good video, but in the future, when you have a white background, don't use a light blue, champion disc. Give the guy a red or an orange star or pro plastic so it will show up better.
A close up of how the thumb is suppose to contact the disc would be nice. I was pressing with the tip of my thumb. I have read that this is not correct. The website says, " the base of the thumb" I am guessing that big fleshy part by the palm?
First of all, the white on the inside of his collar is the white thread securing the bottons on his shirt. I suppose the shirt manufacturer could have used matching green thread or Dave could use a green marker to color the inside visible white threads.
I think the video is lacking sufficient information for a 4:36 video.
I like the idea of using a translucent disc for visible demonstration, but the light blue disc gets lost in the white background in the video. It dissapears a couple times.
@InnovaDiscGolf MICROPHONES ARE WHITE STAINS ON THE LEFT HIS COLLAR? I THOUGHT THE MIC WAS BLACK AND IN THE CENTER OF HIS COLAR....HHM..... MUST BE ME THEN......WEIRD.....
@InnovaDiscGolf no. that is clearly food dribble. the mic is at the "v" of the neck collar. the food dribble is obvious as it sits on the inside of his left collar. . . . just to clear that up.
i agree with jodabro, smooth is far, i think there is a fine line between muscle tension and grip pressure, and arm speed. if you dont produce the arm speed the disc will not be ripped from your grip creating good snap. or if you create alot of arm speed and no grip pressure you will have early releases with weak snap and little spin,
can you make a video relating thumb and grip pressure to arm speed? also comment on how this would affect snap. that would help a lot,
I love all your videos up to this point. I also agree grip is greatly underrated. And I agree about the pads, but where I disagreed is the Thumb. Everything you say can be applied to Forehand, but on backhand thumb pressure doesn't need to be tense as pinky to palm pressure. The pinky or ring finger are the very first fingers to rip off the disc, once the disc breaks free of them no amont of thumb pressure will help. Also thumb pressure causes muscle tension in the biceps.
Pinky pressure only tenses up the forearm muscles, its much easier to throw farther with a rubber/sling shot arm. Distance isn't about muscle strength its about flexibility. Muscle tension is counter productive.
Gee, How many fatties has ol' Dave blown in his day lulz
