994 TO 2006?
Why didn't they do anything about "Fair Housing Act" besides warning?
BTW where's your reply on my rebuttal of Reaganomics?
laleeloolelo 2 years ago
Where's your reply on my rebuttal of the need for Indonesians to speak English when our own citizens can't read and our education system is in crisis? This is pointless. You are going to get the socialism you so richly deserve. I have no problem with freedom of choice, live and let live, etc. I have a problem when the government wants to be so big that it controls everyone's life. That is not what this country was founded on. Our founders came here to get away from that!
anniemoon08 2 years ago
You said: "I have a problem when the government wants to be so big that it controls everyone's life."
Huh?
What part of ANY bill Obama or democratic party proposed which "controls everyone's life"?
Sure they cost a lot of money but they are spent ON AMERICANS and they are not taking anyone's constitutional rights.
If the state don't want it they can reject it, but if they do accept it then they have to accept the term of how they will use the money.
Isn't that fair?

Can we say "nationalized healthcare"? If you think that isn't going to control what services you have access to, YOU are misinformed. Look at the VA If a Veteran doesn't like his glucose monitor, he can't get a prescription for one he/she does want. Small example. And not everyone who is going to be included in that healthcare system is going to be an AMERICAN. Amnesty for illegals who are breaking AMERICAN LAWS? You and I wouldn't get a pass on that, unless you aren't American.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
BTW, healthcare is not a Constitutional Right. Healthcare is a priviledge. The only role government has in our lives is protecting our rights and our safety. Perhaps you should read it. Under COBRA, no one who goes to a hospital can be denied healthcare. In my community there is Medicaid, All Kids, free, non-profit primary health clinics, clinics for the homeless. Free prescription benefits. No one is without access to healthcare in this country (befor you get on your soapbox again)
anniemoon08 2 years ago
You asked: "Amnesty for illegals who are breaking AMERICAN LAWS?"
Huh?
What part of ANY bill Obama or democratic party proposed which give "Amnesty for illegals who are breaking AMERICAN LAWS"?
"Free prescription benefits. No one is without access to healthcare in this country"
Are they free from the cost if they need expensive surgery or treatment?
Just because people have access doesn't mean people can afford to pay for it afterward.
laleeloolelo 2 years ago
Nancy Pelosi and her puppet president are pushing for Amnesty for illegals in immigration reform. You can have any surgery or treatment at a level 5 trauma center or university hospital that is federally and/or state funded and your treatment is written off as a loss. You can also negotiate payments at a reduced cost. Not everything is free nor should it be. In addition, if you have THAT low of an income that you can't afford $10 per month in payments, you are probably already on Medicaid.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
You said: "Nancy Pelosi and her puppet president are pushing for Amnesty for illegals in immigration reform."
Is this already happened?
"You can have any surgery or treatment at a level 5 trauma center or university hospital that is federally and/or state funded and your treatment is written off as a loss."
How about extended treatment like chemo or medicine for AIDS or MS?
BTW health care doesn't have to be free, it just have to be AFFORDABLE FOR EVERY CITIZEN.
laleeloolelo 2 years ago
It hasn't happened yet, but Nancy was out in CA telling illegals how they are "true patriots" and rallying her cause. I'm sure they'll push immigration reform through on one of those overnight, no earmark bills they love so much.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
Lalee, you aren't going to get me on healthcare. I have been in the diabetes industry for years and I own my own business in healthcare. Most who require extended treatment ie dialysis are disabled and have Medicare and Medicaid. Same for MS, Cancer and Aids. One of my best friends died of AIDS in TN in 2001. He was on TennCare (medicaid) that paid for all of his treatment, meds AND hospice. He also benefited from non-profits which your hero wants to now tax via no more deductions.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
Check out the Netherlands' nationalized healthcare where Care is FREE-- dialysis stops at age 65 and you are not eligible for a kidney transplant. See ya! (But think of the savings!!) Is that what you really would like in this country? The government decides what treatment your eligible for?
BTW, my husband wants to know if you're my new BFF or something! LOL
anniemoon08 2 years ago
You said: "Most who require extended treatment ie dialysis are disabled and have Medicare and Medicaid."
Does this mean there are some who require extended treatment but not covered by Medicare and Medicaid?
"Check out the Netherlands' nationalized healthcare where Care is FREE."
How about Canada?
Like i said it doesn't have to be free it just have to be AFFORDABLE FOR EVERY CITIZEN.
"BTW, my husband wants to know if you're my new BFF or something!"
How flattering.

My point is, everyone has access to affordable or free healthcare and if they can't afford it, we have medicaid and medicare.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
You said: "My point is, everyone has access to affordable or free healthcare and if they can't afford it, we have medicaid and medicare."
What about people who are not poor enough for medicare or medicaid but whose health insurance doesn't cover their health problems or treatments?
That's how people can become poor or bankrupt through lack of national health care coverage.
laleeloolelo 2 years ago
Do those people, the minority, justify the government dictating healthcare to the majority? Like I said, under COBRA, no one can be denied coverage at a hospital. They negotiate their payments. I've had to do it in my lifetime. We have health departments, nonprofit groups that help, churches and communities. Are we supposed to provide free daycare for people who can't afford it? Are we supposed to provide free transporation? Are we supposed to provide free utilities? Where does it stop?
anniemoon08 2 years ago
The line has to be drawn. Free, free, free doesn't encourage any sort of effort, any work ethic, any entreprenuership, any enterprise. It simply encourages dependence on government. This became the greatest country on earth, not because of dependence on government, but because of dependence on oneself, belief in ones abilities, community involvement, charitable organizations, effort and enterprise. We are moving toward complete governement dependence and the mundane.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
You said: "The line has to be drawn. Free, free, free doesn't encourage any sort of effort, any work ethic, any entreprenuership, any enterprise."
I want health care to be AFFORDABLE FOR EVERY CITIZEN not free.
If you think the one already exists is affordable that is your opinion, my opinion is it can be MORE AFFORDABLE for MORE PEOPLE.
If you don't like government dictating healthcare then just don't take it but if you do beggars can't be choosers so to speak.
laleeloolelo 2 years ago
I agree that we cant give everything away but keep people health is important and I think that starts with the way people are raised in this country! There are to many fat, over weight parents that do nothing but feed thier kids McDonalds and all that and then expect someone else to pay their way, thats bullshit! You need to realize that preventative care is unheard of in this country UNLESS you have insurance or A LOT of money! And dont say you walked into a private hospital and got free care,
craigg1981 2 years ago
Thats total bullshit and you know it! I have a lot of family in healthcare and that would NEVER happen! They only way you get free healthcare is from a county or state hospital and you have to live on the street pretty much for it to be free! If you have something, anything to give them to pay they want it so stop lying like all you republicans do saying you got free healthcare wherever you wanted cause thats all it is, a FLAT OUT LIE!
craigg1981 2 years ago
My insurance doesn't cover everything, but if I need something that isn't covered, I save for it, I plan for it, I talk to my doctors about it and work out a way to cover it. Most every doctor and healthcare facility I have ever known does not want to deny treatment and they work with you. 2 out of 4 hospitals in my area are non-profit. They write it off. The third is a University Hospital that can't deny anything to anyone because they're federally and state funded.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
And just one more thing to point out how retarded you ate! How do you plan for cancer when doctors wont diagnose you cause they are afraid of a malpractice suit? How do you plan for getting in a car accident and loosing a limb? How do you plan for anything like that, that can happen tomorrow without notice? Stay off of youtube unless your not going to speak about things you know NOTHING about! PLEASE!
craigg1981 2 years ago
You see, healthcare IS AFFORDABLE for everyone already. You can't deny that and this administration wants to make everything available a lie in order to push through 1 of the items on the 40 liberal wish list.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
Where are you from? There are no words to describe how stupid you are! I called you a republican before I even knew you were cause all your doing right now is repeating the conservative talking points! Stop watching BillO the Clown, Hannity and Fow Noise period, they dont give a fuck about you, ONLY RATINGS! I really wish people would go out and try to educate themselves when it comes to things like this, the media is clueless and isnt talking about facts, just opinions and that is a fact!
craigg1981 2 years ago
I like the language. Sign of limited vocabulary. You think Obama cares about you? I can't wait until you get what you voted for. Change is coming alright! It just won't be the change anyone wants. You're right, CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, Washington Post, NBC are all clueless. You obviously have nothing useful or constructive to say. Go back to your anger, you got what you wanted. Have you read the Constitution lately and studied how our country was intended to be? Education yourself.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
You forgot fox noise and how clueless they are! You can use my language as a cop-out, thats fine! You know everything you said here was a lie and everything I said was the truth, and a fact! I'm not repeating republicants talking points like a puppet, like you! And I have read the constitution, you really want to go down that road as a conservative? Remember who changed our constitution so he could listen to people having phone sex, HE WASNT A DEMOCRAT! Dumb, there are no other words!
craigg1981 2 years ago
The point to this discussion I am having with you about healthcare is this - we have the best healthcare system in the world, despite it's flaws. If the governement wants to extend medicaid and medicare programs beyond what it already is, I have no problem with that. What I DO have a problem with is the govt. dictating healthcare for everyone and using my tax dollars to do it when I'm opposed to it. That isn't freedom, that's an infringement of my rights and the rights of healthcare workers.
anniemoon08 2 years ago
Does that not make sense to you? Canadians come to America for treatment and procedures they can't get in Canada because the Govt. DICTATES what they can and can't have. They also have to wait MONTHS for treatments and in many cases, that treatment comes too late. When I'm 70 and need a knee replacement I don't want to be told I'm not eligible because I only have so many productive years left. Is that what you want for Americans? That's rationing healthcare. How can that be good?

We couldn't get anything through the senate on governance of Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac

Did you make money in the stock market when it tanked last year?
Vespasian76 2 years ago

ScarlettKnights 2 years ago
Thank you Mr. Boehner!

I did not say you were stupid, but you are obviously ignorant.
db198081 2 years ago
I'm not rich and powerful but I pay my taxes and play by the rules. I don't resent or object to someone making a lot of money, I applaud it. These are the individuals who create jobs and pay 90% of the taxes that pay for the government and what it does. Are you on the government tit, or are you just angry because you take no initiative to better yourself and be productive?
